Lovely sea and mountain views, spacious Portree home
Willkommen in diesem geräumigen und komfortablen Zuhause. Dieses Haus hat einen atemberaubenden Blick von allen großen Fenstern auf die Bucht und die Berge. Die vier Schlafzimmer (ein Kingsize-Bett, zwei Doppelzimmer und ein großes Zweibettzimmer) verfügen über Standardbetten und neue Matratzen. Es gibt drei neue Bäder, eines davon mit eigenem Bad. Eine Wohnküche ist gut ausgestattet mit Kochutensilien sowie einem Geschirrspüler, einer Waschmaschine und einem Trockner. Es gibt einen separaten Essbereich für acht Personen mit Blick auf die Bucht und eine Lounge, in der Sie einen gemütlichen Kaminofen genießen oder das wechselnde Licht über dem Wasser und den Bergen beobachten können, während sich die Gezeiten bewegen. Portree ist ein lebhafter und malerischer Ort mit einem lebhaften Hafen, vielen Geschäften und Restaurants und umgeben von atemberaubenden Meereslandschaften, Bergen und Landschaften. Es gibt einen Wald- und Hügelweg direkt von unserem Haus aus, sowie schöne Küstenwanderwege von Portree, die nur 10 Minuten zu Fuß entfernt sind. Portree ist ein guter Ausgangspunkt, um die Isle of Skye zu erkunden. Der Old Man of Storr ist nur eine kurze Autofahrt entfernt, ebenso wie der berühmte Cuillin und andere, weniger bekannte, aber wunderschöne Orte in der Nähe. Es gibt eine gute Auswahl an Restaurants und Pubs in Portree, von denen einige keltische Musik und Speisen aus der Region bieten, sowie ein Kunstzentrum und ein Kino, ein Innenpool.

We had our entire family, including a son-in-law and grandson with us -- all eight! It was a great time for family connection. The entire space was excellent for the family meal together in one room, and the family room was perfect for evening games. Location was perfect with a view of the water, and location to all the best hiking on Skye. Everything worked great, and Alex was very attentive to a couple of needs during the stay!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. We would rate it a 10 if possible. The space was fantastic for 4 of us traveling together. The location was excellent to work out of while visiting all of Isle of Skye. This is a gem and we highly recommend it. Book right away so you do lot lose the opportunity to stay here.

There was plenty of room in this great house. Being from the USA, we had to get acquainted with a few things like the showers which had to be activated via a switch in the hall. View was lovely; not really walkable to town but very close by taxi.

A great house with a stunning view! We loved our stay and it was a fantastic base camp to explore the Isle of Skye! The house was very comfortable and perfect for our family of 8. Extremely convenient and incredibly easy from day 1. We highly recommend!

This accommodation provided several spacious and comfortable rooms for all seven members of my family. There was laundry services on site, which were easy to use and instructions were left everywhere for ease-of-use. The view was beautiful and one of the major draws for booking this home. Highly recommend this home if staying in Portree.

Our group of 7 friends had an amazing stay at Alex's house in Portree on Isle of Skye. The house is beautiful, fully equipped, and has the most amazing views of the water and surrounding mountains. We had plenty of space to gather in the common room and adjoining dining room and everyone slept comfortably in the spacious bedrooms. Alex was extremely helpful with a very minor issue when we arrived (tripped breaker) that we resolved quickly. The location in general is fantastic for getting to all the major things to do on Skye. I cannot recommend this house enough!

Our family of 5 (2 adults, 3 kids) had a fantastic stay at this property. The views are gorgeous and the interior very spacious. Aromatic rose bushes all along the front of the house too! It was a very easy 15min walk into town. Washer/dryer worked well. Showers always had hot water. Bedrooms had blackout curtains so we always had a good nights sleep.
This property was a bit of a splurge for us, but Skye has been on my bucket list for awhile & I was hooked by the views in the pictures -- the real views are even more stunning and it was very nice how the sofa and tables are arranged so we could always see outside.
It was tricky pulling out of the property because cars at the nearby gas station frequently blocked the view. It would be super helpful if a mirror were installed across the street.
I would happily stay here again and recommend it to others.

We had a wonderful stay at this home. There is a breathtaking view from every room! Plenty of space for my in laws, us and our 2 children. Fantastic location - easy walk to town for dinner and shopping. Could not have asked for anything more! Highly recommend this house. It's the perfect home base for exploring the Isle of Skye! The house was just as advertised and it was lovely. The photos don’t do the amazing view justice, and the house is also much bigger than I thought it would be! It was incredibly clean and Alex was great to communicate with! We hope to come back for another stay!

We had amazing time staying at this place , it was just perfect for family including babies , they enjoyed a lot. House is just fabulous . Babies had a blast and enjoyed a lot , especially the morning sunrise and dancing on guitar that was kept in the house . We had huge snowstorm on last day and it made us worried about changing our plan and possibly delaying return flight but our host Alex helped immediately and she made extra calls late evening and provided us extra hands to clear out the driveway so we could leave on time . Thanks to all of u and we will be definitely revisiting in future !

The photographs of the house don’t do it justice. The views are spectacular. The house was very clean. Each room was well stocked with bed linen and towels. Kitchen had everything we needed. It was nice to have some dishwasher tablets and washing pods too although there was a large grocery store just up the road.
Only slight negative was coming out of property onto main road. The property is at the side of a Gulf service station and the line of sight for oncoming traffic was sometimes blocked due to people parking at the side. A mirror at the other side of the road to see oncoming traffic would be helpful. You just have to be aware and careful.

Lovely Property
We had a lovely stay, the house had everything we needed and comfortably accommodated 6 adults, the downstairs bedrooms/bathrooms were perfect for our elderly parents. The accommodation was clean and the bedrooms were extremely comfortable. The view was fantastic and constantly changing. We would definitely stay here again.

Comfortable base for touring Skye
Owner was great at communicating throughout and v helpful. We found the house itself average, the decor felt a bit tired and the cleanliness was below average. It felt expensive for what it was. That said the views from the back are beautiful and the log burner kept us cosy. It was a good 15 minute walk into Portree from the house.

Lovely house with plenty of room for 8 adults. The kitchen was sufficiently equipped to cook meals and had a washer and dryer to do our laundry. Great view of water and mountains. Only downside was that the pillows were too soft for my comfort. Overall, it was a great place to stay.

The four bedrooms, three baths were all clean and comfortable. The common quarters were a welcome respite after a day of hiking around Skye. And the views....simply breathtaking! We could have easily spent a week or more at this location.
Alex was phenomenal about responding in a timely manner and so incredibly helpful with details and directions. The local market is just around the corner if you wish to cook a few meals at home (the kitchen has everything you need for cooking) and the house is equipped with washer and dryer in case you are in need of laundry.
Even though the property is off of the main road, it was well insulated and quiet inside. The couple of days we spent there were some of the most peaceful and pleasant of our entire trip. We would definitely return and recommend the property highly.

Great Property
Property is in great shape and with a 15 minute walk to the city center. The only thing missing was soap/body wash in bathrooms, didn't expect we needed to provide that.

Just as advertised!
Recently remodeled the home sits just below the main road leading into Portree. There is one house below that uses the same driveway but there was only the occasional car going by. The house below in no way blocks the super views across the bay to Portree and beyond. Downtown Portree is just a 10 - 15 minute walk away while a large Co-Op grocery is less then a 5 minute drive away. In summary, a great house in a great location.

This is a lovely house with stunning views.
The house was spacious with plenty of room for 2 adults and 3 children. Lots of books provided as well as some board games and DVDs.
It's also in a good location, only a 10 minute walk to Portree.

Beautiful and Comfortable with Views You Won't Believe
This is one of the loveliest houses we've ever visited--the views are lovely, and house is large and roomy. It's great for a family--adults, teenagers, and seven-year-old were all delighted. The host was very responsive and helpful, and everything about the experience was smooth. It's a nice walk to town, and I highly recommend doing the walk to The Lump described in the guestbook. Skye is beautiful, and if we come back, we wouldn't stay anywhere else.
