This worked out very well for our family of four (10 and 13 years olds). We wanted walkable to beach and restaurants and this was perfect. We were worried it was on a busy road but it is very private and we seldom heard the road.
Beds: the pullout was very comfortable, nice and firm and clean. The master was too soft, warm, and noisy for my tastes, but I slept fine.
The A/C was clutch in August as the house doesn't get much cross flow, it made for nice sleeping and having units in the bedroom and living room was awesome.
The only thing that would keep me from returning (and it probably won't) is the lack of a door to the bedroom. This made privacy impossible in our case and seems like such an oversight in my research of what to expect.
Front and back patios are nice, neighbors were quiet, beach was so close, just a great setup.

Can’t say enough positives about this place, it is better than we even expected. We were road tripping and have a van so a dedicated parking spot was amazing. And once parked, we pretty much walked everywhere. The place is clean, super private, and the beds super comfortable (even the sleeper sofa). A perfect beach cottage. wish we could have stayed longer!

This place was perfect! My husband and I stayed for three nights and would definitely stay again if back in the area. The unit was clean, modern and and conveniently located to everything in La Jolla Shores. 5 minute walk to the beach and the property has shared bikes, chairs and ocean toys to use. Check in was super easy and the host even allowed us an early check in since our flight got in earlier. Definitely stay here!

This is the third time we have stayed in this cottage. It is perfectly located (barely a five minute walk to the ocean), quiet, convenient and peaceful. Beam (vaulted) ceilings give it a warm yet spacious feeling.Lovely AC works gently and we were perfectly comfortable. Would stay there again without a doubt!

Really enjoyed the stay. Short walk to La Jolla Shores and plenty of choices for restaurants around the corner. Accommodations were clean, quiet and peaceful. Check-in was super simple. Highly recommend for an extended getaway any time of year.

We came to LaJolla to visit with family (including our toddler grandson). The location was perfect, the weather was nice, the shops and restaurants were enjoyable, and our accommodations were perfect for the 2 of us - just as expected, clean, and bright. We especially enjoyed watching a hummingbird from the front porch. Communications with the owner were seamless and easy. Very nice welcome book - easy to find what we needed and complete. I look forward to staying there again!

We loved this comfortable bungalow and its excellent location. Everything we needed for cooking was provided, there was a nice swing on the patio by the garden, a small outdoor eating area in the sunshine, and laundry facilities. The rooms were tastefully furnished and of a good size (though not quite as large as the photo suggests). Best of all was the great beach, playground and numerous eating options within easy walking distance. We appreciated using the complementary boogie boards and bikes. It was nice to be on a bus route, and the terrific Birch Aquarium is just a few minutes ride away. We enjoyed a lovely walk to and along the Coastal Trail by one of the Sea Caves, with hundreds of pelicans and sea lions on the rocks. All in all a great spot for a relaxing, fun vacation.

We loved being in walking distance to beach, enjoyed shops and restaurants nearby, and took advantage of beach chairs and gear (provided). We ended up not cooking much bc of small quarters but the place has been updated. It’s comfortable and perfect for bringing your pup.

We stayed here after my wife’s hospitalization as it was close to Scripps. It’s perfect for 2 people. Nice bathroom and living area. There are some nice looking restaurants in the neighborhood that we couldn’t try as she was unable to be out very long. It was very helpful to have a washer and dryer.

Really enjoyed the bungalow. The best features were the location and parking. It is literally 5-7 minute walk to the beach and a shorter walk to a nice little strip of bars and restaurants. The unit itself was also nice.

We enjoyed our stay very much. We found the place very well landscaped, clean, and close to everything we wanted to do. The only downside to the location is that it is on a busy street so we can hear the traffic noise during busy times.
There are just a few minor things that could use some care: 1. Lighting in the living room. There is an overhead light but it was very dimmed and the standing light was not enough for the space. The bathroom was very dimmed because one of the bulbs was out. I texted Rose but did not recieve a response. We made do with what we had. 2. The beds need attention. The masterbed was very noisy when getting into and out of bed. It makes getting out of bed in the middle of the night very frustrating because it wakes up everyone. And the sofa bed was lumpy. My daughter chose to sleep on the sofa instead. 3. The front door is sticky. We couldn't close that door without slamming it shut. This cause difficulties when my husband leaves early for his workout, the door wakes everyone up.
Overall, we enjoyed out stay and we would stay here again.

We loved staying at this property. We were walking distance from all our favorite restaurants and shops! It was comfortable and quiet at night. We didn’t spend much time in the day as we were on the beach the entire time. With accessible parking and being able to walk to the beach, it took away all the stress of getting to the beach each day. And the property management was so fast to handle our message about a slow drain. It was fixed same-day and continued to enjoy our stay. We will come again!

Our family has been coming back to this small collection of bungalows for multiple reasons. I feel at home when I come through the door. It is our families small private space. The bungalow has the things our family needs comfortable beds, one king sized and then the fold out couch for my sun. The kitchen is functional with all the utensils we need. Speaking as the lazy one out of the family it would be nice to see a small dishwasher in the kitchen, but not absolutely necessary.

I spent ten days here for work and sightseeing on the weekends. The property has a great, central location from which to explore SD and surrounding areas. My daughter joined me for three days and loved it as well. The owner is very responsive! The place is well-equipped for cooking and other domestic activities. My only advice to the owner is to deep-clean it between clients.

Loud, dirty, stinky and small. Disgusting and definitely not worth it. 🥴🤢🤮
First issue was that the kitchen faucet broke. It wouldn't shut off and water poured onto the kitchen floor. Rose and her staff were very responsive to the issue which is good, turns out there were lots of them. For instance, very soon after that the circuit popped and the keypad went out, making it impossible to unlock the gate. We had to climb over fence to get in!
While the posting says the units are remodeled, would say more like they were refreshed, and cheaply. It must've been awhile ago, because the filth of the place is overwhelming. Part of it might be the grime that occurs from being so close to a busy road and intersection. However, moving the couch cushions uncovered a horrific and gag worthy smell. After resetting the circuit when the washing machine popped it, found a couple inches think of black hair clogging the dryer vent, and also filling the vacuum. Have a suspicion that many of the odors might be attributed to whatever creature was inhabiting the place, previously. There are many stains on couch, so we covered the uncomfortable thing. Don't lie on it! It's very gross and smelly. We also removed the area rug and set outside due to the stains and smell wafting from it continually.
Besides the dirt, grime, hair and fuzz embedded in everything- like door frames, window sills, drawers and shelves- there were excremental odors from the sewer backing up. This became very pronounced when all units are occupied so keep the dust-encrusted box fan handy!
Continuing on with dirty and disgusting there was trash littering the property: bag of dog poo, beer can, waded paper- no telling what you may find on your way out the door.
Living near the shore one should be ready for some insects yet the cockroaches and other creatures crawling about were a bit shocking all the same. So was the mold inside the A/C unit. Be careful what you touch.
The place is in walking distance to shops and the beach. It is also near a big, busy intersection. The road outside the unit is pretty busy, and it intersects nearby with the main artery in/out of the area. Idling busses, construction, motorcycles and all sorts of vehicles roll by on the steel river that is pretty difficult to tune out.
Being in a four-plex with thin walls, a bit surprised by how little we heard the neighbors. But you do hear them.
Definitely not good for business, nor long-term. We asked to change our reservation and since it's a strict policy, was denied. Couldn't wait to leave!

Great location in La Jolla Shores neighborhood. Easy walk to the beach and local shops and eateries. Parking available in front of units which is a real plus in this area. The unit is as described and plenty of room for a couple. Highly recommended, would stay again.

The 1-bedroom was spacious with a very nice living room, excellent well appointed kitchen and comfortable small bathroom. We slept very well every night. Definitely want to book it again next year.

Great location, good rental
Overall this apartment met our needs well, and Rose was very responsive. We wanted to check in a bit early, and she was able to quickly set that up; we found the coffee pot was broken when we went to use it the first day, and a replacement was quickly provided. The apartment itself is fine, we stayed for 1 week - the bed is comfortable, kitchen has most items (though we woukd have likeda toaster), decor seemed new and modern, and it included parking. The location was great, walking distance to restaurants and the beach. Note there are actually several apartments here together. The reasons we gave a 4 rating vs. 5: for privacy the blinds end up shuttered most of the time, as there are nearby or connected apartments, so there isn't much natural light. The washer & dryer are outside in a tiny back porch, while they are usable it's just not ideal, and the back porch space itself isn't welcoming. On our last couple days a family moved in next door, and though though their activity level was normal
and they weren't physically above our apartment it felt/sounded like they were in the same house. Most of the time that was fine as we were out a lot; so it's much nicer when other units are empty. This unit is very functional and clean.

So much better than a hotel
My family of 4 (kids are little) loved staying here over Memorial Day weekend. As a mom I appreciate the cleanliness and the beach toys! It was so convenient and we loved being within walking distance of some of our favorite restaurants and our favorite playground on the beach.
