The quirky layout and age of the property

Perfect location a few minutes walk from the station and looking onto the high street, spacious and quirky layout, lovely artwork, warm and comfortable bedroom, everything we needed for cooking and relaxing.
Bathroom tap dripped, could be fixed.

The apartment was lovely clean and had everything you need for your stay. Location was good bars and resturant within easy walking distance as was bus and train station. Very thoughtful and helpful host even had welcome pack {coffee/tea/milk/imformation to help our stay } would deffently stay again and hope to do so very soon.
maybe the fact shops shut very early as do pubs and resturants but soon get use to that.

Location was great. I loved being on the High Street amongst the people of Rye. The apartment was so convenient for the shops an restaurants and equally for walking and admiring all the beautiful buildings.
Obviously if you have a parking space it is a bonus. We parked close by as advised by the host and it was fine. It is easy to purchase a long term ticket from the machine and the car was perfectly safe.

The owners were very friendly and helpful and even offered for us to stay as long as we liked the check out day as there was no one staying the next day. I thought this was very kind.
I appreciate the property is very old, and it is quite quaint however the apartment requires some refurbishment. The windows are rotting and the layout is very odd, the two bedrooms are separated by a hatch and a curtain which does not give much privacy. As the property is on 2 levels, the bathroom is at opposite ends to the bedroom and on the first floor and climbing down steep old stairs was interesting in the night. The furnishings and bedding could do with freshening up. The location however was perfect on the main road in Rye, which is was the reason why we stayed there.

Spacious apartment with a dreamy living room and well stocked kitchen. The entrance and layout are quirky due to the age of the building but it’s more than fine once you find your way around. Rye high street has lots to offer and there are great walks nearby. Would come back!
For other visitors I’d keep in mind there’s a lot of stairs so not very accessible. Also the two bedrooms are connected, so that you have to walk through the main room to exit the smaller room. Worked well for our girls’ holiday but might not be ideal for every group.

The location wasn't as described, the carpets where stained, the bed mattress was stained, broken and cracked window and door glass, cracked floor tiles in kitchen, cobwebs on the lights in the kitchen, dirty crockery and cutlery, overall pretty grime, promise a 50% refund, but still waiting a week later, the owner was extremely rude and unhelpful when spoken too on the phone.

- Charming town & charming upstairs apartment (spread over two floor).
- Very clean.
- Nice beds/linen & towels.
- Excellent location on the High street.
- It didn't really affect us (as we were three sisters) but you have to go through one bedroom to get to the other..... this might be an awkward arrangement for some other parties (as it's not made particularly clear on the web page).
- The passageway to the apartment was really rather dark - could do with some sensor lighting.
- (The above are intended as constructive comments - the pluses far outweighed the minuses with this property!😊)

Access in and out of the apartment was, at best, awkward. Once inside, the level of cleanliness was disappointing, in particular the bathroom, where mould was growing around the bath. In addition we found the oven was filthy as was the microwave. There were no instructions on how to use any of the kitchen equipment.
We were equally disappointed to find that we were unable to open any windows in the property, which, because of the amount of dust in the property, made being inside extremely uncomfortable.
Add to this the noise and disruption of the building works in the neighbouring property made our week away very, very disappointing.
