Very rude manager (Mr. Hassan)!! We were misled by the photos on booking.com. The room was nothing like it. When we raised with the manager, he was defensive even before listening to us. Clearly this was not the first time someone complained about the false advertising.
Everything about the hotel was false advertising.

Poor communication

Cleanliness and comfort were excellent. Staff were polite, obliging and helpful even if they knew nothing about the local area. The manageress was impressive, stylishly dressed, commanding, clearly on top of things, and taking no nonsense. The impression given was that all the staff were shipped in. The suites (posh word for rooms) were well appointed with all that one could want, including a noisy fridge (which we had to turn off at night) and a very nice bathroom.
In fairness, the rates were reasonable, and the service excellent.
You would never have known you were in the heart of Scotland. The decor could have been in Melbourne, Dubai, Chicago or anywhere else. It was clinical, grey and charmless. Splodgy black and white amorphous pictures, a bit like ink blots, clearly deliberate. Management must have thought this was just the ticket. You have to wonder if that is what they would want on the corridor walls in their own homes. I rather doubt it.
The place was a bit staid. It lacked character. It was international bland.
By the way, forget having a cooked breakfast. The price was ridiculous. It might have been nice to have one but at £21? That's more expensive than London or Edinburgh. So we didn't.

The hotel was lovely, the rooms spacious. Very clean. The staff were very helpful.
I’m a vegetarian and the options were very limited for dinner. Risotto and gnocchi! As I don’t like gnocchi it only left one choice. We were there 3 nights and menu on the Friday was risotto and gnocchi and was a different variation of the two dishes Saturday and Sunday so pretty rubbish.
The food was expensive (think it was £23 for the risotto?) and my husband had thai curry the last night and the chicken was chewy!
They advertised a Sunday roast but when we went for dinner at 6.30 they didn’t have any despite a board outside hotel advertising it?!

Beautiful part of Scotland to visit. The hotel is lovely and everything is of a high standard. The staff were all very nice & all looked smart in their uniforms.
We visited the hotel years ago before the refurbishment & feel it's lost a bit of it's old Scottish character. Our room was comfortable although the shower had no pressure & don't know if that had something to do with the blocked pipe in the kitchen area that we were told not to use. The TV wasn't great either only seemed to get a couple of channels & they scrambled a lot too. We weren't so keen on the restaurant area it was a bit dark & bland & was also used for breakfast. We felt it might have been better in the area where the big sofas were as there was more space & light there. We also felt the continental breakfast was very basic for a 5* hotel. There wasn't much choice & sometimes was empty & people had to wait a while for things to be filled up. The service was slow. Yeah we could've had a cooked breakfast but thought the prices were a bit steep on top of what we'd already paid.

Excellent location in the middle of Highlands. Perfect continental breakfast. Really excellent rooms, convenient parking near the hotel. Just two hours drive from Edinburgh Airport.
When you arrive at the hotel first what they tell you- is to pay deposit 100 GBP per day and 15/20 GBP extra per day per person for cooked breakfast (you won’t need it as they have goof continental breakfast included in the rate). Staff are very good people but definitely not trained enough for 5 star hotel. Bar closes very early

Ruime kamer en mooi ingericht hotel. Locatie was ook geweldig. Super vriendelijke medewerkers.
Sommige dingen waren er niet die wel stonden aangegeven bv was service, maar gezien het feit dat het afgelegen is begrijp ik dat ook wel weer.
4.1
Beautiful hotel, with lovely rooms, views and excellent comfort.
The management of the hotel is lacking. On Friday evening when the restaurant got a little busy, the kitchen got overwhelmed and the service fell dramatically. It took half an hour for starters and an hour for the main to come out - the main was clearly rushed as the food that came out wasn’t entirely correct & the steak was covered in blood. The manager didn’t know exactly how the handle the situation and the check out was not smooth, the manager, again, was a little frazzled. For a great hotel, you’d think it only just opened and the management was still trying to figure out how to run a hotel which was a shame.
4.1
Lovely room, great Noir (White Company) products, handy having a kitchenette and coffee maker with pods, beautiful soft, big bed and extremely comfy sofabed, great duvets.
Would have been good to have had some crockery and cutlery (other than tea/coffee mugs) given you're given a kitchenette and microwave/oven.

Breakfast was probably one of the best cooked breakfasts I have ever had (and least greasy)
Our room was extremely spacious and exceeded our expectations.
But it was the staff who made our visit so perfect.
Francisco was a great help with our booking and Natasha (receptionist/waitress) and Harry (barman) were exceptional. Collectively they made our stay such a memorable one. We will be back !
There is nothing that could have made our stay better. Nothing !

Clean historic but modern
Extremely rural

location, bed, food, decor and surroundings, staff.
could be cleaner in the room. cushion has stains, towel wasn’t clean, dirty microwave, dirty brown stain on the wall right next to the toilet 🤔.
shower pressure could be better.

The manager and the staff so kind and nice
There is no air conditioning and Its so far and there’s no gym in it and there’s nothing around the hotel or near
4.1
The room and bathroom was big and fully equipped and the bed was good. The locations and the building are very beautiful, worthy of the drive in the middle of nowhere. And definitely worth the price on comparison to all other stays we had in Schottland.
The stuff did not offer a 5* service as in other similar hotels (from a practical point of view and the vibe of service), and the cleaning was suboptimal. The restaurant in the hotel offers tasty food but is very pricy and one of the slowest services I have ever seen - from ordering the main food (even with no starters) takes 1.5h! And keep in mind there is really no other choice to eat elsewhere but another hotel (which in our case was fully booked).

Comfy, large bed. Modern decor, friendly staff.
Drinks were expensive but it was an upmarket place.

Location & views simply stunning, Staff were very professional and helpful, food & drinks were good - expensive though, with no other alternatives nearby what do you do??
Not Much, we had an issue on arrival with our room, the General manager - who was excellent, remedied the issue with minimum fuss.

Suite was very comfortable,
Dinner was brilliant though a wee bit pricey,
Breakfast exceptional but couldn't find 'not cubed' sugar. Staff rather busy so let a couple of cubes melt on my cornflakes!
Young female receptionist was very efficient when it came to resolving my mistakes when booking.

My 3rd visit and its consistently very good in terms of of atmosphere, really nice staff, very clean, unobtrusive quality decor and design. Good linen. Excellent resources in room. Good breakfast choices. Fantastic location.
Dinner OK but the not the standard to go with surroundings or price.
4.1
Perfect location, rooms very spacious, modern and equipped with everything you need. Lovely touch with Scottish shortbread and bottled water in the rooms.
Our room didn’t seem to be finished. Patchy Plaster on the walls and ceiling.
Some of the cleanliness there was dirty towels in our room.

Rooms were clean and spacious. Bed was comfortable.
Staff were friendly, but not enough of them. We went to breakfast and sat for 35minutes waiting on toast. Eventually we tired of waiting and left.

The F&B department could have been more delighted and they neked to learn how to make proper coffee.

central location, great breakfast and comfortable bed.
4.1
The scenery
The room was meant to be “superior” but was very claustrophobic. Tiny windows and no specs between bed and tv wall. Nowhere to put suitcases. Very heavy duvet.
4.1
Nice location for hiking & exploring, easy parking, comfortable beds
Dinner @ the restaurant arrived quite late & the waiter forgot to bring drinks we ordered (recommendation: offer a free desert & acknowledge mistake), the room on the ground floor did not have a nice view.
4.1
Very modern, high quality carpets, curtains, kitchen, bathroom, bed and linen.
Lots of room to spread out.
Excellent restaurant and restaurant staff.
Reception staff cold and not particularly welcoming
