Perfect house for girls gathering - 3rd time staying here - Jane is great to work with and replies quickly to all communication. Easy walking distance to downtown even on the chilly evening. If you are planning a trip to New Glarus area, this is the perfect place to stay!

We loved spending the night here - there are so many beds and spaces to explore! It was a little tight in the morning with only two bathrooms, but we made it work. We’ll DEFINITELY stay here again!

This is a fantastic property. It is well kept, beautifully decorated, simply charming! We had everything we needed for our mini vacation. We also enjoyed the lovely coffee shop! If you are looking for a perfect house, this is the one!

We grew up in southern WI and now live 5 hours away. Were looking for a suitable location that could sleep five adults and an infant with the ability to prepare and host a larger family gathering of our WI family, about 20 people in total. Duerst Guest House met and exceeded all of our hopes and expectations.
As many have mentioned, this large home is exceptionally clean and comfortable. The photos, while accurate, don’t adequately convey its charm and spaciousness. Its close proximity to Madison made it very easy to gather all the last minute party provisions. The kitchens are well equipped with plenty of serveware, glassware, etc. Everything was in great working order and necessities were generously stocked with additional towels, paper goods, etc. Beds were comfortable and privacy easily obtainable.
Jane, the host was very responsive to my pre-visit inquiries and attentive and available during our stay. Pricing was very fair & reasonable for all that this lovely old home has to offer.
All of our guests commented on the home and its coziness and adaptability to hosting a party.
Will definitely rebook, if the need arises.

What a beautiful home! Loved all the architectural details of this amazing space, and all the updates to keep this beautiful old home fresh and safe. (New steps front and back, patio with fire pit, etc.) We all slept great and had all that we needed. Loved our stay and would love to come back and explore New Glarus further. Thank you!

This home was very clean and comfortable. There is a lot of space for all to relax and feel at home. Jane is an exceptional host. We could not have asked for anything better. We will definitely revisit in the future. A one accommodation!

As good as this place looks in the listing, it is even better in person!!!! We loved staying here. A totally inviting atmosphere. The property is well equipped with linens, extra linens, kitchenware, you name it. Can't wait to come back and visit again!!!

Large home with many bedrooms, two living rooms, big kitchen table. All the dishes and cooking supplies you need. Many pillows and blankets and bathroom supplies. The woodwork in this old home is beautiful. Large front porch. Walkable distance to downtown. Good food in pubs. Excellent bakery downtown! Would definitely stay in this home again.

The Duerst Guest House is just plain gorgeous as well as comfortable and welcoming. One of our party said "we should come during bad weather sometime so we just hang at/in the house". We highly recommend and look forward to our next visit!!

Spacious, cozy home. Would be a great place for a girlfriend get away or family get together. We were able to ride our bikes the short distance to the bike trailhead, which is the main reason we booked the stay, but also appreciated the short walking distance to the restaurants and shops in downtown New Glarus. Plan on staying there again

Fun old house with a lot of character, beautiful grounds. Mattresses could stand to be updated, but everything was well thought out and decorated. Cool place to stay. Wished there was a DVD player in the upstairs part of the house.

The Duerst House is fabulous! Lots of room to spread out and be comfortable for our Girls Week. Plenty of rooms and 3 bathrooms with showers. Everything was perfect and we had a relaxing, wonderful time in New Glarus. Communication with Jane was great. We will be back!

This is my second stay at this property. The house is gorgeous and has plenty of space for family gatherings. The kitchen is well stocked with cooking utensils. We picked up some firewood at Casey's and enjoyed a fire one evening. Not to mention it's just a short walk to New Glarus's adorable downtown area. We had a fantastic stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The house is delightful and convenient walking distance to town. We loved sitting on the front porch with our coffee in the mornings. A fun location with 91 year old mom and her kids. Home we stayed at was absolutely perfect. All amenities, home, grounds, town the best! I would stay a Thurs-Sunday as restaurants were closed. Would highly recommend!!

This unique house was perfect for my family. There was plenty of space for everyone and we really enjoyed the charater of this historical home. Our 4 year old loved "exploring" all there was to see in the house and there truly was a lot to see. (4 different floors in fact). We didn't check out the town because we only had a short stay and were entertained enough with just staying put. We plan on staying there again, staying a bit longer and seeing what New Glarus has to offer.

Jane's house was absolutely beautiful and spotless! It was huge for just me and two ofu kids, but we enjoyed it so much. I would love to come back with my sisters; the little kitchen upstairs would make it very easy to travel with a larger group and still have plenty of space. Everything was so clean, and the decor was lovely with thoughtful touches everywhere. The flowers, both perennials and potted, were gorgeous and I spent a part of each morning sitting on the shaded front porch among them with my coffee, planning our day. Many shops and restaurants in walking distance if you so choose. The third floor (or attic, as my 6-year-old liked to call it) was a great place for kids to play or adults to relax; since it was in the upper 80s all the while we were there, we didn't get to use it much. If it's not, though, be sure to check out the community pool, which we loved. I hope I get to return to this beautiful home when I am in the area again someday!

Such a beautiful home. The rehab of the old house was well done and kept a lot of the old charm. It wasn't just a cheap facelift that you see for so many rentals. The location was great. You are within walking distance of the shops and restaurants. Jane the host was very friendly, extremely cooperative, and very knowledgeable about the area. Make certain you make it to Paoli. While it does sleep 12, which is great for families, I wouldn't do more than 4 couples. I wish all listings were this nice.

Lovely, well-maintained house with several comfortable seating areas. Overall a very comfortable and clean home. Located within a few blocks of restaurants, bars and a coffee house.

Jane was prompt with all communication. The home is absolutely lovely with comfortable furniture, beds and a great kitchen space. We enjoyed the multiple choices for sitting areas to catch up and relax. I wish New Glarus had more options for dining during the week but it is the way businesses have to survive right now.

This was an amazing house! It had everything we needed and was beautiful and so cozy. The beds were very comfortable. I literally had 2 of the best nights of sleep I've had in a very long time.
