We stayed for a week at the end of August and loved it! Owners Amy and Rick were kept in touch and were available if there were any issues that came up. The house itself is in a great location. About a 7 minute drive from the town. It's on a 2 acre wooded lot, very private, and because of the shade from the trees, the house stayed pretty cool even during the low 90s we had a for a few days (there was air conditioning available, but we didn't need to turn it on).
We'd definitely return if we visit Mt. Shasta again.

Stay was good. Clean. Comfortable. Would stay again

We enjoyed our stay in Mt. Shasta at this clean and conveniently located home. Close enough to town but yet with the privacy and relaxation of being far, far away. Our dog loved the forest and nearby lakes. He especially loved the open feel of the home where he always knew where we were! Easy to stay cool even when the days are warm, we would gladly return to this zen escape in this beautiful yet seemingly uncrowded location (compared to towns like Truckee and Mammoth!) Friendly and helpful owners to boot!

Lovely property with beautiful patio out front and back. Getting up and down the stairs to the bedroom was never a problem for me, and I'm 88! Enjoyed the cleanliness of the entire place.

My wife and I, plus our two dogs, had a very nice stay here for several days between Xmas and NYE. The location was quiet, and we didn't mind the cold rainy weather since the cabin was warm and we were just looking to relax and enjoy some downtime.

Cute house for a couple. Bedroom and bathroom upstairs. While you can't control the neighbors there was a dog that barked pretty insistently all night. Finally had to close the windows to get some sleep. We are used to a quiet area so any noises are a bother for us. Close to everything we wanted to do. Great restaurants in town.

We loved Amy and Rick’s place. The place is spacious and cozy. Perfect for a couple to get a way to Mount Shasta. It’s close (a short drive) to town. The shower head is the best I’ve ever experienced; same to the hot tub!

Great House
Loved the house and location however disappointed that the backyard was under construction - just cleared dirt and trees down. The description was cabin in the woods and "the woods" were missing especially for hot tub usage. Understand owners upgrading but need to update description of surroundings.

A peaceful retreat with jacuzzi.
A perfect home away from home. We really enjoyed the jacuzzi & the deer coming to say hello in the early morning. Amy & Rick responded promptly to any questions we had. We totally recommend this peaceful place surrounded by beautiful trees.

Terrific hosts and lovely, quiet property
Amy & Rick are wonderful hosts. When wildfires caused closure of the Mt. Shasta National Forest, they recommended alternative places for hiking. Maps of the area, as well as a brochure for Castle Crags State Park, were in their rental home. As a result, we were able to enjoy hiking alternatives in the area. Their advice and the information in the home made the difference between a mediocre trip and a great vacation.
Their rental home is very bright, comfortable and peaceful. It is perfect for couples and adequate for 4 people. The only reason I rated the home as a “4” on cleanliness is because the house does not have a dishwasher, so the dishes and utensils are only as clean as the previous renters.
We would recommend their rental home to anyone planning a visit to the area and would definitely stay there again.

This is a nice little cozy place and the owners were pet friendly! We enjoyed our stay. The owners warned us of upcoming weather. We managed to get in after the first snowstorm and get out before the next one arrived, thankfully.

2nd stay at this wonderful home
This is our families go to home every time we vacation in Mt Shasta! It's secluded in tall trees but only 5 min drive to all the action. Amy goes out of her way to accommodate her guests and the house has everything you need. We will continue to book this awesome house for years to come.

Exactly as described
We had a lovely visit here to Mount Shasta doing a variety day hikes that were amazingly convenient to get to. Then after the hike we could come "home" and relax in this comfortable, peaceful space, with downtown located conveniently nearby, as the description says. Extra points for being dog friendly. We would definitely come back for another visit and stay here.

Great house for exploring Mt Shasta
We enjoyed our stay at the lovely house. The bed was very comfy the kitchen well stocked. We really liked the smoker! The only drawback for me was road noise from the highway. Otherwise it was a good space for exploring.

Love this cute cabin tucked into the woods! It had all the amenities I needed in addition to being pet friendly-huge bonus! The bed is so cozy and you feel like you are sleeping in a tree house because every window upstairs has a forest view. Amy and Rick are kind, communicative, flexible and accommodating. The place has a great vibe. I highly recommend it!

Nice place to stay at Mt Shasta
My husband and I had a great time staying at Amy and Rick's place. It was beautiful, tidy and very comfortable to stay for vocation. The kitchen was well-equipped and Amy and Rick were very accessible and willing to provide us a comfortable stay. We highly recommended this place for you if you visit Mt Shasta.

Clean, open, and lots of natural light. Close to town and ski park.
We had three generations in this house (grandma, mom and son) and there was plenty of space for all of us to spread out. The propane fireplace was not easy to start so we just stuck with the electric heaters which worked quit well to keep us cozy. I love to cook and bake and found most of what I needed here, but missed having a blender for smoothies and creamed soup. Also be prepared to get/bring tin foil, Saran Wrap, baggies, and Tupperware. The Roku was great and we were able to log in to our private accounts (Hulu and Amazon prime) although Netflix was included for guests. Fast internet. We loved all the crystal stores and the beautiful quaintness of the town with the massive snow covered mountains in the background. Visiting Dunsmuir (15mins south) was also fun. While there, we ate a delicious meal at The Wheelhouse and played one of a huge selection of board games while we waited (30mins) for our food. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and would recommend this little house to other travelers and families. We look forward to our next visit!

Great fall get away house
We enjoyed our stay on Highland Way. We had our Corgi with us and he liked taking walks and sitting on the front porch with me while I played my ukulele. My husband loved having the Traeger as we use one nightly at home. The house was very comfortable and had everything we needed to make our stay relaxing. The bed was super comfortable. We didn’t get to use the outdoor sitting areas as it rained but they looked super cute for better weather. Kitchen was well equipped and we cooked all of our meals in house. Easy ride back in to town if you forget something.

We loved the comfortable bed and peaceful feel to the lodge. It was very clean and well equipped. Road and rail noise can be heard from the outside spaces.
