Everything at the Crappie Cottage is amazing. Year after year we enjoy it even more. Cleanliness, to the beach, to the amenities surpass our expectations! We feel like this is our second home.

The property was situated right on the lake and unlike its neighboring properties did not have a ton of steps to get to the water. There is a cute little alcove by the house that creates a nice space to wade in the water, fish or watch your kids play. Additionally, there is a dock a little further out where my kids had a blast swimming, jumping into the water and playing with the kyaks and swim equipment provided. There was ample space for the 4 adults and 2 kids to spread out as well as hang out together with various outdoor spaces and a nice open eating/living area. The kitchen and grilling amenaties were sufficient for our cooking needs, and the house was located close to a grocery store as well as numerous restaurants when we didn't want to cook. Jerry, the proprietor, was very accomodating, pleasant and helpful. We felt able to ask questions of him and he always made himself available for us when needed. We had an excellent vacation and I would absolutely recommend this property to others in the future.

We absolutely LOVED our time at the Crappie cottage! Everything was just perfect and the cottage is so nice, pictures do not do this place justice! A little piece of heaven! Our family had the best time boating, swimming and fishing. Memories were made and we’re already talking about when to come back.

Excellent property right on the water. Near golfing and state parks (nice hiking at Lake of the Ozarks State Park and Ha Ha Tonka State Park). Very quiet location with great deck overlooking bay. House is very well stocked with all that you may need, including charcoal grill.

Jerry & Candy always take good care of us. We love the peaceful setting, and the beach area. We have already booked our stay for next year!

Great place.

Our stay at the lake house was amazing. Not one detail out of place to make our time spent comfortable. A location where you can be secluded from life, or venture off and be part of all the water fun. So many options around us. My kids did everything….floats, kayaks, swimming, finding rocks, enjoying the deck, making forts outside, and more. The kitchen was amazingly well stocked…we liked the knife set so much we bought one for our own home. Would return for another stay. A true vacation gem. Thank you for having us. Your kindness was refreshing.

The owners had everything you would ever need. Property was very clean. So many different seating areas and decks. Two docks. One to swim off of and one to fish. Very private and secluded. Safe for our young ones to just swim and be adventuresome. Great grill and kitchen had all dishes and pots needed. Beautiful landscaping. There was very steep drive but all of us made it fine. Easy walking to different docks snd decks. We will stay here again. In fact we wanted to stay next year same time but already was booked. This is how it should be snd not very many owners take such pride and attention to detail. Worth every penny.

Enjoyed this beautiful private cottage. Perfect place to spend a week with my daughter, son and his girlfriend. Especially enjoyed the swim dock and kayaking. Our dog had a great time as well. Hope to be back again next year. Thank you Jerry and Candy!

Crappie Cottage was everything my family and I were looking for. As other reviews have mentioned, nearly every room in the house has a view of the lake and everything you need for your stay. Jerry and Candy were great hosts and responded quickly to a question I had the first night. My sons and I spent many hours fishing off the boat dock and were able to catch many fish over the course of the week. The swimming dock is an added bonus and quickly became my kids' favorite afternoon activity. All in all, the property is in an awesome spot, the hosts are great and include many things that others don't (such as kayaks, fishing gear, lifejackets, etc.), and my wife and I agreed that it was one of the best vacations we've taken in a long time. Don't hesitate!

The Crappie Cottage was amazing! More than enough room for the six of us and very well appointed. Loved the big property and docks, no big stair cases to access the water was a plus. The host, Jerry, was a terrific gentleman who made sure we had all we needed and was great to chat with. He also was responsible for rescuing a fishing rod that had slipped off the dock(without even being asked!), what a great guy! To sum up, I couldn’t have asked for a better place to stay!

The best part of the house is that it is as about the lake. All rooms are lake facing with either windows or patio doors. A huge deck to enjoy and un like other homes, lots of property. Everything worked and was in good repair. Jerry & Candy were hospitable hosts.

We came to Crappie Cottage for a relaxing get-away in early November. We did not come for the busy season intentionally and found the location peaceful and exactly what we were looking for. Cottage was cozy and well equipped, minus washer and dryer. Beautiful views and great decks. We did not need much assistance from owners, but what communication we did have was prompt and helpful. Driveway is steep, but manageable. We brought our dog and were able to find a walking path and dog park nearby. We enjoyed the area sites and would recommend Ha Ha Tonka Castle ruins and the state park in Camdenton. We enjoyed many restaurants, but favorites include Baxters, Wobbly Boots (best butter cake), Pappos, JB Hooks (happy hour 3-8 with live music), and the humongous cinnamon roll at Stewart’s. We would definitely recommend this place for a fall getaway and would think it would also be great in the summer months for families and couples.

We loved the location and the layout of the space. The landscaping was very nice and well cared for. The location was very quiet and private. We work a lot, and this was a great space to relax and still get some work done ! One comment for consideration. You need a set knives. Also for a fall or spring visit a propane fire table would be very appealing, and would be a bonus to entice us back

First time using Verbo. The property that we stayed at was awesome. The property owner/management were very helpful. We have one slight issue outside of their property and they still helped us with it. I look forward to staying here again in the near future. Morgan family

Awesome property! Nice and secluded on the lake. The driveway is a little steep, not recommend if your are pulling a boat. Boat ramp close. Owners were very nice and easy to work with. Definitely would come back for another stay!

Property was well maintained with quality equipment. Owners were very nice. The property has a deck overlooking a cove, with two decks, one which has the owners boats and another which you can swim/fish off of. They have three kayaks, with life jackets, that you can use. Our son fished off of the dock everyday and caught a lot of large mouth bass. They had a good Weber grill that was very clean, and provided charcoal and a chimney. We barbequed two nights for dinner. The couch in the living room folds out into a bed. We didn't use it but it is a nice option. The owners live on the property, but their house is secluded and we very rarely saw them. They have an annex in their basement that you can rent for $75/night. Our daughter and her husband stayed there 4 nights. It too is very secluded from the owners. A gravel drive connects it to the cabin. The only issues we had were that there was no full sized oven, they had a convection oven/microwave. We like to bake. The drive down to the cottage is very steep. It rained every day we were there, for a week, and the drive could be challenging. Eventually you get the hang of it. Our family had a very enjoyable stay. It was very quiet and relaxing. Too bad the Blues lost both games while we were there.

The place was great, candy was super helpful. The property was very nice and had everything we needed for a boys fishing trip.

Our oldest dog was recently diagnosed with cancer, and we wanted to take a small vacation with her and her sister while she is still feeling well. It was a short but very pleasant stay. Loved it, and so did my husband and pups!

Though the temps were not what we hoped we had a great time. There was more than enough necessities in the house for a comfortable stay. The only things missing were a cutting board and steak knives (we enjoy grilling and cooking), but we had no problem managing. The driveway is rather steep with sharp turns, so I would not suggest a trailer or any sort, or a sporty car that is low to the ground. In the end we would suggest this place all day long, and actually started planning our next visit.

The driveway is pretty steep and made us a little nervous the first time, especially since we arrived after dark. But we got used to it. All in all, we loved our time here and hope to come back again!

We loved this property. It gave a nice feeling of isolation even though the neighbors weren't that far away. I loved the access to two docks. There are a couple of places to enjoy an outdoor fire. Very cool place! Very nice hosts! We hope to book again next year.

Our family had a wonderful week staying at this lake property. The swim deck and water toys available were perfect for all of us. Grandparents, parents and three kids. Everything was great. I do wish I had known 2 things prior to making the final decision however. One, there was no washer and dryer. Made it hard to keep up with the clothes of three very adventures kids. Second is the annex is not right next door to the cottage but up the hill on the lower level of the owners home. Thank goodness for the use of the golf cart. At the end of the day the location on the lake and the fun time we had outweighed these inconveniences.

This house was perfect for 2 families to stay! We brought a boat and a jet ski and the property owners let us park the trailers on their property (up top- the driveway is super steep so no boat trailer could get down to the cottage!!) The swim platform and lake floats and toys at the cottage were fantastic. Our kids loved swimming here and exploring the waters edge just outside the cottage. There are 3 kayaks here that we used as well. We cooked dinner & breakfast every day - the cottage has plenty of pans/dishes/ etc to use and a charcoal grill as well! Also lots of bath towels and beach towels. The pull out couch was great for extra spot for kids to sleep. The owners checked on us a couple times to see if we needed anything. They were great! Highly recommend this cottage. We missed it the minute we left!!

We thoroughly enjoyed our trip to Candy & Jerry's home. The lake was beautiful, they were friendly & quick to respond to anything we needed. The house is immaculate, beds were comfortable, location was so quiet and nice, but close to shopping & restaurants. Others comment about the steep drive, which it does have, but I thought it was a cool feature that gave it a unique secluded feel. We saw lots of deer, my husband and sons loved the fishing. Swimming dock was a favorite. The grounds were spacious and very pretty/well maintained. We would definitely recommend staying there!
