we didn’t feel this was great value for money - prices were very high for our stay, overall the hostel is very expensive for just a dorm room plus also the bar is overpriced. should offer guests a discount on drinks with wristband vs visitors

the place is really nice, they have a good restaurant if you don’t want to cook, they have a bar, activities at the hostal and the company of activities water is in their dock and they have special prices for the guests

Not sure where to start from...staff were simply amazing helpful, fun and always willing to chat with guests. The hostel is super clean and there are always free activities organised by the staff..I went for a mojito class and yoga. This is not a party hostel even if there is music until 12am you can peaceful sleep. They organise a big party every Wednesday which was super nice. Travellers here were super super friendly and very respectful... Location is very convenient...10 min from the city centre. Bacalar is easy walkable ..

Nothing! Only thing is, there are parties at the bar. If you are a light sleeper, get free ear plugs from the reception! Or maybe consider another dorm

Pricey for a hostel

it was my first experience staying in a hostel, and I was pleasantly surprised, we stayed in a private room and the room was very clean with comfortable bed. I really enjoyed the morning yoga and the smoothies at the bar, the breakfast (not included) was also very delicious. The location is perfect, you have access to the lagoon and various activities, for an additional fee you can go on a boat trip, you can rent sup board etc. And there are s lot of restaurants and bars around. you can meet nice people there, unfortunately we had only one night stay there,but I bet that evening activities there are also fun. Complimentary welcome drink was a nice surprise :)

The weather was bad... but not a minus for the hostel of course. Except that I would have expected some more activities, cause everybody was hanging around doing nothing during Christmas.

The location is great if you just want to chill in one place - you can order breakfast, lunch and dinner here from the kitchen and there’s a bar. There’s filtered water and free coffee available too. There’s social activities everyday organised from 6.30am like sunset paddle boarding, yoga, workouts, and things like beer bong and salsa dancing in the evenings. You can rent paddle boards and kayaks from the hostel and there’s a company which runs boat trips too. You can access the lagoon from the end of the hostel’s pontoon for swimming. It is also really close to the town centre and other restaurants along the lagoon. Beds and lockers were spacious and had curtains (bottom bunks only). Lagoon views from each room was amazing especially sunrise. It’s definitely a social hostel.

There’s only 1 bathroom per dorm room which isn’t that many compared to how many people in each room. It was quite noisy in the evenings from the social events if you wanted an earlier night, I can imagine the neon party on Wednesdays would be really noisy - so I’d avoid staying then if you’re not into party hostels or you could ask for a quieter room. The shared kitchen was quite small if there were lots of you cooking in it.

no space for excercise

I think this was the best hostel I have ever stayed at. Amazing location, nice staff, clean, spacious rooms. It felt like paradise. The hostel had tons of free events, which were so fun, especially if traveling alone! Examples were free cocktail making lessons (and yes, you drank them afterwards), free Spanish lessons, live music around a fireplace, as well as yoga and workout sessions in the morning. You could also book activities at the hostel such as Kayaking or Stand up Padeling and leave right from the jetty of the hostel. The city centre was a short 5 minute walk away and had loads of small shops and restaurants. The hostel also has its own restaurant and it always tasted great. People of all ages were staying there, so it's perfect for a holiday with friends, on your own, or a family trip! Everything looks exactly like on the property pictures! I really urge you to go here if you visit Bacalar.

The hostel has its own bar, therefore you were not allowed to bring your own alcohol. But the bar was unfortunately quite expensive for young people who are simply traveling.
