I loved staying here

The home has a lot of potential, and we enjoyed our stay. The pool and back porch are very enjoyable. And it does have a distant view of the ocean. It also had a nice mattress in the main bedroom, and had a lot of fun toys, games, and things there for the family to use. I typically avoid making reviews that are negative, but I do need to share that the home was advertised as being recently updated. This was clearly not true. It might have been updated 10 years ago. It also had a broken oven with the door falling off, a cooktop that didn’t work, and the refrigerator had also broken and was replaced with a small refrigerator that didn’t have a freezer. We were celebrating my mothers 76 birthday, so this made it difficult to do things like ice cream or cook meals for the family. We reached out to the owner/manager about the concerns, and our requests were essentially ignored, and when we did finally get a response, we were told that a credit would be issued. But he could not give specifics, and had to wait until after he was paid by VRBO first. We patiently waited, and then we’re told no credit would be issued. I feel we would have been able to give a good review if the manager had simply been honest about the property not actually updated, and made some kind of attempt to help us with the cook top. But it was actually insulting when we were promised a credit for our troubles and then no credit was issued. I am confident that I am not a perfect house guest. I had children and dogs. But we didn’t break anything, and we picked up the house, washed the dishes, had the towels and linens in piles to make it easier for their cleaner. The only thing we think we might have missed was some pet waste in the dog run area. But, there was already pet waste there when we arrived,

Very nice place to stay for your vacation. The host was reachable at all times. Definitely a place to visit again in the near future.

10/10 communication with owner. Lovely Villa, clean and tidy. Exceedingly quiet location. 100% need a car but we hoofed it around the area and found some jems of cafe's and restaurants.

Absolutely adored our stay at Villa Rohan, came with everything we could have needed to have fun inside and outside such as an Xbox and pool floaties! Caroviero is an expensive place so it was lovely to be able to stay in and cook ourselves food. If a washing machine guide could be added to the information packet it would be much appreciated as we were too scared to break the machine to try and wash our towels!

Really enjoyed staying at this villa, area was nice and had nice shops surrounding it. Would definitely recommend

La maison correspondait a l’annonce mais le mobilier de jardin et de la maison étaient dégradés (chaises de jardin cassées, tables et chaises de maison cassées…) Nous avons quand même passé un bon séjour. L’hôte devrais venir pour changer le mobilier et la maison serait très bien.

Maison avec tout le nécessaire pour y séjourner. Piscine au top !!! Maison situé dans un endroit très calme et très agréable. Aurait juste besoin d'une petite retouche au niveau mobilier.

We have had a lovely stay here in sesmarias. The welcome pack included milk and bread but there was nothing included to make tea or coffee on arrival so a top tip would be to do your shop at inermarche before arriving and that way you have everything you need from the start. There is also a lovely little shop just up the road which has most provisions to tide you over. The TV freeview only has 18 channels which are mostly BBC or ITV so if you have kids it would pay to bring some DVD or games for the PlayStation The main road can get quite busy at times and as the driveway is quite high at its apex, we found it easier to park round the corner to avoid any speeding locals. Whilst carviero is not that far away a hire car is a must as it’s just a little to far away for a walk. The bar at the top of the street is well worth a visit, the drinks are very reasonable and it’s quite nice just to sit and chat over a cold beer. Spirits are quite expensive although they only seem to serve triples which is probably why!!! This villa is a very private location which has a lovely view, the pool is really nice and we loved the view after a swim as well as just reading on the patio outside the living room. A nice time for us and we would come again.

Die Villa war sehr schön eingerichtet. Da vorher schon ein wenig Nahrungsmittel in der Küche vorhanden waren, mussten wir nicht ganz so viel einkaufen. Das Pool war herrlich zum Abkühlen, nur leider war es nicht all zu sauber. Die Lage der Villa war okay. Um die Ecke gab es gute Restaurants und einen kleinen Supermarkt. Leider waren wir zu weit weg vom Strand um zu Fuß hin zu gehen. Also mussten wir mit dem Auto fahren, was aber nicht ganz so leicht war, da der Randstein zu hoch war um überhaupt den Parkplatz im Vorgarten nützen zu können (wir parkten also um die Ecke). Im großen und ganzen ist die Villa für mind. 5 Personen weiterzuempfehlen. ps: von der Dachterrasse aus kann man den wunderschönen Sonnenuntergang mit Meerblick betrachten!

Er is geen airco in de slaapkamers. het interieur is heel erg oud. de kastjes ruiken muf. stoelpoten staan scheef. stopcontacten zitten los. positief: goede wifi, fijn zwembad, leuke patio.

This is a lovely villa with loads of space and a beautiful pool/ terrace area. There are shops and restaurants in walking distance (even for children) and the beach is a short drive away. The directions to the villa are a little hard to follow we suggest putting Restaurante Hexagone into your sat nav which is further down the road as we struggled to put in the villa address.

Das Haus hat alles, was man braucht. Maria schaut 2mal die Woche vorbei (Reinigung/Wäsche wenn nötig)! Herrliche Umgebung (nur 5-15 Minuten von den Stränden weg)! Supermärkte in der Nähe! Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Goed geregeld, mooi en relaxed verblijf. Alles is aanwezig, snelle reactie verhuurder, poolman en huishoudster. Echt een aanrader

The whole family ( all 5 ) stayed for a week in Julians villa. It has a beautiful pool and form the roof terrace you can see the sea. Equipped with everything you can think of, from left handed golf clubs, to a playstation & games, (much to the boys great pleasure). Just minutes from shops, the tennis club / gym and of course some great beaches. if I was pushed to say something that wasn't 100% ideal, it would be reversing the cars out of the drive onto the main road.

Villa was spotlessly clean and Maria came into clean twice a week which was really good while we were there. Pool lovely and the garden and sunbathing area gets the sun all day. I have to agree with the previous review that the patio door to the main bedroom did not lock and the saucepan handles were loose and quite dangerous if cooking. There are four really good restaurants within walking distance of the villa which were excellent. Great supermarkets in Lagoa which are a short car journey from Sesmarias. Local supermarket is small but has basics. This was the first time we had been in Portugal and really enjoyed the villa and its location. Would definitely go back.

Did not meet Maria until mid week when we raised our concerns about the contents of the villa. Arriving. In 37 degree heat 2 of the 4 fans were not working. The patio door to the main bedroom did not lock. The main cafetière was broken and we screwed back handles on the saucepan. When our 4yr old granddaughter needed the child bed it was broken so she had to sleep in a cot as she could not share a room with her 14 yr old autistic brother. These will all be put right when "Julian comes in September"! I am trying to be fair here -the kids enjoyed the pool and the wi -fi was good. Maria was charming although it is a pity she did not tell us that the water being off on the Sunday was a neighbourhood problem which would have saved us contacting the owners.

The villa was set in lovely gardens and had absolutely everything you need to dine in, barbeque and relax in. It is set outside the main town with just a few shops and bars near by. Having a car would be ideal but the local taxis is very reasonable and reliable. We had a great family holiday.

Lovely villa with everything you could possibly need. Well maintained with lovely views and a great swimming pool. Two or three restaurants in the village and a supermarket and many others a short drive away (taxis inexpensive). Beautiful walks surround the villa and it is situated in a beautiful area of Portugal. Would highly recommend.

Our holiday was great lovely villa close to lots of beaches local bars and and restaurant and well stocked shop in walking distant and short drive to cavorieo and supermarket. Weather was beautiful .

We are a family of 5 persons. We where in the villa for 14 days. 5 minutes in one direction to town and 5 in the other to the beach. but we loved the pool. Special thanks to Maria the cleaning lady. Plenty to do in the nearby towns, kayaking, Pirate boat, & waterpark. Thanks Julian for all the on spot help and info about things to do and places to eat.

Without doubt an amazing place to stay with the family. Fantastic facilities, lovely pool for the kids, and enough local attractions within a stones thrown to ensure long drives were not required every day. Whilst we were there, the kids settled in as if it were in their own home, and still talk about it now. The wife and I really enjoyed the honesty of the property; clean, spacious and well equipped. Everything thing we could think of was there, so we didn't waste any of our time buying things we would only use once. All in all we loved our time there, and we will definitely be coming back next year. Thanks Julian for an amazing family holiday. The Williams Family

We are a norwegian family consisting of 2 children (15 and 8), 2 parents and a grandfather. The villa suited our needs perfectly. With 2 bathrooms, 3 bedrooms, double airconditioned and a Kitchen with all nessesary facilities. Pool fitting as one end is not as deep, while other end is deep. Our youngest actually used this pool to get really comfortable in the water, which was great :D. In addition to providing us with a very enjoyable villa I would also like to mention that the process of renting it was really good. Julian (the owner) was very nice, service minded and honest all along the process. We are now back in Norway, deposit reimbursed (without having to dunn for it I might add) I will conclude this summers holiday a huge success thanks to Julian and his Villa. Thank You! I would not hessitate at all to re-rent this villa if I in the future wish to visit Algarve, Portugal again. Although I would preffer parking a car to be slightly easier than for this Villa, it was more than enough space to park a car the size of an Opel Astra station wagon. Last but not least I have to mention Maria, the maid/cleaning lady (no offence intended if the official title is wrong). She managed to befriend both my father (the grandfather), us two parents and both my kids. Kind, trustworthy and service minded :D Yours sincerely Tommy Akre

I went to this beautiful villa for a long weekend for my birthday with 4 friends. Really a perfect holiday villa, plenty of space, nice & modern Kitchen/Bathrooms, a great sized pool and a fantastic roof terrace. There is a beach about 5/10 minutes drive away and an intermarche with everything you could need a similar distance from the Villa. Equally, there was a mini-mart up the road for the essentials. The owner also provided an information pack which, among other things, had a list of local restaurants which were described and rated. Really useful. I'd recommend this to groups/families of 5 or 6 but the Villa could easily sleep 9 (there's a camper bed, a sofa bed and with some sharing of the double beds, it's doable.) A great place and a great trip.

Nice and straight forward holiday villa with everything you need! 5 minutes in one direction to town and five in the other to a beach. Had everything we needed and had been recently refurbed. Would recommend!
