The home is lovely right on the beach. We can’t wait to return.

This was 2nd visit to this house for a girls trip( a return trip that says something) The location and the amount of beds and baths are what you are paying for. For the group I was with this house was fantastic. The 4 stars on the cleaning is because 2 of the gals walked barefoot in the house the 1st night we were there and the bottoms of their feet were filthy ( neither had gone out on the deck that day) Again you can not beat the location of this house. The view is great

We loved everything about this house and it’s priceless location. Very clean, very well appointed, and exactly as described. We are working on schedules to make sure we can lock in a longer trip next year.

This was a great vacation rental that suited our multi-generation family of 4 couples for grad weekend very well. It was a nice distance away from campus to be able to get away from SLO and enjoy our time together during the hectic weekend.

We absolutely loved the property and the location. The accommodations were beyond what we expected. The only slight issue we had was the direct communication with the owner about the check in process. We asked for details regarding check in that were not found on the listing but did not get any further details. The owner seemed to become frustrated and offered a full refund just days before our check in date. This caused unnecessary stress and panic on our end. In the end everything worked out and we enjoyed our stay.

The house is in a prime location where you can access the dunes.

Our family of 10 had a great time staying at this property at oceano. The hosts were great, everything was as per the listing, comfortable, well equipped house. The location is unbeatable. Strongly Recommend for a great family time.

The house was great, it was big enough to sleep 10 comfortably and the apartment above was spacious and quiet. Very well stocked and clean. They let us check in early which was a wonderful bonus. Oceano dunes is a very unique place to stay. The dunes keeps the beach in front of the properties private and protected from the wind, but then the car beach stays busy. If you have a 4x4 it’s a neat experience.

The listing was so accurate, it really helped with planning what to bring, etc. We don't have any complaints about any part of our stay. It was 4 couples that stayed here, and we knew the bed situation was better geared towards families with kids, but it worked out for us very well. We've rented from these folks before and will rent from them again. Thank you, Maddox family!

Such a great property, very relaxing. There were 8 of us and plenty of space for us to each have our own spot! Very clean, beautiful views and Tammy was very responsive. Would definitely stay there again!

Beautiful location with the beach as your backyard. Spacious home to accommodate two families with all amenities needed. Vehicle access on this part of the beach so you do need to be careful if you have small children. The host was very nice and the house was super clean. We hope to come back next year!

We had a wonderful stay. Everyone loved being able to step off the deck and into the soft sand. The kids had so much fun. The adults loved the serenity of the views. And the whale watching was unexpected and great fun. Hope to go back again.

The view of ocean from the deck and main living area was spectacular. A climb over dune to beach was relatively easy (not for all). Nice sanded area right in front of deck for fire and play in the sand. Although the decor could be simplified and updated (lots of plastic plants) the house has everything you need!

The home is in a great location, although traffic going along the beach, headed to the sand dunes, can get heavy (when you go down to the water's edge). Beware that this home has stairs, even in the main level. There is no mention of stairs in the description, nor the pictures, but there are stairs that must be navigated, when entering the home, to access the main living area. Bedrooms and bathrooms are all on the same level as the front door, but the main living area has stairs that must be accessed. My main reason for renting this particular unit was the single level home that didn't appear to have any stairs - never assume the photos are accurate! While the location of this home is awesome, repairs are definitely needed, so beware. Those stairs I mentioned are actually separating away from the wall - there's an actual gap between the stairs and the wall. Bathrooms are exceptionally outdated, some of the windows won't open, others have lost their seal and have a white film between the window panes - so heavily that you can't see out that window. Carpeting is in need of replacement or needs to be re-stretched. With all of the fee's, you actually wind up paying an additional night's rent - over $1,000 in fees!! Makes a HUGE difference in price when you add all of the additional fees. And keep in mind those fees don't get you much - you are REQUIRED to "leave it as you found it" - in other words, you have to clean the entire house before you leave - including washing dishes, washing towels, sweeping floors, etc. It's a LOT of work that YOU'RE required to do before leaving and checkout is at noon, so plan to get up early and start to work on the day you're leaving.

Pros: Beds were comfortable and clean. Views of the Ocean and beach were great. Location was good, close to restaurants and shops. Walking access to the beach was great. Cons: this home was not suitable for small children or anyone with mobility limitations. There are stairs to enter the main part of the home and stairs to get up to the extra room above garage. Also, there is no guardrail off of the back deck, which can be very dangerous for small children and adults as well. The home is very very dated.. and very very used looking and feeling. Feels like the owner does the very bare minimum at cleaning or keeping the home updated. The grout on the floors is filthy as well as the floors themselves. Not cleaned very well. The furniture is old and worn. Kitchen cabinets are worn, grout on counter tops dirty, coffee cups had coffee stains in them but were put away in cabinet. Carpet in master bedroom was stained.. There are no extra amenities or any type of extra effort put into Providing a special experience for the guests. At $1000.00 per night we were very disappointed in the overall condition and experience. Also, the owner leaves a list of very strong worded instructions of do’s and don’t, which is understandable.. but it immediately makes guests feel unwelcome. Especially, because it is evident that the owner does not go out of their way to provide a clean inviting space for paying guests. Overall, for the price, we were not thrilled and would not choose to rent this home again on a return visit.

Where do I start. This home was such a delight to stay at. From the wonderful welcoming of our host to the breathtaking views. Everything was very clean and the home was well stocked. We had everything we needed. We are a family of 6, ages range from 6-44, there was something for all of us to enjoy! Being able to sit on the back porch and gaze at the stars or sit around the fire pit at night with our family was all very sweet and memorable. On our second night there we had the most beautiful sunset! The perfect back drop! Thank you, Tammy in making our stay so wonderful! We all had such a delightful family time! We gathered with family to celebrate a birthday. The home is clean & comfortable with lots of amenities and an amazing view. Each bedroom was well stocked with blankets & pillows. My grand babies played for hours off the back patio in the sand.

We stayed here with some of our bridal party for our wedding weekend and loved the property! Right on the dunes, an awesome bbq place and Mexican restaurant down the street, and lots of comfy beds! Kitchen had what we needed and the house was clean. Make sure you bring your own towels! Beach towels are not provided.

Our family had an amazing time during our stay. The beach house was nice and the views were amazing. It was busy on the beach with all the vehicle traffic but we knew that because of the holiday weekend. The house had all we needed for our stay.

Tammy was an awesome host and communication was excellent! There was plenty of room for everyone and to have the beach right out the back door was amazing! We would love to return again for more family fun!

Ths is a cute & comfortable house just behind the dunes on beach in Oceano Wonderful ocean view. It had everything we needed. Upon arriving my granddaughter said "whoa, are you kidding, this is increduble. Yes, the decor may be a bit dated but it's a beach rental people!

The location was excellent. Don’t get wrapped up of all the donts. Just respect the property and enjoy. You will receive all of the unanswered questions just before your arrival. Bring your own sand equipment and have a good time.

Great location and easy checkin. The only slight negative was a slight musty smell in the studio apartment - remedied by leaving windows open as well as a musty smell in the bedroom with the full bed in the main house. Overall really enjoyed our stay and look forward to coming back.

The house was excellent - plenty of space and with the beach in the backyard. Communication with the host was seamless, and check in/out was easy. The only thing that threw us for a surprise was the cars on the beach, which were allowed to be there as part of the state park.

Great house, excellent location, just be prepared to feel like you are in trouble with the owner before you even show up. You will see when you get their rules and demands of the renters. A lot of typing in caps at you and repeating stuff over and over again even if your a completely innocent family looking for a relaxed time. I might go back but would most likely try one of the other houses on the same block.

Great house, great location… Super safe for folks with kids under the age of five.

The view and location are outstanding. The house was as described. Great space for 5 friends to stay in. A few things were missing in the kitchen like a full set of measuring cups and measuring spoons. We bought those and left them behind for the next guests

Had a great week at the beach house. House was very clean. It has enough towels with washer and dryer available. Kitchen was well stocked with all cooking and baking items. Owners available if needed.

We had a great time at this house, loved the fact we were able to step out to the beach from the house!
