The hotel was a real palace and surprised us at every turn! We were in the room of Jaume I the conqueror who is a direct great grandfather of my husband so it was so exciting, and we had a veritable suite of rooms for family "parties"!

It is unfortunate that there is no lift in this hotel. Also that we were rushed away from the breakfast table even though it was new year when everybody had been up very late and we just wanted to linger over another coffee.

Lovely old castle We were attending a wedding. Beautiful reception in the garden with lovely tapas. Younger receptionist was very friendly and helpful

The room for the wedding was very modern and didn’t reflect the the history of the castle The overflow hotel is extremely basic and would not recommend it at all ! Older receptionist was a bit abrupt

This restored palace was a fantastic place to stay. The historic atmosphere felt luxurious and the location was within close proximity to the old city, Monday markets and a walking trail to the 13th century Montgri Castle.

The outdoor pool was lovely despite a chilly water temperature.

We were very surprised by the first impression and especially by the welcome: reserved parking space with our name on it; Tesla charger free of charge and above al, VERY friendly maintenance gentleman in the parking space.

This is not a place for those expecting glimmering comfort: no elevator, "antique" room and surroundings.

The hotel building is fantastic and the room was amazing. The staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast was served on the terrace and was not a buffet! A great change from the norm.

I would not recommend eating an evening meal there. The dish I chose was not very good value and frankly quite poor. I was expecting more. That is the only negative comment I have and please don't let it put you off.

We were travelling with some food items that required to be refrigerated and thermogels to be re-frozen. The reception staff was so kind and offered to place them in their kitchen's fridge and freezer until out departure the next day. When making a booking, we didn't quite realise that this would be a real historic castle and were very impressed by it when we arrived! We got one of the 2 big rooms. We inquired some info about the castle's history and were pleasantly surprised that King Jaime I himself (liberator of Valencia) stayed in this hotel and it dates back to the IX century! Make sure you ask for the history info sheet! Absolutely amazing!

Just one minor thing: The restaurant staff was very attentive and nice, and the starters were great but I was shocked by the size of my main dish (lamb leg) when it arrived - I could barely eat half of it and I hated having to waste it. I've eaten enough lamb legs to anticipate its size, but that one was twice sd big. I requested that they don't throw it away and at least feed it to a cat or a dog. I would have appreciated being warned about the portion size before making an order.

beautiful original building in a beautiful town. The setting is exquisit. Very friendly staff.

The service is not 4-star worthy: the is no bar-service, restaurant has limited opening hours, noise from neighbouring rooms, the rooms are outdated, breakfast is not varied enouhg for a multi-day-stay

Should be ‘updated’! it says 4 stars hotel but service is same as an hostel one. no xtra comforts in room, dirty pool, poor breakfast even is everythin served.

The building is absolutely lovely, you'll feel like some kind of medieval royalty, or perhaps as if you've wandered into a Harry Potter scene. The restaurant is nice. Very spacious room and bathroom, and a nice view. Breakfast/restaurant staff very friendly.

The breakfast could come with a little more vegetarian-friendly options. Area surrounding the hotel is not particularly interesting or attractive, with perhaps the exception of a small rambla.

A gorgeous place to stay!! We ate in the restaurant and the food was excellent.... a stunning place for a special occasion.

lovely old property, good size room.

communal areas dirty, a quick run of a ginger along a shelf or statue showed heavy dust. it was all rather tired and needs a revamp.

A lovely hotel with very friendly staff. The bonus was off street parking within grounds.

A small problem with shower which needed attention. I informed staff on leaving.

No drinking water in the room at night

No bottle water in room No milk for coffee and tea tray/only one coffee sachet and tea bag!-this had already been highlighted 2 years ago by reviewers. Fridge not working Restaurant/poor service/only couple to be asked for Covid passes whilst other dinners did not! Thought we shown ours when booking in to the hotel. Food was cold and under cooked. Plate not warmed/had to return back to the kitchen.

Very nice hotel situated inside the old palace right in the center of the town, next to town’s church. Comfortable room, clean.

Maybe the breakfast could be better
