We were 4 retirees in PEI for a week of golfing. This was an ideal location to access many of the wonderful golf courses on the island. It was a relaxing atmosphere with an amazing view that provided all we needed to round out a truly enjoyable experience. We never actually met with the owner, but she was always prompt and friendly whenever we had questions.

My husband and I enjoyed our stay at Blue Cove Cottage! It is all that it presents on the verb web-site. It is well located for all kinds of activities on the North Shore of PEI - golf, beaches, restaurants....

We loved staying at blue cove cottage! Darlene was an excellent host, helping out whenever we had any questions. Located conveniently close to the national park, Cavendish, and Charlottetown, we had a great week exploring the island and visited many beautiful beaches close by. At night we stood out on the back lawn, or sat on the deck and listened to the water lapping the shore while getting a great view of the stars. Highly recommend this adorable place!

We stayed here for the 3rd time. The cottage is well kept and has a great view over a small river estuary. Darlene is a great host and has everything you need. We will definitely return.

This cottage is very clean and well maintained. It is situated on the bay and has a terrific view of the water. We watched people harvesting oysters and mussels during the day. At night it was peaceful and quiet. The cottage is just a short drive to Charlottetown; and, the National Park and scenic North Rustico are just minutes away. This would be a great place for a family.

Owners and family were great! The cottage and amenities abound. Quiet, peaceful surroundings and right handy for day trips too! Amazing week for us with lovely cottage that just offers hugs as you enter.

Perfect in so many ways. The cottage itself is lovely, private, well maintained, and a perfect location - so close in proximity to Brackley, Rustico, Cavendish and Charlottetown. Every amenity required for a PEI summer vacation. And the hosts were very pleasant to deal with. We would stay there again!

We got a great PEI welcome from Darlene. The cottage was spotless and she made sure that everything we needed was available. The view from the deck was very calming. The location of the cottage is perfect as it is close to many attractions. I would absolutely stay there again!

We were three generations and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Blue Cove Cottage. The cottage was stocked with everything you could possibly need and it was so clean and spacious. The property was beautiful and private. I prefers softer mattress but that’s personal choice. Handy to the beach and many PEI gems! Even our two pups didn’t want to leave! We had enough space for everyone and our son enjoyed the loft space with his own bathroom and balcony. Thanks to Darlene for timely and friendly communication! Absolutely recommend for a larger group where you want a bit of space and privacy. Many wonderful memories were made!

I won’t repeat everything other reviews have already stated. Was a great week in PEI and this Cottage was just perfect. Only FYI for travelers with kids is that the WiFi is slow and not reliable. But considering where the location is it’s not surprising. Also not much cell service. Darlene provides everything and is available. We mostly enjoyed the coffee maker. Laundry. Thank you for also having camping chairs. The kids liked the bunk beds and upstairs play area. Will look to stay there again. Location is good for access to various island spots.

Super private and well equipped. We were sorry to leave. Wonderful hosts and close to everything the island has to offer.

This spacious cottage was so clean and centrally located to so many attractions. We were there with two dogs 2 grandchildren and 4 adults and there was plenty of space for us all, plus a large grass area for games, campfires and dog runs! Since the cottage was tucked away from any others around, we felt it was more private. Both Darlene and Wade are very friendly and pleasant, willing to help if anything was needed. We also found the cottage well stocked and this was so appreciated🙂� We would love to go back and wouldn't hesitate to recommend this cottage to others! Thank you for allowing us to stay here.

This is the second time we have stayed here. The cottage is very well looked after and very central to everything on the north shore. The owners think of everything you'd need and having a BBQ on the deck facing the water was a memorable experience. One great evening was spent around the firepit roasting marshmallows. We hope to return next year and recommend this cottage for a family vacation.

We had a great time, and plan to return hopefully next year. Tidy, fully-equipped cottage with responsive hosts add to the charm of this beautiful cottage on the Wheatley River.

We enjoyed our time at this cottage, the owners were very welcoming and kind. The photos don't do it justice, it is very clean, bright and spacious. The deck is quite large and has a splendid view! The modern amenities like a dishwasher, full washer and dryer, fully stocked kitchen as well as two full bathrooms were really appreciated. We were a family of six and we had lots of space to relax and enjoy our time in PEI. Our favourite part was the long red dirt driveway from the main road to the cottage :)

This is a lovely cottage, ideal for families. The cottage is very clean and well maintained and we really enjoyed having a bbq on the deck while looking out at the water at the end of the garden. We also enjoyed sitting around the firepit late at night. We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone who wants a cottage that is close to all the vacation amenities while being in a quiet location. The park pass was also very useful and Darlene was very responsive and accommodating to our questions.

Darlene and Wade’s cottage is perfect for a weeks stay on the island. The minute we drove in we were pleasentely surprised. We were four adults, two teens and rheee dogs and we all fit comfortably. The cottage is VERY private and picturesque. You can’t really swim but could kayak/paddle board, the dogs were able to play around in the water though. The hosts have made the home some clean, it’s spotless, with lots of little touches to make your stay comfortable. The laundry amenities and dishwasher were a real treat at a cottage! FYI, don’t expect great cell service, there is wifi but it wasn’t always available with all the guests in the house - but really, who needs to be connected while on vacation? Book this cottage. You won’t be disappointed!

At first, we were surprised to be approaching the Bluecove Cottage on a small dirt road, but when it came into view, aaaahhhh! Situated on a tidy plot overlooking the oyster bay, this place is perfect for a getaway for a small group, or for a couple of small families with kids. It has a fully equipped kitchen, and gracious living areas. We were here after the "season" and the weather turned a bit chilly so we couldn't take advantage of the back deck for dining, but it was very inviting. Beds very comfortable, two immaculate bathrooms, a convenient location. Highly recommend the owners, who were available neatby, and who did a great job of orienting us to the house and to the area in general. A Great Blue Heron fished every morning just beyond the walking path at the water's edge.

For the second straight year, we had a great golf vacation and this property met all of our needs.

Friendly, welcoming owners. Well stocked. Photos didn't do it justice. Very relaxing and peaceful. We had a wonderful stay. And, so very clean (and smelled good!).

It was great offered great PRIVACY.the only problem was there weren't any BLANKET Or extra sheets so as a result it was uncomfortable at night cold

We stayed here in mid-July for 7 days, and could have stayed longer! Close to all Cavendish beach places, as well as only 15 min from Charlottetown, 30 from Borden-Carleton, Victoria and Summerside. The location is extremely quiet and peaceful, which was important for us. There were four adults staying, so it was a plus for each couple of have their own bathroom. Exceptionally well-maintained with everything you need to cook at home, if you choose not to go out for meals. New bathrooms and furniture throughout. Can't rate this place any higher! Landlord was very responsive when we had a problem one evening with a leaky propane tank for the BBQ. Very handy to have the washer and dryer right there in the cottage, and they are brand-new front loading too! The only downside would be for people with children who want a property right on a beach; this wasn't a concern for us, and we enjoyed watching the sunrise over the Wheatley river and the ospreys diving for fish throughout the day. There were very few bugs and we could enjoy eating out on the deck every evening. We will definitely come back. Thanks Darlene and Wade!!

This cottage was Ah-mazing. Darlene & Wade have a perfect spot for families. The place was spotless when we arrived. Beds were great. Grounds were newly mowed and there was so much room for the kiddos. We had brought our own little blow up pool, washer toss etc, and the fire pit is a must for us when vacationing. It was so quiet and private compared to many cottages on the island. The cottage included a Park Pass- wonderful. We went biking up at Stanhope and enjoyed a day at Brackley beach. We felt like we were home the minute we arrived.. They literally have thought of anything you need. We stayed in and cooked a lot, and the cottage had everything we could possibly want- including containers for leftovers! It was buggy this week (usual for the Maritimes) and so the screened in sun porch was a favourite since we had 2 babies with us. Everyone had some room to spread out and read, watch TV, talk , or sip coffee on the Lower or Upper decks. I would ABSOLUTELY recommend renting this cottage to anyone and especially if you love to watch the sunrise. Wonderful breeze came through the back of the house which was just wonderful on hot days (plus they have lots of fans but we didn't need them) We did the lobster supper in New Glasgow, (personal fav), Shining Waters in Cavendish, and the family went into Charlottetown on our last day- all within 15 minutes. All I can say is RENT this cottage and ENJOY your serenity.

Darlene and Wade have one of the best cottages for privacy with more amenities to allow for a restful and active location. Each day you are greeted by birds and other local wildlife while sipping coffee or tea. The cottage is large with a sitting area on both levels. Amenities with cottage include baskets of toiletries, telephones, plenty of towels, great appliances (most are almost brand new and work well), easy to use grill and lots of room with comfortable furniture. Deck allows for easily grilled meals and screen porch is just a bonus. The view is great offering both beautiful sunrises and impressive sunsets. The area is quiet and peaceful with an outdoor fire pit (great for s'mores, hot dogs, fish and the like) along with another bench sitting area. Plenty of room for little ones to explore and play. We traveled one day to Montague/Georgetown area and met with friends. Another day we traveled to the Souris and Basinhead beach (including the fisheries museum). We also traveled to see the horses in the ocean at Tignish, the Potato Museum in O'Leary (be sure to eat here as the lobster stuffed potato, chili fries, grilled cheese, French fries and other items are great luncheon fare). Had a day with the Anne of Green Gables, Cavendish and Brackley Beach area. Did not have time for the Brackley Beach drive-in but this is something for us to do another trip. Don't miss eating at Breakwater in Souris (either lunch or dinner) as this is great gourmet food with reasonable prices. While in Charlottetown, we stopped to have lunch twice at a new place called the "Chip Shack" and this is definitely great for poutine, lobster rolls, fish/chips, apple chips (great dessert!) and the beloved PEI French fries. Returning from all of our travels to the cottage was like living a dream vacation. The convenience of traveling only about 15 minutes to Charlottetown and 5 minutes to North Rustico for essentials just adds to the benefit of the location. There is a small bakery in North Rustico (small yellow building) has the best bread, rolls and sweets - across from Fisherman's Wharf. Can't recommend Fisherman's Wharf as our meal there before was really poor but New Glasgow is a better choice for "lobster supper". Both restaurants are pricey but lots of new eateries are now located in Avalon Village (Cavendish) about 7-8 minutes away. This was our second year at Blue Cove Cottage and if possible was even better than the first. The cottage is wonderfully equipped, the owners have thought of everything you could possibly need while on a family vacation, and exceptionally clean. Our dog even loves this charming little cottage with it wonderful vistas and fabulous green lawn.It is also within easy driving distance of a number of PEI attractions including Brackley Beach, Green Gables village and many of the Cavendish attractions. It is also an easy drive to Malpeque Bay which boasts a gorgeous little beach, complete with hermit crabs scuttling around in the water ( a true delight for children) and the Malpeque Oyster Barn - an understated eatery which arguably serves the best Oysters in PEI. If you want a place to relax, let down your hair and just enjoy your summer this is the place to rent!!

What a fabulous place. The pictures do not do it justice. Fantastic inside and out, with everything you could think of provided for you. The owners have gone out of their way to make you feel comfortable. Out teenage kids loved the bedrooms and the upstairs TV room. Wonderful garden area and fire pit for roasting marshmallows. The weekend was just not enough for us, or Shelby our labrador, so we will definately be coming back again next year. Thank you so much Darlene, you have a terrific place.
