5 couples on a Fall color atv ride. Worked out great for us. Close to everything you need Trail access on atvs was easy. Plenty of room to sit and visit. Fire pit along the canal was perfect end of the evening spot. Hosts were very easy to communicate with. Made everything simple.

Our family’s stay at the Red House was awesome! It was a very spacious yet cozy home full of nice amenities. The sauna was put to good use every day and we all enjoyed multiple jumps in the lake as well. Lori was helpful and quick to respond to any inquiries. The only downfall was having to leave at the end of our week! We would definitely love to come back again!

The home is perfect for a big group, great deck overlooking the water, nice dock on the water and the host's are fantastic.

We had 3 families for our annual week and this was our first time to Houghton. Kids range from 9-16. House was perfect location with easy access to many of the places we explored, most within an hour. Yard was great for wiffle ball and volleyball. Fire pit large enough for all to enjoy. The deck and dock were perfect for watching the ranger and sipping a cup of coffee. 11 minute drive to Breakers to watch the beautiful sunsets. As expected per the instructions, we needed to bring all toiletries (soaps, shampoo, conditioner). Kitchen has enough pans, utensils, dishes to make large meals so just bring the food. Bring beach towels and blankets for the beaches.

The Rocky Shores Retreat was amazing. The house was clean and move in ready! The host responded really quickly to every communication. The addition of the washer and dryer with detergent provided was so appreciated!! We made use of all of the amenities - dock, fire pit, sauna!!! We will definitely book here again!

This is our third year spending a week at Rocky Shores and we hope to keep coming back. Phil and Lori are great and very responsive hosts. The house fits our group of 13 perfectly. We love fishing and swimming off the dock and enjoying evening bonfires. The location is great with easy access to grocery stores, local restaurants and shops.

Amazing property, lots of space, hosts were very accommodating and helpful. Views were spectacular and the amenities of the property were fantastic!

We booked this property based on the access to the trail (2-3 miles away from the property). Unfortunately, due to unseasonal weather the road shoulder did not allow for trail access from the property. Although we looked to the canal as a possible option, some poor ice conditions made this a potentially unsafe option. Ultimately, we ended up trailering snowmobiles each day which had both positive and negative implications. The house had some unexpected perks including a mud room with separate "locker" spaces so each rider could stow their gear. We really appreciated access to a garage for storing and working on snowmobiles (we have learned that this is a rare treat). The sauna was utilized by riders after a long day of riding and was able to warm riders feeling the chill. The sauna had a shower which turned out to be utilized more frequently than anticipated. One of the showers on the main floor lacked privacy due to being in the laundry room surrounded by windows. The other shower/full bath was located inside one of the bedrooms which got a little awkward. The upstairs half bath was rather small and was located between two bedrooms across from two of the open beds which made it also awkward to use in the middle of the night. It was very handy having the laundry and we appreciated the large island for cooking and prepping meals along with the additional seating. The parking was large as advertised. We would recommend marking with a flag or a pole the large rock (covered in snow) at the bottom of the parking as we ended up hitting it with the trailer. Overall we would stay here again in the future, and found the hosts to be very pleasant, responsive and helpful.

This home was perfect for our yearly cross country ski vacation in the Houghton area. Plenty of room for family and friends, and we really enjoyed the sauna after a long day on the trails. We will be back!

Plenty of room in all areas of the house, big parking lot was a huge plus, close to town, overall a great place to stay!

We had a good time staying at this home, the owners did a great job helping us with icy parking situation, so we would not have issue to get out every day. The house was very clean, practical, had a big kitchen and great garage space for all our ski bags. The sauna was fantastic! The only small issue was that the lights flickered when we had too many devices working at the same time, which was tiring to eyes later in the day. But the location of the house was very convenient to the ski venue, to downtown and skiing on the canal right next to the house was just priceless! There was a lot of parking space as well! This is the best vacation home for a big family with kids since there are so many beds in the loft for kids to have fun when waking up and going to bed! Thank you!

Went home to Houghton to have a Celebration of Life for my mother. The house was perfect for our family. We were able to share share alot of memories & laughs. The added bonus was the beautiful color of the leaves and the Sauna.

This is a large home, fit the six of us nicely. Great sauna. We made full use of the waterfront location, boating, swimming and kayaking. We also loved the firepit and deck.

This is a very nice place to stay! We went on a lot of day trips to see the beautiful areas of Porcupine Mountains, drives up to Copper Harbor a few times, the beachs and waterfalls! So much to see! The house was a great place to come back to for supper and unwind. The kids had fun fishing and jumping off the dock. The owners were great in response to questions and help. Thanks for a great time. I can only say good things about our stay. The house was perfect for our group of 14. The owner was responsive and super helpful with any questions. We spent a lot of time at the house, but also ventured out in all directions to take in the awesome scenery of the UP. I highly recommend visiting this part of MI and staying at this house will only enhance your stay.

We walked in and were greeted by a large mud room with a cubby for each family. The kitchen was our gathering place. We brought the food and the rest was there for us. Comfortable living room and a nice dining table. Beautiful laundry area with a shower and separate bathroom. All quite pretty. One beautiful bedroom with another bath downstairs. Upstairs there are enough beds to house a baseball team, as well as another bathroom. Bedding is very nice. I love all the quilts. Garage was available and there is a sauna that was much enjoyed. It was a wonderful weekend thanks in large part to all of us being able to stay together at this home! Thank you for having our Crew!
