I stayed at the property for a long weekend with friends. The place is an idyllic cabin in the woods with a modest drive to Traverse City and various breweries in the area. The property is well maintained and the hosts are incredibly responsive. I will definitely keep this place on my list of favorites for future getaways.

This was our second year staying here and we plan on making it a yearly adventure. Secluded enough to get the wilderness feel but close to Traverse City to enjoy the tourist areas. Very clean, has everything you need, great hosts

Loved this adorable log cabin next to the river. It felt private, we loved eating dinner at the table and watching the fish jump and play in the little sandbar by the cabin. It was clean and welcoming, would definitely stay again!!

Really nice cabin with all the stuff you need. Very quiet but close to Honor. We had most meals on the porch and got to listen to the river as it runs within a few yards of the cabin. Very relaxing time

This cabin is lovely for a relaxing, comfortable stay to enjoy the burbling river. Its location east of Honor allows easy access to Crystal Mountain, Frankfort, Crystal Lake, the Leelanau Peninsula, Interlochen and Traverse City. The cabin is alongside the Platte River, where you can say hi to kayakers and canoers as they head downriver. There are no immediate neighbors, which makes for a peaceful, enjoyable visit. The layout is a main floor with two bedrooms (queen bed in each), bathroom, under-stairs closet for storage, kitchen with small breakfast nook and island separating it from living area. Upstairs is a loft with two double beds. Only the one bathroom. It is perfect for a couple or a small family, or even two couples if they are ok with sharing the bathroom. The inside is not large, but is cozy and comfortable, and the decor is delightful, with lots of small objects to provide a warm cabin-appropriate feel. The deck that wraps around two sides of the cabin is the real star. Because of all the trees on the property and the cabin orientation, you can get either full sun or shade on different parts of the deck, as you wish. The deck is large, holding a dining table with four chairs, two chaise lounges, a small folding camping table with two chairs, and a grill, with plenty of room left over. It's the perfect spot to enjoy the river and beautiful weather. We spent a great deal of time out on this deck and loved it. Hosts Holly and Bill are wonderful and responsive.

My wife and I are debating on whether this property has been our favorite rental so far in the area. We loved the remote feel of this stay by the river. I launched personal kayaks from the site numerous time. We had a campfire on a couple occasions. We were close enough to all the local adventure spots. Everything was where we needed it to be and communication was easy with the owners. Would definitely stay here again.

We have been back to this magical spot 3 times. Our family travels from NY and Ohio to spend a week together. We simply love the beauty of the spot and the clean and comfy cabin.

Perfect accommodations for us. Beautiful, relaxing spot on the river. So many great birds and just enough kayakers go by for a little enjoyment. Hosts were great to communicate with and very helpful. Close to so many fun things to do.

We loved our stay! The location was peaceful, well kept and so relaxing. The house was well stocked with the essentials. We'd go back in a heartbeat!

We love everything about this cabin! This was our second time here and it won’t be our last. The amazing view of the river from inside the cabin is unbeatable, regardless of the season! It’s also a quiet and secluded location. We stay here when we ski at Crystal Mountain but also love that it’s only a 25 minute drive to Traverse City.

Wonderful little cabin on the Platte River, very clean, well equipped home. Owners were easy to. communicate with, very friendly and check in and out was a breeze. I would highly recommend this home

This is our second time staying at this property and it is absolutely perfect! It is breathtaking to wake up each morning to the river foot stops away from the deck. The hosts are very responsive. Property is clean and well equipped. Looking forward to staying again!

We had three couples in the cabin and it was perfect! Everything we needed for a relaxing weekend of seeing the colors and enjoying the area.

We enjoyed staying here so much. We got to see the coho salmon swimming upstream to go spawn which was so cool to see. The kids fished into the river the whole time we were there, and while we didn’t catch anything we still had a great time. I do wish there was firewood provided like we originally thought, but other than that this cabin exceeded our expectations and we can’t wait to come back to the area again!

This cabin was just wonderful, very comfortable and quiet. Being right next to the river was so beautiful. The location was also very nice for visiting area lighthouses, Sleeping Bear Dunes and all the surrounding quaint little towns. Would love to come back again sometime. Thanks so much Bill and Holly!

Very private, clean True up north cabin

Listing is accurate. Was a very peaceful stay, in the woods along the creek. Also great for getting some work done while away from the office.

My husband and I visited along with another couple and their 17-year-old daughter. Beautiful large lot with the river flowing by. A short trip to Sleeping Bear in one direction, Traverse City in the other. The house was clean, however whoever stayed before us didn't bother to wash the dishes before they put them away. Had to wash everything before we used it. The deck is nice - plenty of shade in the morning, and shade on the lawn in the afternoon. Love the firepit. Trees all around. There are neighbors nearby, but we barely heard them and never saw them. Washer/dryer is very handy. Helpful hint: if you plan to do your own cooking, BYO knives. There was a drawer full of knives, but not one was sharp enough to be useful. Also, there is a coffee pot, but if you're a tea drinker you will need to bring your own equipment. (If you're a tea drinker you already know that. 😉 We probably come here again.

This is simply the place that I dream about during the long winter months. We just love the site, the house the time to relax. The house is clean and organized and the arrangements for rental are a snap.

A perfect quiet retreat with all the basics. The Cedar Waxwings, deer and occasional King Fisher were fun to watch along the river. Many attractions within a 20-30 minute radius. I will definitely stay again!

Really nice stay, the cabin is tastefully decorated, and well stocked, the river is peaceful and relaxing, nothing better then sitting in the deck and watching the river. All the furnishings are high quality and well cared for, I don’t know what more you could want, It really was wonderful I didn’t want to leave.
