The lady at reception was so kind and helpful, and the hotel is extremely nice, plus it's right across the street from the amazing monastery, meaning the view from my window was fabulous. The breakfast was a buffet and really ample.

After booking the hotel staff were exceptionally helpful online with immediate replies to my messages and helped me find buses. Thank you. I will always be greatful. It is impossible to find this information in the UK. Other hotels refuse! So I cancel! Spotlessly clean everywhere with an excellent selection at breakfast and very quiet in an exceptional location.

A grumpy lady in Reception did not want to give me the room I booked and asked for 10 Euros more for a doble in place of TWO singles! Luckily the problem of not having the room I booked with a view of the monastery was partially resolved with the help of a male on Reception and by me showing the staff what customers see online of what the hotel is offering on Booking.com. It clearly shows a balcony and view of the monastery! But problem soon forgotten as male smiled, was helpful and the room was so clean and the view from the balcony and I hope myself being polite helped. Sorry this stopped me rating higher.

My room 217 had a balcony that overlooked the monastery. It was a 5-minute walk to the monastery and to the local cafe that faced it. This is probably the nicest hotel I have stayed in for the price in quite a while. Ownership clearly cares about their property. Breakfast included was a real breakfast. I have already told my family this is the place if going to Alcobaca. See

Amazing view of the monastery. The air-conditioning was very welcome after a week of near-40 degrees. Hotel is a little faded decor-wise but that's made up for by the staff, ease of parking, proximity to restaurants.

Great location next to the Alcobaça Monastery which the top landmark of this city. Definitely recommend and I'd stay there again.

Breakfast could be more varied but it was good. The house cake was very nice and I normally don't eat cake.

There was loud music from a private reception in the hotel and the room was not cleaned out with fresh towel and toiletries for our second night.

Comfortable bed, great shower (amazing water pressure!), good breakfast, excellent location. I stayed here for several days on two separate occasions, and would definitely return next time I'm in Alcobaca.

The hotel could definitely use some updating - rooms were carpeted (only place I found that in all the hotels I stayed at in Portugal). Bathroom had lots of space to put things but the shower head could definitely use replacing! These were small things which would bring the hotel up to date and lose that somewhat "tired" feeling.

Excellent view on the monastery. Big free outside and payed inside parking. Several restaurants in vicinity, we can recommend Pratu's (delicious meals, friendly staff). Located just next to monastery, short driving distance to Batalha and Nazaré.

Too intense sweet smell in the room. Scrambled eggs for breakfast could be warmer.

Not the first time staying here. It is in a very central location, just in front of the monastery. Great value for the price. Hotel itself needs is outdated, but its very clean, rooms are comfortable. Breakfast basic, but good.

The heater wasn't working and the room got cold during the night.

It is my second time staying here. An excellent budget place, very central location- just next to the monastery (my room had a view to it). The room is basic, but comfortable and spotlesss. There is parking available. Breakfast included is pretty good. Nothing really to complain about it.
