Usual room standard of good cleanliness and facilities

Building work right next door to my room went on till 6pm. I asked reception to come and listen to the jack hammer going next door against the wall. The receptionist did come and said they weren't supposed to be Woking so late and she would have them stop. It went on till 6pm. It then started, same jack hammer, at 07.40hrs the following morning. Absolutely unacceptable. Either the contractors must keep to agreed working hours or the room should not have been sold. I understand there is a balance with new building work going on but this was an epic fail. I understand the work will finish in August. I won't be staying in Valk Sneek again till after that time. I regularly use Valk hotels in my travels around NL and usually the standard is uniform.

As always Van der Valk hotels take a lot of effort to decorate their hotels and make then welcoming. Dinner was great and the staff is great.

the beds are not great; very soft and massive pillows. I could not get comfortable.

Well organized and spacious room. Large desk and large TV. In the bathroom, there is a large bath to relax and separate shower. The bed is not too firm.

The pillows are too thick. Some of the lights are a bit loose so the lampshade is not held tight. A detail.

Very nice hotel in Sneek. Stayed only a short night but accommodated everything I needed. Friendly check-in, friendly breakfast staff, comfortable bed, amazing shower and everything was very clean!!!

The room numbers do not match the floor numbers. the 3xx rooms are on the 2nd floor. You can fix this by naming the room numbers on the ground floor 001 - 032. It's a very small thing, but really triggered my OCD.

We booked a room with 2 single beds,but it was not it was a double,we informed reception and they quickly separated the beds,seem to get that problem frequently when I book via Booking.com, You almost never seem to get 2 single beds,even though it has been confirmed.

A streak of bad experiences with this hotel (for business travelling) 1. The room had non operational heating. When I called the reception about the issue, they came to the room and witnessed that the heating didn't work, despite the fan making sound. They changed my room and told me "i hope the heating works in this new room". I hope that they had checked themselves before sending me to another cold room. The heating didn't work in that room either. After flights and customer meetings, I was too tired to change yet another room so I just stayed there. cold. 2. The rooms with lake view actually overlooks a small pond. The room's balcony is common with the rest of the rooms in the floor. It is like a corridor. You have people passing by your room window, smoking and overlooking inside your room. Only way to have privacy is to close the blackout curtains. Why pay for a lake view if you cannot see it though? 3. The balcony has a bright light, outside each room that cannot be turned off from the room. You spend the night with the interrogation light making the room extremely bright. Unless again you close the blackout curtains 4. The water pressure is just non-existent. The shower head is borderline dripping, forcing you to stay in the shower for a long time in order to wash the soap off
