The selection at breakfast was an amazing. Everything you needed and more cooked items were delivered so fast the chef must have been on speed dial!! Hot plates efficient staff all easy to get to and find

Please please paint the horrible wood panel on the corner. Lower the ugly gate and make this area look better as first impressions count. cover it in a plant or something. The Gardner has made such an effort with the flowers even covering drains so why has this area been neglected ?

We booked this for our wedding anniversary On arrival we checked in went to room , was not room I booked was hairs on bed and a bug , stains on walls and carpet , bathroom had black mould round shower wardrobe doors rusted at bottom not clean at all went to reception to complain says no more rooms available even though I checked hotel website , was told check your terms and conditions we receptionist handed keys back to her and we left the hotel totally disgusted at the attitude and was not prepared to resolve our complaints about the room

Limited parking- no space when we arrived. 3rd floor attic type room had very low angled ceilings, had to duck as easy to hit head.

The location central but it was nice and peaceful!

The staff in this hotel were super friendly and helpful. The restaurant had an excellent chef, so we enjoyed some excellent meals and a fabulous breakfast. The pool and fitness centre was very clean and well equipped and there was also a great hot jacuzzi and steam room. It was a very short walk to the town centre, bus stop and train station.

Poor selection of main course food, we eat out at another hotel where the menu was a lot better.

Buffet breakfast had good choice of items but think some hot items had been pre-cooked. Scrambled eggs were awful, completely tasteless & dry. Stacked Cups & glasses were tacky/sticky on bottoms. Bedroom in general was a bit dated & shower grouting wasn't the best.

Great location- so close to the centre! Breakfast was excellent! The swimming pool was nice. The entrance area for the hotel was lovely and well decorated. Bed was comfy. Loved that, as well as tea and instant coffee in the room, there was also a coffee machine (although we didn’t use this!) Friendly staff.

The carpet in our room was old fashioned and the room was not what I would have expected at a ‘Spa Hotel’- however the beds were comfortable. The jacuzzi looked like it needed a clean as some dirt had gathered on the step into it. The hotel seemed to be quite understaffed (but the staff who were there were friendly!)

The location was great. The vegetarian cooked breakfast was really good.

Very creaky floorboards in the room above and the corridor. Kept us awake most of the night. Our room was on street level and we had to keep the blinds closed for privacy so there was no view. Paid a lot for a superior room but unfortunately I would not have said it was superior in any way.

Staff were fine, but didn’t appear to be engaged with their role. No assistance as to how to locate our room, no indication as to where breakfast would be. Also seemed strange that there did not seem to be corporate wear to identify who were guests and who were staff. Decor was generally tired and in need of attention. Location of sockets were not ideal i.e. not near bedside tables. On one side of the bed it was not possible to plug the lamp. However, mattress was comfortable. Bathroom was a huge let down and can only be described as dirty. Nowhere to put own toiletries either. Didn’t mention the bathroom on check out as we were not asked if we had enjoyed our stay or if everything was ok so it seemed rather pointless. Having stayed the previous night at a sister hotel which was excellent, it’s hard to see how this one could have been so different.

Our room was not as advertised. Two dining chairs stuck against radiator which had no space to use. Twin room beds small. Radiator didn’t work. Swimming changing room needing an upgrade. One cubicle to change in! Surprised that the reception was also the.bar. Cold breakfast choice very poor.

The most horrendously run hotel I've ever stayed in in my life. I've stayed here previously and had extremely poor service, but I booked this again in the hope it had changed. It has changed; unfortunately for the worse. I requested an earlier check in noticing the few dozen rooms still available at the point of booking the day before, and I was told I had to wait until after three which I do accept. However, upon arrival after 3:00, I was told I had to wait for the room because they were not ready yet. I wasn't on my own as there were a number of other people sitting round reception as their rooms were also not ready. I was told by the receptionist that of course it was not ready - “check in is from 3:00 PM which means it can be any time after 3” she claimed. I have never heard anything so absurd – does this mean it could have been 10pm as that is “after 3”. I think she needs to a lesson in English as one minute past three would be from when someone can check-in. We met a number of people at reception with the same issues. One particular guest was a young guy who had paid for a surprise for his girlfriend's birthday for champagne and balloons this had not happened and his weekend was ruined – felt sorry for the poor lad. There was also an older couple still waiting for the room to be cleaned from the morning. There was a large number of people waiting for the rooms before they could check in. The receptionist asked me if I wanted to see the manager. I said yes, but was told I would have to wait. I said I didn't see any point so I requested a refund. Looking around, I could see there was no point in waiting because this wasn't going to happen anytime soon. We then checked into a different hotel which had the same facilities but £30 cheaper per night and had a wonderful stay. Please avoid this hotel at all cost. Over the years, we have attempted to stay here on deals and coupons, etc. but it's not worth £1 a night.

Location was really good

We was very disappointed with the pool and spa facilities as it was very cold and there was lots of mold in changing rooms. Breakfast arrived cold and burnt when we did get served, but they never even came to take our order on one morning, which was disappointing. In our room it was really cold, window didn't fit properly so let it a lot of cold plus radiators only came on now and again so ended up quite cold at night. Shower became blocked and whrn toilet was flushed water came up into the shower cubical and then the shower became unblocked. Asked for a plumber but later was told nobody had even informed the plumber so felt very unhygienic using the shower afterwards. Unfortunately we had booked for 4 nights and felt like we had been well and truly ripped off as we did not get the break we had planned. Would not stay here again, in all very disappointed with our stay at this hotel.

on more than one occasion the domestic staff did not replenish coffees etc, bins were not emptied daily. Due to the hotel taking payment too early my card was blocked, they continued to do this (at least 12 times) they finally informed me as I was driving home. I explained that I was unable to do anything till I got home but they continued to try.

Going home no one wants to be there very bad at reception no one is going to stay if you can’t park car told no disability places first come free for all

This hotel cost me a parking fine of £60 because the receptionist on arrival advised me that if I wrote down my car reg she would ensure my car was registered in the car park. She didn’t and subsequently I received a fine of £60. When I complained to the hotel they said it was my word against hers and that it was my responsibility to check in my own car. When I advised I’d be leaving a negative review I was informed to “do what you want!” By an incredibly rude individual. The whole one night visit to this hotel has ultimately cost me £180 for a very average hotel …..absolutely avoid at all costs!
