criffel cottage was super clean and comfortable. it was equipped with everything you could possibly need and had great attention to detail. we travel extensively in uk and Europe with our athlete son and this is one of the best properties we have stayed in.

It was self catering. The location was good and not too far from town. But loved the cottage overall. The host was always helpful, and just an email, phone call or text away, if needed and there was nothing to fault. The cottage was very comfy and warm, and the games room was a bonus which kept our grown up kids entertained! The cottage had everything! It's in a nice quiet lane so it was good for our grown up kids, both of whom have autism and learning disabilities. Lovely big garden to enjoy when the sun did make an appearance. Well equipped kitchen with everything you need. This has to be the best holiday home we have stayed in by far. It was nice to have our own drive too. I would definitely be back and would recommend.

The long walk back from the town centre. It's not as easy as you think. Especially for older folk. And not a great bus service. The rain shower is a bit temperamental but didn't bother us, as we didn't use. But if there were any problems, Janice was just a phone call or text away.

Excellent position, near the town centre, in a quiet lane. Big, spacious and comfortable rooms. Big garden at the rear. Ample off road parking. Well equipped with everything you could need. Janice is a great host and very quick to respond. Our second time in this lovely house, and it has become our first choice when staying in the area.

This was our second visit to Criffel cottage and it was even better than we remembered. The house is very well equipped, handy for town and Dumfries makes a perfect base for touring. Once again everything went smoothly and the welcome pack and fresh potatoes were a nice touch. The beautiful weather was a bonus and allowed us to fully enjoy the large garden.

The cottage was a home from home Spacious: 2 bathrooms were a treat: fully equipped with everything you could ever need: secure parking and best of all a huge garden where we could sit out in the sun … and the invitation from the owner to pick the ripe good berries!

We travelled as 4 adults and 2 young children, so the 2 bathrooms were perfect. They had everything for children from ball games, kids archery, board games, even a baby gate. There was a fantastic park just a 10 minute walk.. Dock Park with trampolines for the kids, a pkay park, a cafe toilets. Overall a great location for a family holiday and only about 30 mins drive to the beach.

We stayed at the cottage for a week, we quickly settled in and it felt like home. This is an indication of the facilities that were available at the property. The bed linen and towels were of the highest quality and what you would find at a high quality hotel. The host, Janice, kept in touch and was attentive to anything she may do to help during our stay.

The cottage was very warm and welcoming and everything was provided for you which was a wonderful surprise
