Nice home but needs some improvements. Large nice bedrooms but small kitchen if you plan to cook much, however the kitchen is extremely well stocked. We did find a dirty frying pan in cabinet with dried scrambled eggs. If you love to spend time around fire pit it’s not convenient. You have to walk all the way around house and down hill. It would be nicer if there were steps off side porch. Description shows 4 Adirondack chairs around pit but there was only 1. Also directions said 2nd house on drive but it’s the 3rd

Arrived to dirty shower, rips and stains of bed linens, heavily deodorized carpet assuming to mask spills/pet accidents, non working tub, and leaking garbage disposal that was not disclosed. Good location so disappointed.

Stayed with friends and everything was excellent! We needed help with the hot tub and the response was immediate. I loved the privacy, nature setting and location! I plan to return soon.

The cabin was perfect for our stay. Exactly as described and the amenities were good and it was very clean! We had one little issue come up and the management team handled it immediately! Would definitely stay here again!

Great location to Grandfather Mountain and Hawksnest Snow Tubing. 3 King suites really nice. Comfortable beds, comfortable living room furniture. You might need a Chiropractor for your neck after watching some TV, it is really high above fireplace, but it does come with ability to stream which was nice. When we arrived, some windows had been left unlocked and one cracked open, so check the doors and windows when you arrive. We had an issue with the ice maker in the freezer not working. My handy husband fixed it, you're welcome...but if it isn't working again, check how cold the freezer is. Too cold and the water line into the ice maker freezes. There are plenty of coffee mugs but literally 1 regular cup/glass and 1 wine glass so bring some cups or plan on drinking out of coffee mugs the whole time. We specifically wanted a hot tub, but never used it because the water level was too low to run it ( a lot of the jets weren't under water), it was cloudy and dirty. We had a really short stay so no time to have anyone come fix it. Carolina Cabin Rentals easy to work with, I just think whoever cleaned/checked the house after the people before us dropped the ball on a few things.

Very clean and nice house. Great location to walk a short distance to see views. Would definitely stay again.

Enjoyed the campfire area and close vicinity to Otter hiking trails and Boone. Several of the hottub jets didn't work but minor inconvenience.

Great getaway spot!
Easy to find and check in. Glad we were able to bring Goose along for the trip! Glad we spoke to one of the neighbors on the way in about grocery stores and he also told us where to access one of the trails. Great 20 minute hike to waterfall.

Great location and house!

Great cabin experience!
Had a very peaceful stay. The property was clean, the hot tub worked and check in was easy. 3 king beds, what’s not to love? Definitely have 4WD/AWD in winter as the dirt/gravel road can be quite steep.
Love the place and would book again!

Perfect family weekend
We came up for a last minute family vacation before school started and it was a perfect spot! The house was well maintained, everything was clean, and plenty to do in the area for our 5 year old! Will definitely return.

Wonderful Cabin!
My family really enjoyed our stay at Hidden Hawk! The cabin was even better than pictured! It had every amenity you could possibly need! It was well kept and very clean. The gravel loop just past it was perfect for walking any four-legged friends. We really enjoyed visiting the Banner Elk area. There was plenty to see and do. It was a great location. We really had NO complaints!

lovely spot
Besides missing a few essential kitchen tools and a shot glass (!) (some of which I bought and left there), this place was perfect. Everything worked. exactly as pictured, albeit a little darker (web pics are inevitably overexposed). Bed was comfortable. Plenty of blankets. Nice views, including some spectacular ones just the other side of the neighbors place. little to no outside traffic. Great place for the doggo.. great view of the stars from the hot tub. Close enough to town yet felt miles away. my one complaint? Window blinds were a pain to open. Would book again!

Nice house, great location.
Great location. We found a trail thru the back of the property that connected to the Otter Falls traIl. The house had a small but comfortable living room. All three bedrooms have king beds, which is nice. Only thing that could be better was kitchen pots, utensils, etc. Also, the hot tub was nice but only one seat had working jets. The house has great views of Grandfather Mountain.

Pretty nice, except the mattresses.
The property is beautiful. Very clean and well set up. The only downside was the mattresses were cheap and hard as a rock. And the jacuzzi had only two working jets, and the hot tub only one seat’s jets worked. I notified the company and they did give me a refund of $100 which was nice, however when u can’t sleep properly for 6 days because both u and your husband have back issues, and u spend that much on a cabin rental, it could have been better. They did say they’d show the owner my comment. I hope it gets fixed. The beds were old cheap coil mattresses that had zero padding and we both aches for the first 2 hours or so after waking up. So bad I slept on the couch 2 nights. When you’re on vacation and want a peaceful restful stay, and u can’t sleep, it really defeats the purpose. However the cabin was beautiful and the area is very nice as well.

This was a nice cabin in a pleasant location. Took our dog for walks on the gravel roads when not hiking on trails. The cabin was clean when we arrived. A few things need attention. The microwave turntable does not revolve when operating. Burned out lightbulb in one bathroom and the back porch. The main living room could use more light; there is one overhead light and a small lamp on the table that doesn't give much light.

The cabin was well equipped. You could equip with a new can opener. It was very hard to open a can. The wine opener was inferior. The grill ignitor did not work. The upstairs shower could use a new shower liner. Other than that, the cabin itself was great. Unless someone doesn't tell you, you won't know.

I was disappointed in the service received by the Carolina Cabin Rentals. First issue was upon arriving we had not received the firewood that was ordered days in advance. After driving 7 hours and promising my kids a fire, we could do no such thing. Finding two small pieces left by the previous tenant, we attempted to start a small fire in the fire place only to find none of the lighters in the house worked so we can no way to actually light a fire even if the wood had been there. I called and was told oh sorry we didn't add it and you can just drive to a gas station and get some because we are getting ready to close. It was almost 8, after dark and we were up the mountain so I did not want to load the children back up and track back down to find a gas station with wood. On the next issue, I tried to cook grilled chicken for dinner only to find the grill would not work. I called back to the rental company only to be told they were closing and nothing would be done until the following evening after they had done all cleanings and inspections. The grill was not replaced until after dinner time on the second night of our three day stay which took out two days of grilling. The only bathtub in the house had a broken handle and no hot water could be used so my three children were not able to use the tub and were required to shower. I called about this at 10am and no one came to check it until late in the evening and we were told it would have to be replaced sometime later so we could not use the tub for the entire stay. We called everyday asking for information about the hiking trails and fishing pond that are advertised as walking distance to the house, only to be told they don't know where they are and don't have time to look for ponds and trails as they are working. The man even said if you find it, please call us and inform us of where it is so we can note that in the file. While they offered me a meager credit for my stay, many of the amenities I was paying top dollar for were unusable either the majority or entire trip. I was very disappointed in the lack of concern for our needs as a renter. I feel the credit should have at least been for one nights stay considering how much I was paying per night for a last minute booking that would have otherwise not even generated income. I work with the public and know that is not how you treat people. I would love to come back to the mountains but would not rent from this company.

Hidden Hawk is nice, but I gave it 3 stars because of the overall experience dealing with Carolina Cabin management. I would have given the cabin a higher rating, but the management team is so awful that it took away from the overall experience. Hidden Hawk is nice. We did not have any issues with the house other than the hot tub, which turned green about 1/2 way through the stay. So, we didn't use it for 1/2 the stay.In regards to Carolina Cabin management to say they are awful is an understatement. We drove for ten hours to reach the property. We arrived 2.5 hours after checkin time only to find that the cleaning person was still preparing the cabin. This person was sweating profusely and NOT WEARING A MASK while cleaning the cabin. It was like there was no global pandemic. Seeing this maskless, sweaty cleaning person preparing the cabin was disconcerting to say the least. Both kids were too scared to even enter the cabin. We left the property and called Carolina Cabin management. They said they were really busy cleaning cabins, but did not seem to care that it wasn't ready 2.5 hours after checkin, nor that COVID-19 protocols weren't being followed. They said the cleaning staff is required to wear masks, but didn't offer any solutions to make sure COVID-19 protocols were followed while preparing the cabin. At one point the management laughed at me when I suggested that they send whoever was needed, including the manager, to reclean the cabin following proper protocols. The only solution was to refund us the money for the stay. It is a 10 hour drive home, so just leaving and going home wasn't an option. After numerous unpleasant phone discussions with Carolina Cabin management I convinced them send a different cleaner into the house who would follow proper protocols. We got into the house after 9pm (checkin is 4pm). I don't think I have encountered a management group that is so unprofessional and rather uncaring about the global pandemic. It almost ruined the whole stay. The second issue we had was that the hot tub turned green 1/2 way through the stay. I called management and they said we would have to pay 100 for service to fix, which I agreed to. After 24 hr we still hadn't heard that anyone was coming to fix the hot tub. Management said they were very busy and couldn't get anyone out to fix it yet. It was clear management had no intention of sending someone to fix the hot tub, so I just decided to cancel the request and not use the hot tub. Overall, I would say Hidden Hawk is a nice cabin and I would stay there again if it weren't for the Carolina Cabin management team.

Cozy Cabin
Wonderful stay at Hidden Hawks. Cabin had everything we needed to make our stay comfortable and enjoyable. Very clean and well kept cabin with roomy bedrooms. The three king beds was a plus. Great location being within twenty minutes to head into Boone, Banner Elk and Blowing Rock. Loved being able to walk to Otter Falls trail. The only negative was the living room space was a bit small. Loved the wrap around porch. It was great to sit and enjoy the sun and / or shade. The porch was enclosed with a gate so kids or dogs could play out on the porch and not wonder beyond. Would definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful time. The cabin was spotless and had the things we needed.

We stayed a labor Day/Birthday getaway. The kids and we had a great time exploring the area and the must-do Otter falls. The Cabin is at the top of the mountain a down a gravel road which was not an issue for us in a jeep and dry conditions. If you are going in winter definitely need a 4x4. The Cabin was very clean looks almost new. The hot tub was nice to come back and relax to. Summer does bring lots of spiders outside and around the doors so if your sqimmish beware lol. We just bought some bug stop at ingles in Boone and sprayed around the doors to keep them spider free. Over all my two dogs, kids and husband and I had a great getaway! Thank you!

Not good at all
We left Hidden Hawk yesterday morning and I called your office and spoke to a lady and advised of all of the issues. Here are some of the issues
• In the middle of the night Thursday all of the smoke detector alarms went off an scared the “Crap” out of my family. It was not a beeping but a full alarm. We checked and there was no fire but they could not be turned off so we have to pull each one down and unplug them all.
• Upon arriving Sat the 25th and driving for over 10 hours we wanted to go in hot tub. First we see a giant pile of dog shit on the deck near the bbq grill which my son almost stepped in so had to clean that up and then went to go in hot tub and was ice cold. One of our main options we wanted in Cabin was hot tub and this was major disappointment
• The following day went in hot tub to find out only the 2 back seat jets worked the other 2 nothing, the filter folder kept falling off the side and the hot tub was very old/used and not in proper working condition.
• The upstairs shower pipe had big hole in drywall and didn't seem connected to the wall
• We tried to use the oven but you cannot read the temp on the screen since it is so old or it is broken?
• Dishwasher rack wheels are broken
• Weber grill only back burner works
• All of the kitchen pans etc.. are sub-par
• The kitchen floor was dirty and stained and carpets were stained.
This was not an inexpensive cabin and if so I would expect to have some of the issues but for the price we paid this was not acceptable.

Hidden Hawk
Hidden Hawk is truly a mountain cabin and a great location. The lighting in the den & bedrooms is extremely dim and made for a really dark atmosphere. The bulbs need to be replaced w/ LEDs or another brighter bulb so it doesn't feel like you are sitting in such a dark home & can enjoy the beauty of the cabin. Also, we felt like that rental fee was high compared to other comparable places we've stayed in Boone. Overall, a nice place.

4th of July Getaway
Place was fabulous. Fit our family of 4 plus the dog easily. It is very secluded which we loved but yet drivable to Boone/Linville/Banner Elk easily. Loved the app for all the check in/check out/communication with the manager.

Hidden Hawk
The property itself is nicely furnished and has necessary supplies. Having three king beds was ideal. One thing other renters should be aware of is the quarter mile gravel road (hilly and curvy) leading into the property. While I know it is made aware that during the winter you need chains, we had constant rain while we were there and some of the gravel washed out. Other than that, great experience.

Fantastic place to stay
This was a great cabin to stay at! It was clean and welcoming and easy to get to! It even smelt like a cabin when we got there! There were instructions on how to use some of the amenities such as the hot tub and fire place which where super helpful! We will definitely be staying there again!

The house was great,the
The house was great, the owners might check into someone with more customer friendly relations, especially after spending 1000.00 dollars and raining every day except the day we left, the day after we arrived i had left my lights on and killed my battery, all I needed was a jump, the lady Friday evening said there maintenance man could probably be able to help me the next day, when i called back Saturday morning,a different person said he could call me a wrecker company,I was not impressed by the agency handling your property, maybe you should rethink that.however the house was great, and we made the best of our rained out weekend.
