This was the 2nd time the family has stayed at this house. Once in July once in November. It has plenty of space along with 5 bathrooms. I would book this house again.

I was a little nervous booking this location for our mini-family reunion due to the mixed reviews. DO NOT EVEN HESITATE!! The Boss' Playhouse is perfect in every way!! We were a family of 4 adult couples (ages 21-65), 3 college kids and one 12 year old (12 people total). There was plenty of space for everyone and despite spending an entire week together, we had enough space to never get on each other's nerves. The house was immaculate, plenty of linens and towels were provided (we paid for the linen service), the pool and hot tub were fabulous (and used every, single day of our weeklong stay!) We walked to the beach every day with no issues (including our 65 year old patriarch, so not sure why people were complaining about the distance to the beach?!) Conveniently located close to plenty of good restaurants to eat at and the grocery store. We will most definitely be returning!

We did not arrive till late on Saturday. Right off, there were multiple issues: ants in kitchen, kitchen faucet handle was broken off, many lightbulbs were burnt out including carport lights which were needed for keyless entry & 2nd floor master's sliding door lock was broken. On Sunday, I sent an email & left message with no response. Later I called again and spoke to someone who sent someone out same day. He fixed all issues & even left more deck chairs. They offered to have someone come out and spray for ants, but we did not want that chemical smell; so we bought some safe scentless indoor ant spray. The bedrooms were roomy & provided plenty of storage & all bathrooms were clean & worked properly. The lower level provided lots of entertainment with a pool table & comfy couches for movies. The pool and hot tub were great. A gas grill was provided but there was no propane in the tank; we bought some at Lowe's & were promptly refunded. Great location, close to beach access & plenty of room for our family to spread out and enjoy. Wish bath & kitchen towels were provided; so that was an additional $270 charge. Some of the appliances were dated and in dire need of replacement (dryer & dishwasher). Also, would have been nice/considerate if someone would check house between rentals to fix & be aware of issues (door lock not working, multiple burnt-out lights/lamps, no propane, broken faucet, etc). Overall, we had a wonderful time, had great weather, and enjoyed spending family time at the beach.

Nice house for our large family. We had issues with the hot tub that was repaired right away. The ice maker in the kitchen does not make ice very quick and the faucet on the kitchen sink needs to be replaced. It came off in my hand! Just minor things but overall we had a great time. Our family has grown this last year so we are looking for a bigger house.

For starters, the home was not ready when we got there. Apparently, cleaning crew quit & just failed to show up. Dirty linens were not picked up & sat outside for days. Many light bulbs didnt work, and there were no working outside lights, so we couldnt enjoy the pool at night. I called to report a clogged drain in 2nd floor master shower. No response. 3rd floor fridge and freezer died on Thursday. Reported 3 times and NEVER fixed. We lost 7 pounds of hamburger, 3 pounds of chicken, and various other frozen convenience foods. We spent 2 days running down to the 1st floor fridge to cook on the 3rd floor. What a pain! Most disappointing is that NO ONE bothered to correct this issue. Doubt we will use this house again. And we will probably use a different rental company moving forward. Not a good experience for the amount of money we paid.

My wife, our daughters, grandchilderen and great granchildren had a wonderful week staying in Kill Devil Hills at The Boss's Playhouse. The property was very spacious and had plenty of full baths. The kids enjoyed the pool and the hot tub. The location is very convenient to the beach, shopping, and restaurants. The house was tastefully decorated wth a well stocked kitchen for making meals daily. T.V.'s in every bedroom as well as the grand room and the basement complete with a pool table. There is a gas grill as well as a charcoal grill. There is a basketball set up in the driveway. Plenty of off road parking. The entire family (including our two Pugs)thoroughly enjoyed the accomodations at the OBX this year. Will be booking again for next year,

The house layout is great. Location is great. That being said. The maintance was terrible. Downstairs sink leaked. Made the downstairs smell. A smell that would make you gag. It took 2 1/2 days to get this fixed. Plumber never did show up to fix the sink. Pool went green after 2 days there. I cleaned the pool pump filer myself. You can tell it hasn't been taken care of for a while. Hot tub dirty from day one. Toilet seat too small for the toilet. So when you sit down , you sit on the rim(disgusting). Internet wifi took 4 days to figure out. Window by the pool table leaked when it rained. Dishwasher ran for 5 hours, come to find out it was plugged up. Shower drains plugged with hair(nasty, it's called draino). I was VERY dissatisfied for $4000. Maintenance is terrible. The people answering the phone were very nice, but nothing got fixed other than the carpet.

We were very pleased with the property. The house is lovely, very spacious, comfy beds, loved the downstairs! The few minor problems we had were quickly addressed. I am very impressed with Beach Realty's service. It would be nice if the owners would get some nice deck furniture. 2 chairs per deck is not enough for a house this size.

Huge disappointment, not clean, needs maintenance big time
Upon checking in I noticed garbage outside of the front door, cigarette butts everywhere outside and around the pool deck, the carpet is an off white and complete stained and disgusting. The step to the crows nest was broken and left there unfixed, the fridge struggles to work when you are loading it, the ends of the pool table are broken off, there were burnt out lights, lamps not working, a huge picture fell off the wall while we were at the beach onto the bed one day. Only half the toaster works, one of the large burners on the stove doesn’t work. There is a lot of cooking utensils and basic cookware that is missing, especially when trying to cook for a crowd. There was food left behind by the former visitors, just really makes me question the cleanliness and what kind of inspection is done when people check out and check in is much later (5:30 pm) to allow for extra time to clean? I had to get in contact with the property management company a few times with these issues and then I just got sick of having to call and deal with stuff. Not what I want to spend my vacation doing. The pool guy came by unannounced and let us know the pool had ZERO chlorine in it which was nice given that there is a pandemic, then turns the hose on to fill the pool and leaves the water running for hours. Never came back so I called the property mgmt contact again to ask if we should be shutting it off? Aside from the proximity to the beach and the size, I have nothing good to say about the house and would never stay here again.

Great vacation home
Although the house wasnt cleaned properly when we arrived (hand rails dirty, hair on wall in shower , trash in the outside shower, all the pot holders in drawers were dirty ,ect) we enjoyed our stay and would still stay again and recommend this home for others.
The house and pool was bigger then we expected. It needs some updating, furniture, pots and pans, knives.
Overall we enjoyed this home.

Property is really dated, carpets are shabby and starting to fray in doors, some of the chairs were a little wobbly, stairs to hot tub were broken (appears nails fell out of steps, not broken wood). Crows nest was scary, wood really needs to be looked at. Pool area was great, pool was a nice size, layout of house was nice and met all of our needs. House just really needs some updating and maintenance. Fridge on lower level was nice, beach drinks and snacks were stored. Painting, replacing AC vent covers etc would go a long way. Beach access was much farther than we had expected.

I would definitely stay at Boss's Playhouse again. The home was so much bigger in person. Loved the new mattresses, so comfy. Great ocean views, location was great as it was in a dead end street. Loved all the amenities the home came with. Pool and jacuzzi was refreshing. Everyone in our group had a great time. There's was only a few issues we came across, some of the pickets on the decking were broken and quite dangerous as we had two small children with us. Beach realty sent people out to fix it. But honestly all the decks need to be replaced soon. Pull out couch was broken. The fry pans definitely need replaced. We managed to cook with them, but their definitely nonstick. Water pressure was terrible if you had more than one person showering or washing dishes at the same time. Definitely needs an elevator for 3 flights of steps. Overall I would stay here again and definitely recommend this home to others. Quick location to the nearest public access. Home is decorated and set up very nice.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Boss's Playhouse! The house is very well maintained and provided all of the comforts of home. It was large enough for our entire family to enjoy some quality time together.

Great location. Very spacious
We enjoyed our stay! First night we were there, there was a bad storm and our cable stopped working. Management replaced all boxes only to have the common area still not work. I suppose it was a blessing! We played games every night instead of being glued to a TV!

we love the OBX and the house was in a great location. the house could use some updating, the vanities in the bathrooms are very low, the carpet throughout the home is in very poor condition. the decks could use some love they are prone to splinters. the kitchen was well equipped and the flow of the living areas was great

House is roomy..beds comfy..kitchen well stocked..pool had no lounge furniture..very disappointing..layout of 3rd level bathroom and bedroom with the only pantry storage inside that area and the bathroom toilet view with no door was very embarrassing at times causing us to move the food storage to the counter tops in the kitchen.Location was great.There were a few loose boards in the third floor balcony which made us a bit nervous.Beach Realty was too notch in delivering fresh sheets quickly when I called about stained sheets.They were top notch with inquiries and responses and check in and check out process.Will use this company again.
