Situated in a nice calm village called Tamentfoust outside Algiers, about an hour drive from the airport, Residence Touristique du Port is a wonderful luxorius apartment hotel just beside the Mediterranean sea. The apartment I booked had seaview and panorama windows which gives a breathtaking view of Algiers and the Mediterranean sea. The hotel has shuttle service and can pick one up at the airport for an extra charge. The apartment I stayed in was like a large studio with state-of-the-art kitchen, large bedroom with huge wardrobe, comfortable king size bed, a large luxorius bathroom with bathtub and rainshower. Everything is brand new, spotless clean, the hotel opened just a few months ago. There is a lovely swimmingpool on the ground floor. The staff was super friendly, service minded and helped me with anything I asked. For ex, I needed some medication for my flu and their driver took me to the nearest pharmacy which was opened during the weekend for free. This kind service I appreciate immensely. The hotel is one of its kind in Algiers as far as I know and has five star standard. There is no breakfast served at the hotel since there is a fully equiped kitchen (with coffe machine, freezer, stove, fridge, oven, microwave etc) I could prepare my breakfast and buy supplies at the nearest supermarket, which was just a few steps from the hotel. There are several very nice restaurants also on the same street as the hotel and therefore I could enjoy my dinners there as well. Wifi was free and worked perfectly during all my stay. There was a huge flat screen tv in the living room and a small one in the bedroom. The bathroom had huge bath towels, shower cream, shampoo and hand soap. The apartment had big balcony towards the sea equiped with furniture. I loved the huge space in all rooms and I didn't feel much urge to leave the lovely apartment, it was so nice to be there. I would love to return to this beautiful hotel, it was so enjoyable.

There is no private beach outside the hotel and unfortunately the only public beach is very dirty, the sand and sea is filled with large amounts of plastic garbage. The hotel is not to blame for this but it was uncomfortable to see and nothing was done about it.
