The check in process was simple and the location was easy to find. Great place to feel like you got away! Spent time relaxing on the couch in the theater room watching movies. From the dock we caught several fish, kayaked and soaked up some sun. Best time of the trip was spent in the spacious kitchen cooking, eating and catching up with family.

Property was exactly as shown in the listing. It was great location, clean and plenty of space for large gathering. We had a great time with friends and family.
Only suggestion I have is for them to keep life jackets if anyone wants to go in the lake.

Other than needing some updating.. the house was fine. The kitchen has a 1980s feel. There was a musty smell throughout maybe from the rainy weather that weekend. The carpet in one of the bedrooms was worn from use over time.
We enjoyed the deck space and the location is good. Thanks for letting us stay there.

Property was great for our family. We were attending a wedding and made our reservation early in the year. Price went up after we reserved because of nearby college football game.

This was one of the best houses we have stayed in for our annual reunion. We had 14 people and the rooms worked well. Extra sheets were nice for the air mattress (we had our own electric pump) and a couple couches for our young adult children who did not want to share beds. The beds were a combination of hard and soft, which worked well. I got some of my best sleep in a while on the softer master bed. The kitchen was really well-stocked, including some extras (we did not use the 2nd kitchen downstairs) And, we used one of the 2 grills. Cooking for a lot of people was easy. The dock was shaded in the mornings, mostly sunny in the afternoon. All the outdoor furniture was great- No need to bring your own chairs. We really enjoyed using the canoe and kayak. Bring life jackets if you have little kids, but there were noodles and some floats available. As we were leaving, we found some cards and games in the drawer in the coffee table, but we had brought our own. There were kids games and even poker chips downstairs. I texted Amanda about checking out later because of later flights out of Atlanta, and she responded right away that this was ok. It was a great house with great hosts.

Worth noting, Tthe dock is tucked back in a tight cove with shallow water which could be tricky for larger fixed-prop boats.

Great location in quiet cove! Easy to swim off the dock. We left our 22 foot boat at the dock all weekend with no issues! Highly recommend.

Spacious accommodations!!! Access to boat dock not very safe for elderly. Upstairs refrigerator water and ice dispenser needs cleaning. Refrigerator shelves unstable. Downstairs refrigerator freezer leaking water. Long hanging sign in bedroom across from laundry room fell off wall. Small nails are really not adequate for the weight of sign. I rearranged holes and rehung sign. I suggest rehanging with proper hangers. The queen bed in this same room would be more comfortable for adults if it were a king size mattress. Toilet paper holder in master suite needs attention.
Overall, we enjoyed our stay and the family had a great time playing games, enjoying water sports and cooking and eating in the spacious kitchen. The kitchen was well stocked with essentials. We would very much consider coming again in the future.

This house was perfect for us. We had a little family reunion and there was plenty of space for everyone to have privacy but also big open spaces for gathering. The well-appointed kitchen and deck are big and really awesome for gatherings. I love how there were twin beds in some of the rooms for children to bunk with their parents. The dock was great and we really enjoyed our time there.

I held a get together for my husbands 50th birthday. This house was incredible. Everyone kept remarking about how awesome the house was.
The house is decorated both beautifully and had a cozy relaxing feel to it. The dock is very close to the house and you can see the fish off of the dock and tie the boat up very easily.The men spent a lot of time downstairs in the theater / sports room watching football and in the adjacent room so we can watch two games at once. The theater/ sports room is also key for distracting the kids with a movie for a bit and let the parents rest. The ladies sat around the fire pit with a glass of wine telling funny stories.
The weather was cold based on when we rented but we have not had that much fun in a while. I can only imagine how it would be in the summer.
Our hosts were extremely accommodating! They were very responsive, and at the end of the day, just good people.
My husband said jokingly, the only thing wrong with the house is that our name is not on the deed. We highly recommend this property. We will definately be back!!!

We were in town for Clemson parents weekend- this home was fantastic! Plenty of space for some daytime visits with the kids - very quiet area. Went swimming off the dock during the day - brought our own paddle boards and the dock area was very accommodating - the lake was BEAUTIFUL! Plenty of towels in the house- very nice kitchen setup - very clean. Would 100% stay again and next year we will book for more than just a few nights !

We have a large family so the bedroom accommodations were excellent. The towels need replacing as they are very thin. The thermostat down stairs was locked and set at 75 which made sleeping uncomfortable. Charge a couple of hundred dollars more and let your guest lower the temp. It would be ok in the fall or spring.
We didn’t use the dock as the path was very steep.

Perfect for Multiple Families
This house is perfect for multiple families. You are able to have time together but also apart when the little kids have to go to bed early. The location was perfect: about 15 minutes from town. The dock was an easy walk that included a kayak and canoe that our family loved. We were able to dock our boat easily and with it being in a hidden cove it provided enough peace for everyone to swim quietly. 10/10 would recommend to anyone staying. Oh and a bonus: family movie room that was so sound proof you can really turn up a movie and no one would hear it upstairs.

Great for families
Our week was a wonderful family time and we made precious memories. We loved the quiet cove it’s in and the tv areas in the basement. The children could occupy their selves during the hot part of the day. Since two of the adults worked remotely upstairs this was important. The WiFi was adequate to support the work computers.
The kitchen had a great supply of dishes, pots & pans, etc. Our only complaint was the cleanliness which the owner said he was most definitely going to address with the cleaning crew. This would not keep me from returning, it just didn’t rate 5 stars.

Clemson Grad Weekend
The property was spacious, generally well maintained and provided the basics for our stay. Some things that would have made this a 5 star experience include better quality hand and face towels - these items were very worn and stained. Also, extra toilet paper - we ran out, soap for every sink, and shower gel or bar soap for showering. Most units I have stayed in recently are providing these amenities. We did not book the property for lake access; however, if that is your goal the lake access is very steep and you will need to provide your own lake toys - ex: paddle boards, canoe, boat, etc. That said, we throughly enjoyed the house and the deck and it was a reasonable drive over to Clemson for the graduation activities.

Saxony Forest was a great stay looking for a group of friends to enjoy the lake and relax during the new year holiday. I highly recommend this stay to any future guests.

Great location, could use some updates
Overall our experience was good. The property location was great, easy to find, and very scenic. Plenty of space for our large group. I rated the overall experience three stars, however, due to some fine-tuning that would go a long way to making this place awesome. Little hospitality touches were lacking, like no hangers in closets, no clocks in rooms, no hampers for laundry or linens, old/stained towels, etc. We also encountered several cockroaches in the basement area/bathrooms. The listing says kayaks are availabe and there were none, and a lot of the outdoor equipment in the shed by the dock was in disrepair includinf the life jackets which looked to have been nibbled on by mice. Lastly, and this is an entirely personal note, the decor in the basement area was agressively Americana, bordering on hostile right-wing. While I fully respect someone's right to decorate their property as they choose, it would have been nice to know this ahead of time as it may have affected my decision to reserve.

First time at a lake house
Enjoyed our stay at this beautiful lake house. It was very spacious for our family. The kitchen had lots of room for several people to be in there at the same time. Plenty of seating for eating. Loved the deck and the fire pit- roasted marshmallows for s’mores and wieners for hotdogs! A couple of small issues - bedpost in queen/twin BR on main level was detached and in bathroom in same BR, tub was slow to drain.

Perfect lake getaway
This house was perfect for us. My wife and myself, our niece and her boyfriend, our friends and their 2 grown kids had plenty of room. The kitchen was perfect for cooking a large Sunday dinner and the living room was great to watch the Clemson game. We will definitely keep this one in mind for our fall trip next year. Thanks!

Great Lake stay near Clemson-roomy and relaxing!
We had a great weekend at Jeff’s home on the lake. Home is well appointed and so roomy! Literally two kitchens and a game room. We had plenty of comfy beds, coffee in the morning and were able to swim off the dock and go for a quick canoe ride. Less than 20 minutes to Clemson so perfect for visiting your college student or for a group game weekend. Would absolutely stay again. Jeff was responsive and excellent host with speedy check In lockbox and a ready response for any issues. Thanks for a great stay!

Beautiful home; GREAT space on the Lake!
Perfect size for our family vacation with a family of six, three, our son and us. Everyone had space to spread out, loved being right on the water. Our two moms could use a monitor to listen for babes napping and we could all pop in and out of the house to read, for meals, etc. Kitchen had anything you’d need. Nice to be close to Clemson— overall, we’d highly recommend!

One last getaway!
One last getaway for family and friends. We had ample room for everyone. They lay out was perfect for our large group. My favorite spot was sitting on the porch because I felt like I was in a tree house. The kitchen was well equipped and if we did need to run to the store, the distance was not too far. Our entire group enjoyed the gorgeous water and private cove.

Summer Trip
We had an awesome time visiting the house/lake. We brought a boat and the dock was well used. The pictures of the house on the listing do not do justice, the house is much larger in person. The deep water behind the house was clear, clean, and a favorite with the kids. We will certainly be entertaining a trip back!

We had a wondered stay. The house is super clean and organized well. We love the location and being so close to the Lighthouse and Tiki hut. The owners were interactive and helpful.
