The fridge was tiny, the room we were in had faulty sensors so the night light and cupboard light kept coming on while we were sleeping and gave us a fright

Checking in took at least 20 minutes. Very little or no assistance or guidance as to facilities or dinning in the casino hotel or surrounds. Staff did not know.

Overally we had a lovely stay, let me be clear. Just pointing out that the beds were too soft and we went home with sore backs. The extra underlays made them like sleeping on marshmallow and made the beds too hot. We stripped them off but the padding on the top of the bed was similar so there was TWO lots of padding on the beds. You couldn't turn the aircon down low enough so we were freezing or turned it off and we were too hot. There was ridiculous sensor lights in rooms so whenever someone moved in the night the hall lights and bathroom lights came on!! BIZARRE. You should be able to disable this. I rang reception to check and the method they gave me to turn it off didn't work. I had to sleep with a pillow trying to hide the ilght. Also, there was a fridge in the room that was too difficult to figure out the settings on. We think it was either a fridge or a freezer – not both so we bought some ice cream trying to keep it frozen and it didn't freeze, but if we turned it to freeze mode, it froze things we didn't want frozen. We had to google or YouTube how to figure this out and still couldn't. There might be a way of doing both but not that we could find after doing heaps of research online. Should it be that hard? One of the bedrooms clearly smelled of smoke and there were discarded cigarette butts on the blacony. They offered to swap us to another room but we had completely unpacked by then and bought groceries in our fridge to supplement our stay so we opened up windows as much as we could which helped. My young daughter didn't have the energy to move with us so we put up with it

Original room that was booked was not given to us - they had put someone else in our room so we were given another room and then had to pack up and move for the last two nights. Rooms were not overly clean, could not order room service through the online QR system & no mini bar items in room. Pool outside was not heated so not desirable for a late afternoon swim, spa was a better option. Staff eventually solved our room issue but were overall not great to deal with. They attempted to charge us valet parking without notifying us on arrival that our car was being parked in the valet section (parking was included in our booking but options and details were not specified on arrival). Could not get the aircon to work in the rooms for the final night so sleep wasn’t comfortable.

close to the city and everything. lots to do around the area. Entertainment hub at the Star. The staff were so friendly and lovely. Not sure how to fault the stay.

Great location. Very handy to have easy access to the light rail. Beautiful room, very quiet with a spacious and elegant design.

Signage isn't great, very difficult to know where to check in when you enter the building.

The pillows were not comfortable as your head sinks in the middle of them.

The bed was so comfortable and the room was very roomy with good views. Love the automatic blinds. We were impressed that my wife's favourite tea was replenished day after day (we stayed 4 days). Nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Great dining options in the Star complex and even more options just outside.

There was nothing to complain about. Not at all.

We did not get the harbour view room we booked. In stead we had a ground floor room near the pool area, that was very busy with so many kids running around.

Downgraded, room was average, coffee machine did not work, nil harbour views that we booked and paid for months in advance. Overlooked a rooftop with overgrown weeds and directly looked into the pool area that was overrun with kids and families.

The Star Grand was just divine. The staff were welcoming and attentive. The room was clean and welcomed you as you enter weed by opening the blinds and calling you to their fabulously comfy beds. We indulged in breakfast in our room the next morning which was served hot and delicious. A great stay.

No Netflix or cable for additional RV choices . But that is being picky.

The complimentary room upgrade was exceptional! The room was exceptionally big, and there were enough showers for us all to shower at once without rushing. There were televisions in every room, allowing us to watch television programmes easily without having to go to the living room. There were many dining places near our hotel room, saving us the trouble to spend money on an Uber to dine at other places. The balcony of our room had a great view. Enjoyed it daily by drinking coffee there.

No immediate access to pool and gym because they are under renovation. Too troublesome to walk to Darling Hotel to use their pool. Cucina Porto restaurant did not want to let us into the restaurant because we didn't make a reservation. There were clearly tables not reserved in the restaurant, the waiter just did not want to let us in. My husband did a last-minute booking and we managed to get in, which proves my point that the waiter just did not want to let us in. Serving was also very slow.

Had a twin room that was very spacious. Beds were queen size and very comfortable. Shower was excellent. Location was terrific as we were seeing a show at the Lyric Theater.

Unfortunately, one of the beds had a hole in the sheet which I wasn't told about until the morning. And no milk in the fridge to make a cup of tea/coffee.
