Shari and Chuck are the very best hosts. We really enjoyed our stay at their home. It had everything that we needed and more. The tropical patio was so much fun when we had family over. We slept great to the sound of the ocean and the February breeze that blew into our room. We will be back!

An amazing and relaxing vacation!

This place has the essentials for a complete experience at (in my opinion) the best beach on Oahu. The distance to the beach is about a 100 steps. The only negative is during the heat of the day the rooms can get warm. The hosts do provide a number of fans which keep the air moving. Shari and Chuck are wonderful and attentive hosts.

We loved the location! Three houses away from the beach is awesome. Although there is no designated parking spot, with the rental being located on a private street we had no issues with parking. The rental was very warm. The small portable ac unit and fans were helpful but even with them, the unit was still very warm. Not very breezy because of the privacy wall surrounding the rental. The closeness to Kailua town was great, just a short drive away to awesome stores and food. We would stay there again in a heartbeat if the unit was completely air conditioned and if they got new beds. Shari and Charles were very kind and welcoming during our whole stay. We enjoyed the conversations with them. They are great hosts. Very accommodating and helpful.

Great location, fantastic host in one of the best beach towns in the world

We were able to enjoy Cheri and Chuck’s Kailua home for over two weeks and it pained us to leave. The house was exactly 100 steps from the entrance to one of the most beautiful private beaches you can find…enough said. The house was warm..being July…but had a small room ac unit and plenty of fans…which helped a bit. Other than that, the home had a fun vibe rage Hawaiian beachy feel. We loved it! This location was incredible! The proximity to private access to the beach, the comfortable homie feel of the house, the friendly and helpfulness of the owners, the breathtaking Lanai!!! This place was amazing! If you are looking for a spot to get away and feel like it's private and tropical but be close to everything, then this is the spot!!! I highly recommend this place! I'd give it a 10 if I could!

Just 2 houses from the beach with a private path only accessible to the people on the street. We loved our stay for a family of 5. Kailua is the best beach on Oahu!

This property was wonderful and I highly recommend it. Most importantly, the beach is a 30 second walk. There are boogie boards, towels, bags, and chairs to use. It is a 5-10 minute drive to restaurants and shopping in a charming small town. It is also only 30-40 minutes from the city (airport, Waikiki, Pearl Harbor.) We were able to drive all over the island from our house. Any time we needed the owners, Shari responded immediately. This cute home made our vacation so enjoyable!

This apartment has lots of room and everything we needed. The location can’t be beat and the host was helpful and friendly. That said, the place is old and in need of a good bit of updating and maintenance of furnishings and appliances.

We had such a lovely time in this home. It is 122 steps from the beach entrance (I counted). The property is spacious and comfortable, the back patio is a beautiful, relaxing secret garden, and Shari and Charles are warm, kind, and available if there is ever a concern. I would absolutely recommend and we will try to book this property again in the future.

This place was just what we needed. You are away from the busy city and literally a 3 minute walk to a beautiful beach. The area was lovey and we will definitely be returning.

Very nice owner great great location needs updating

This unit is a very short (half a block) walk to a private gate to a gorgeous beach. You can go watch the sunrise with your morning coffee, take long beach walks, swim, play in the waves, boogie board. The private patio is wonderful for dining. The living room iis big. I love it here!

If you are looking for a nice quiet place to stay with easy beach access, this is it. The property is bigger than it looks and has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The beach is about 100 yards away and is not crowded at all. The hosts were so nice and let us use their sand toys for our 2 year-old. The back porch was perfect for hanging out without having to leave. There is a park and a coffee shop walking distance (.5 miles) and tons of restaurants and grocery stores less than 3 miles away. Just book it, you won't regret it.

Property is very dated, but with a nice private yard and a very short walk to the beach. The kitchen is poorly outfitted (e.g. random dishes and utensils, no easy way to wash up) and the furniture is in need of cleaning or replacement. Nothing in the cupboards, not even salt or pepper. There is only one bedroom, not two as advertised. The second bedroom is an alcove off the living area. Not private. Helpful hostess.

My family and I stayed here in early February. Amazing location and awesome hosts. Shari and Chuck were friendly and inviting. The location could not be better to the most beautiful beach!! Lots of amenities and plenty of space for all 4 of us. Will definitely be staying here again!

We had a great time in Kailua in our recent vacation in January 2021. The weather was windy but we liked it since we enjoy kiteboarding. Kailua beach is one of the nicest beaches anywhere. The rental house had everything we needed and was located very close to the beach with access through a private gate. The hosts were very friendly and easy to communicate with. My husband and I absolutely adored our stay at this property. The description is very accurate. The back wall of living room and dining room is all glass sliding doors and full length windows. You look onto a lush, tropical, well-landscaped patio garden that is incredibly beautiful. It made hanging out in the living or dining room feel as if you were outside in a tropical rain forest. You can also hear the waves breaking on the beach, which is a ½ block away, literally a 2-minute walk away. The hosts provide several beach chairs, a boogie board and a standup paddle board to use. There is a wide tree at the beach that offers lots of shade, so no need to get a beach umbrella. It's more crowded under the shade on weekends than on weekdays, when there is practically no one there. The beach itself is wide and long and one of the most beautiful on Oahu. There are lots of windows and fans, plus a portable AC off the kitchen and dining room, so we had no trouble with heat, as some reviewers have complained. The one smaller bedroom has no windows, but does have 2 door openings at each end and, with all the ceiling fans and portable fans in the unit, heat should not be an issue even in the summer. The master bedroom king bed was very comfortable (and I'm picky on that sort of thing) and again had plenty of ventilation. The room was spacious and had lots of light. This rental unit is a separate apartment attached to a larger house that the owners, Shari and Chuck, live in. They were extremely nice and helpful and made themselves available should something come up (which didn't) but at the same time they gave us our privacy. Shari is a gem and we loved chatting with her. They've lived there 27 years and have taken loving care of the place. We would definitely come back here the next time on Oahu. My perfect beach vacation is to be able to walk out and be right on a beautiful beach, to be able to run back and grab a bite to eat, use the bathroom, etc. This place is it and at a very reasonable price.

So close to the beach you can hear the waves crashing at night! Everything you need was provided (beach towels, boards, beach chairs). We loved that there was a washing machine so we didn’t have to pack as much. Shari and Chuck are friendly, kind, and helpful. We loved it here and didn’t want to leave! Thank you for a wonderful place to stay. :)

I was visiting my boyfriend in the Marines and the house and location were fantastic. Perfect space and close proximity to the base and the beach! Shari and Chuck were incredible..we enjoyed meeting and talking with them upon our arrival. We will definitely be back!

Our stay at Kalama Tract Kailua was fantastic we would definitely recommend this beautiful beach house. Our hosts were so accommodating and responded to any concerns immediately. All your beach and household needs are provided even beach chairs and towels! A short walk to a beautiful beach that even our handicap guest was able to navigate. Great location! Beach is beautiful! Hosts are easy to reach and very responsive. There are 2 pack-n-plays available. No central ac as expected, but we were not prepared for how hot it would be in October. There is a window ac unit in the main living area, which was much appreciated.

This place is located very close to the beach with private entrance. Shari is very nice, friendly and helpful.
