Great location and the restaurant, Ginja, was excellent. Staff universally helpful and friendly - especially the gentleman who succeeded in making a dinner reservation for me at the Harbour House. The garden and pool at the sister hotel, the Dockhouse, really are only a stone’s throw away and beautifully peaceful.

I found the room decor very dark and heavy: deep red chairs, dark brown curtains, dark brown faux-leather headboard, black furniture…. I would love to see the light and blues of the location reflected in the colour scheme. Or maybe it’s meant to look like a Victorian gentlemen’s club.

Very good selection of food at breakfast, kind and efficient service, food all very well cooked and presented. Kind and helpful staff on reception, an excellent location and we hope to have the opportunity to stay at the Victoria and Alfred again in the future.

A few more hangers for clothes in the wardrobe would have been useful.

A delightful hotel. So many try hard to be perfect or better than they are. The V&A is just a very classy hotel. I've stayed before and never been less than satisfied with my stay. Everyone I know who has stayed there says the same. The staff are supremely professional and welcoming, and always attentive.

we loved everything about this place. The staff was extremely helpful and polite. It is right on the waterfront in the middle of it all. there is a taxi stand right out front and Uber is super easy to use as well. thank you for a wonderful stay!

old fashioned decor, ( although bathroom was lovely) lack of lighting in bedroom, cost of rooms ( appreciate it was NYE) but still very expensive

Poorly managed - multiple requests for payment directly after booking. multiple requests even after it was paid. my mobile phone number was handed out to tourists agency (Data protection breach) & late check out was confirmed twice but on last day was suddenly not acknowledged. would not stay here again

We stayed several times at V&A. And it was always fine, located at the waterfront.

The whole area around and inside the hotel is under construction. Noise and dust everywhere. They‘d better close it. Prices have gone up a lot. Obviously new owners.

Easy online booking process, great location and surprisingly quiet with the construction taking place right now. I was able to leave my bags in a secure lock up to explore the waterfront prior to check in.

I left a brand new shirt still in the shopping bag, with tags and all in the wardrobe. Housekeeping alleged they didn't see it.
