We have never been to this area of North Carolina and it was absolutely gorgeous. All the bedrooms were comfortable and the morning views in the treetops were amazing. We would for sure rent again

The treehouse was perfect for our post-Covid family gathering. Our adult children and partners each had a private room and the common rooms were large enough for us all to gather. Cooking together in the well equipped kitchen, family dinners on the screened porch, s’mores in the gazebo, kayaking on the lake, lounging on the dock, and puzzles around the dining room table were all opportunities to connect and laugh. We would definitely stay here again. The host was very responsive and helpful. It felt like we were staying in a friend’s home.

We had a little post Thanksgiving gathering with my parents, sister and youngest niece since I had to work the holiday. The Tree House is a very nice place to stay with plenty of room! We had to bring our dog at the last minute and it was easily taken care of and necessary fees added without any problems! When we got there the trash bins hadn’t been picked up and were full due to a large group staying there prior to our visit. That was also not a problem since we immediately contacted the owner. She had it picked up by the next morning! The neighborhood is very nice and we enjoyed going for walks and seeing the houses that were decorated for Christmas! It was cold outside so we enjoyed the gas fireplace in the evening! We didn’t go down to the dock since it was cold and a bit breezy! But it would be great to enjoy during the warmer weather and bring the kayaks to get out on the lake! We enjoyed our stay! Owner is quick to respond to remedy any problems!

A beautiful mountain home situated on a peaceful lake with everything that was needed for fun and entertainment. It fit our extended family perfectly and the extras provided like Christmas decorations were super nice! Everyone would love to come back!

Thank you for our second wonderful family getaway at your lovely home! Six adults, two dogs and one toddler had a cozy New Year getaway. The cabin is beautiful, with lots of room for large families. Two family rooms, two levels of decks provide room for gathering or privacy. The kitchen is stocked with everything you need for lovely family meal preparations. We had so much fun!! We’ll be back next year!

Communication with the homeowner was excellent. This home was more than adequate to accommodate our families’ needs. The home was exceptionally clean and very spacious. The bedrooms offered comfortable sleeping, the kitchen was fully equipped, the living areas offered plenty of seating and so many outdoor deck areas to enjoy the water and nature. Both the home and homeowner were most welcoming. Highly recommend.

We had a really quiet and peaceful weekend in this House. Rachel is nice and patient. Her replies to my questions are always quick.

The property was beautiful and the house well maintained. The only drawbacks were that it was very close to neighbors and the quite steep driveway was a challenge to manage with large vehicles.

5 couples, including my husband and I, really enjoyed our stay at Rachel’s lake cabin! It was spacious and inviting. The house was incredibly clean, stocked with everything we needed and had gorgeous views of Lake Chatuge. While we were there, we visited Crane Creek Vinyards, which is only about a 10 minute drive. It was beautiful, and something fun to do! We were also so glad we could bring our dogs to the house! We had a great weekend and would love to come back!

We really enjoyed our long weekend at this nice house on Lake Chatuge. For the ten of us, five couples, this tri'level on full basement provided enough privacy and space for everyone to relax, mingle and enjoy each others company. There were two separated bedrooms and a bath off the main entry, go up a half flight to the master which has a shower and jacuzzi tub and a sweet little "tree house" sitting room. Back down to the main level and 5 steps down you enter the main open space with a great room, large stone/gas fireplace ( which we enjoyed immensely), a large dining table (where we played games), a screened in porch leading to the deck and u-shaped kitchen appropriately equipped w all the necessities. Off the kitchen, carpeted steps lead to the lower level w another great room w another gas fireplace and additional views of the lake, two more bedrooms, a bath and laundry. Both great rooms have spacious decks but only the lower level provided direct access to the water. Due to the way this house is nestled into a steep slope just off the narrow main road, parking was limited but we simply took our two suvs w boat trailers further down the road to the small neighborhood boat slip and left them there for a few days, leaving room in the pull-thru drive w covered parking for the other three cars. Wasn't an issue for us - just noting as you plan your own trip here. Another note, I have a bad knee and although I was lugging myself up and down stairs the entire time, I managed just fine by taking it slowly. But if someone needs to avoid stairs all together, this would be a challenging location. Speaking of location, you really can't beat the central location of Lake Chatuge in Hayesville, NC. 15 minutes in ANY direction and you have a nice, quaint town to explore and have lunch. I think I can speak for everyone when I say we really enjoyed the area. My husband was more interested in fishing, but for the rest of us we had wonderful day trips and memories we'll cherish for a lifetime. We also appreciated the fact that the house was pet friendly and although the property is not fenced, we took our mobile perimeter collars so the dogs could roam the wooded property behind the house without going too far. Thank you so much for having us!

This was a perfect place for a family gathering. Plenty of room to spread out and to hang out together. We canoed, swam and floated around and there was a small beach area down the street for toddlers. We also enjoyed a nearby walking trail and the community was very friendly. Great place!

We are from Florida .We enjoyed the stay in Lake Chatuge with a couple of friends and our kids ! We were blessed to find a owner like Ms. Rachel to advice us all the time . Every request was responded on time . The house was neat and clean. We will love to be back soon !!

We really enjoyed out stay for the New Years Eve weekend. Perfect house...girls upstairs and guys downstairs watching football! Great weekend!

This property is every bit as ideal as the description and pictures. From the location right on the lake to the cleanliness and amenities it's hard to imagine a better house to spend a few days relaxing. On top of it all, Rachel the owner is very communicative and does her best to make sure everything goes smoothly. One note of caution, the driveway is VERY steep and if your vehicle doesn't have good ground clearance it's difficult to avoid scraping the bottom.

Three levels of a perfect family vacation! Everyone had plenty of space to gather, and space to retreat when a nap was needed. Beautiful home, and all the necessities and amenities provided. Two lovely den/family rooms meant the young ones could watch football, and the elders could watch a movie. We couldn't have been happier or more comfortable, the two poochies were in heaven too! Lovely lakefront neighborhood.

Wonderful stay. Lakefront. Plenty of room for big family. Kids loved using the floating dock for jumping into the clear lake.

Lots of space with a well appointed kitchen. Deep water directly off dock, perfect for floating. Conveniently located to both Hayesville and Hiawassee. Very comfortable home that you and your family will love!

"Wake up in the Trees" was the perfect home for our family vacation. The house was very well appointed and clean Each family member commented on the comfort of the beds. Rachel was quick to respond to any questions we had. A bathroom was conveniently located on each level. This rental was everything we hoped it would be. If we ever vacation again on Lake Chatuge we would gladly request this lovely home as our stay again.

We had a great time during our stay. The kitchen is well stocked with every pot, pan, or utensil you need. The beds and linens were clean and comfortable. The deck, gazebo, and dock were amazing as well. We would consider this property for a return trip.

We were unable to get the downstairs fireplace to light during our stay. That was the only mishap. The home met all of our needs and was close to many fun things to do, even in very cold weather. We loved it!

Will definitely rent this house again.

My family took a last minute trip this past weekend. Rachel was very quick to respond on Friday and arranged for her cleaning crew to show up same day so that we could check in Friday night. Other houses would not even allow a reservation without 48 hours notice, so we were very grateful Rachel was so accommodating! The place was just as described, warm and comfortable with a fully stocked kitchen where we shared family meals with my parents who live in nearby Hiawassee. This is a rental house that has the feel of one of your favorite relative's homes. The bedrooms were spacious and well laid out if you need space for multiple families. The little gazebo near the lake has a gas fireplace where we roasted marshmallows for smores, much to the delight of my son. The entire rental process was quick and easy, even in a last minute situation. The smoke from the wild fires was heavy one day and light another day, it just depends on the change in wind, but we brought a puzzle and kept warm and cozy inside. The house is plenty big enough to roam around and even play hide and seek. Thanks for a great weekend on the lake! We hope to return when we can enjoy more time outside on the dock and amazing decks.
