Lovely- such a well stocked kitchen a beautiful view! The heat didn’t work but the property manager was open about it and brought us a heater- and there were plenty of blankets to use as well. A really nice home that was artfully decorated and in a really easy location to get to town and the nature reserve. Thank you!

There were lots of games and books, and the kitchen was well equipped, No grill outside and no extras for the beach, but I knew that before coming. The house would be nice for a big family because of the size,could sleep 10 but they do not alow more than 6. Felt very secluded, alot of overgrowth on road to the house, but then opened up to several houses.

This was a lovely property. It was neat clean and it had a nice open floor plan. The views of the sound were great, it had a nice upper deck and we enjoyed the outdoor screened in porch and ate most of our meals there. It was nice at times having two separate reading areas, and the kitchen was well stocked. Other guests and mention things like Watervue versus waterfront but sitting in the living room and the screened in porch we had a lovely views at Sunset, all you could ask for. I would definitely stay here next time I come back. And again reading some of the reviews it seems like some people just don’t get the overall house which is really quite lovely

Only complaint.. we didn't stay long enough. Front screen door would not close, banged during night when wind kicked up.

Property had an airy downstairs living room and attached open-concept kitchen. The kitchen was well equipped with cookware if folks were so inclined. Screened porch was pleasant and the walk-out balconies on the rooms a nice touch. There were a few areas that could be worked on, however. The hardwood floor though the house has a few splinters that keep you walking carefully (three splinters later). I'd also suggest that we're at a point in the COVID pandemic when linens and pillows should be included as part of the rental versus requiring them to be brought by the renters. All in all, it's a reasonably priced rental, in a good location, with a decent view of the sound. I would recommend it to others.

We had such a great stay at Katydid. It was our first time staying in Chincoteague and we definitely want to come back. The views from this house are incredible. The best sunsets from the living room! The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, coffee maker, etc. We loved the screened-in porch off the kitchen/living room with wood rocker bench overlooking the water.

Perfect stay to recover from the stress caused by the pandemia.

The property is a nice three bedroom home with views of the water. We (just the two of us) mostly used the downstairs, which was a great space for sleeping, relaxing, and working (we both set up our work stations on the dining table). The Wifi was mostly fine, but gave us a little trouble on occasion. The bandwidth was not enough for heavy downloading or streaming. Fair warning, bring your own trash bags! We knew about the toilet paper, paper towels, sheets, pillows, soap, etc., but we didn't realize we'd be without trash bags. The kitchen is very well stocked, which would have been nice to know. The rental company made it sound pretty sparse, so we brought our own pasta strainer and produce knife (no need- it's very well equipped with a kitchen aid, pots, pans, dishes, a colander, etc.). The property has beautiful views, though the directions of how to navigate the driveways were a bit confusing (and GPS doesn't get you there). We'd definitely go back. The bed we slept on was on the firmer side, but was in good condition. One of the beds upstairs was not level (the head was propped up slightly over the foot). Two of the decks were small, but fine. The big deck was excellent, though the chairs aren't much to speak of, and the screened in porch was perfect for evenings. There was also a significant collection of books and games, though we didn't use it.

Reviewer Comments: We loved Chincoteague and the marshes, wonderful home for that. There is much deferred maintenance and updating that needs to be done. Some of these I know you are aware of - Front screen door needs to be replaced. Trim needs to be painted around the door - gives a poor first impression. Whole house and screened in area needs to be powerwashed. Front steps and railings need to be replaced - they are splinters on the way to happen. Use a composite mateial to accomade harsh conditions. With the layout of the driveways it is important to have house numbers at the end of each driveway and on the house. Pull poison oak that is growing through the steps and by the front railing. Toaster sets smoke detector every morning, toaster needs to be replaced.

We lived this house and wished we could stay a second week but work called. The house is prettier than all the pictures! The views, especially at sunset over the marsh were fabulous. We were only 2 people but the house was easily spacious enough for 6. The kitchen was thoroughly stocked with every sort of food preparation tool. The beds were comfy. The sofas and chairs were plentiful. The screen porch was why we chose the house. I spent half our time painting views from the house and very nearby Assateague park. I would highly recommend this house. The breezes were lovely.
