The property was awesome! There were a few minor things like no working lights in the pool and a couple of window leaks when there was a heavy thunderstorm but for the most part we were very happy with the property.

Our family really enjoyed the house and property. Our party consisted of my mother, 2 adult brother and sister in law, myself, my husband, and our 12 yo twins. Having access to The Swimming Hole included was very convenient and the house is very centrally located. Instructions to bring your own towels and paper products is no joke. One thing we didnt think of were hand towels for the kitchen so we went through a lot of paper towels (we made multiple trips to the Frio Country Store for paper towels). So much so, that we even had the pleasure of meeting the owner of Frio Country Store who was very kind and helpful, as were his employees.

This was our second time to stay in this home. Very relaxing. Although the weather was not optimal we enjoyed our trip. The view from this clean and spacious home is incredible. It’s just a short drive to several water crossings if tubing is on your to-do list.

House was great. The description said bring EXTRA towels, which led me to believe that a minimum amount of risks would be present. They were not. Everything else we needed was there. Luckily the general store a few miles away carries towels and we were able to get the things we needed first evening. Other than that, the place was great. Communication with the manager was simple and easy. Check in and check out was no problem. 10/10 we'll stay there again. But this time we'll bring our own towels! Lol

A nice place with gorgeous views!

We loved it here! The house was clean, the views and dark skies at night were gorgeous, the drive up was very scenic, and the owner was very helpful! This was my first time using VRBO, so I was a little unsure of what to expect, but our group was very satisfied. We wanted a nice river place to enjoy the eclipse, the swimming hole associated with the place was closed for the season, but the owner was able to get us in. We would book again!

This is our 2nd year in a row visiting this beautiful location. The view is amazing!! The pool and the home is beautiful! And our host is always so helpful and friendly. For those of you who enjoy a walk, you would enjoy the Cat Claw Loop which calculates to 2 miles!! Hope to visit again soon!!

We had a great time but a few things about the property definitely affected our trip. The most igregious being the fact that a comforter on one of the upstairs beds hadn't been cleaned and appeared to have vomit on it. Additionally, the doorknob on the queen bedroom and the upstairs shower head were both broken. This was our second year staying at this property and while we enjoy it, the condition has declined quite a bit. We'll be looking for somewhere else next year.

Light bulbs burned out , staircase in house is too steep and dangerous, no extra trash liners and trash dumpster was full - no room for our trash. Not enough furniture in living room to accommodate more than 2 people. Oven did not heat properly when baking biscuits. Tv remote not working due to corroded batteries. Found a shot glass on the floor of the swimming pool when our son stepped on it.

Our 3rd stay and we always enjoy this house. The pool is nice to enjoy after being at the river or just hanging out at the house. The outside views are beautiful. However with our last stay there seemed to have sewage smell coming from the back porch. This left having dinner on the back porch impossible. This has never been an issue with our previous stays so not sure what was going. Other than that part this house if perfect for our family.

Family time at the Eagles Roost was amazing and so much fun. Plenty of room for our family of 10. Sleeping accommodations were excellent. Back porch view was beautiful and pool was just the right size!! Will stay there again!!!!

This location is wonderful! The 20-minute drive to Garner State Park is beautiful. The view and the back of the property outweighs the negatives inside the home. The swimming pool was clean and perfect for young children with the safety gate. The pool lights were not working during our stay. Additional lighting in the pool area would be a huge plus. Upon arrival the home smelled like urine. The floors were extremely dirty to the point that no one could walk around barefoot. One of the bedrooms had a musty smell that we could not get rid of. The property manager was very responsive and attentive. He offered to clean the floors. But, we opted for cleaning it ourselves as it was late in the evening. Overall, the home is in need of a deep cleaning and more comfortable furniture. Bring your own pillows, blankets, pots and pans, and microwavable dishes in addition to what does not come with the rental (e.g., additional trash bags, toilet paper, paper towels). The BBQ grill is in need of replacement. It was great that the property was pet-friendly, but the smell left behind was very unpleasant and definitely not a motivator to return.

We had an amazing stay! The views were so beautiful. Everyone had an awesome time.

The Eagles Roost was a great place. It was clean with plenty of accommodations for 11 people and well stocked with necessities. The view and pool were awesome. Would stay again.

Property was great i have stayed at many places with pools. I usually get locations with pools for the grandkids and this was one of the cleanest pools I have seen. Would definitely stay there again.

House was very nice, great views, close to everything. so far the best stay yet. I liked how the back of the house and pool keep everyone together in same area. Plenty of room. Everyone loved the house.

Nice place with great views. House was very clean and inviting, which made for a comfortable and relaxing stay.

This is a clean, well situated property that seems very well maintained with one exception. The views are outstanding. I do not rate this property five stars because we had an issue with the air conditioning: it is an older unit that stopped working well about halfway through our stay. The property manager was johnny-on-the-spot. Came out on a Sunday to see what he could do. Got a HVAC person out the next day, but the unit still would not cool two bedrooms. I expect that the issue has been resolved. Overall, I recommend the property.

We had a great time. The group had planned to go fishing, sight seeing and floating the river. Instead we stayed in played games and swam in the pool. It was great family time. There were 3 couples, 2 adult grandkids and 2 great-grandkids and everyone had room to have privacy and be together when they wanted. There was plenty of great outdoor space.

Wonderful stay at this beautiful hill top home. My 3yr. old grand daughter called this her Eagle's castle. The pool was a hit with the whole crew, and the view is sooo amazing. The microwave didn't work, but other than that we had a marvelous time. 😀

This was a great cabin and great location. The decor is bright and inviting. The home and all areas are very spacious. We are a family of 8 with a little 2 year old and we had plenty of room to roam. My family spent a lot of time on the back patio and swimming pool areas. The view of the hills is beautiful. Very peaceful. Would definitely recommend. It’s a great family home.

I wanted a place where me and my children and grandchildren could stay together, enjoy each other and offer the children things to do. This place covered all the bases in a magnificent setting on top of a mountain. I will stay here again and again, God willing.
