A good hostel, perfect for a night waiting the mentawai fast ferry, (only 800mtr away) Git (J) Was very kind and helpful for anything from food suggestions to a quick lift to an atm. The roof lounge Is nice with a pool table and a small pool too. The room was ok, clean enough. A/c. The shared bathroom was ok clean enough with a hot shower. A lot of restaurants/cafè/shops by feet in the nearby.

Near a loud Road. ((Attention: consider a possible cancellation of the Mentawai fast boat !!!))

Gee, one of the owners, is amazing! He was very open and friendly and made me feel at home. The bed is comfortable and upstairs on the rooftop is a nice place to chill and hangout. For a lone girl-traveller it was great! Thank you so much!

Nothing, I have stayed twice on my way to the Mentawis and I would stay again.

The staff here are amazing. They will do everything to help you and are around to hang out with and grab some food with. The common area is homey with coffee and tea available. Rooms are clean and you get given a soft towel to use. Lots of people hanging out every evening with beers available in the fridge. Also a good location in the city for restaurants and the Mentawai ferry.

We loved our stay at Kokos! Gee and Marcos were the best, they organized everything for us! They picked us up from the airport, took us to a great restaurant for dinner, and even went around the town to help us find sunscreen. We are so grateful! Thank you so much.

Close to the ferry, suuuuper helpful staff who sort everything out for you to get you out to the Mentawis. Will be staying here next time for sure.

Can’t recommend this place highly enough! The location is excellent, particularly in relation to the Port, which is the gateway to the Mentawai islands. The beds are very comfortable, the air-conditioning is good and the WiFi is excellent. The social area up on the roof top is also awesome. But the best thing about this place is the owners Rindi and Marko who are very accommodating, knowledgable about the local area / Mentawai islands and their amazing offers of day / night trips and ferries.

But just be sure not to take the room next to the bathroom on the first floor. If someone switched on the light in the bathroom it was like the light in your room got switched on. The window connecting the common bathroom and our room let in all the light. That wasn’t the worst part though. You could literally hear everything. You could hear people brushing teeth, or wash their hands. That sound won’t hunt you in your sleep. The sound of someone taking a huge dump, including the heavy breathing that comes with it most definitely will. Seriously, it was like we actually slept next to the toilet. We could wash away our bad ‘dreams’ the next morning with nothing but toast and ice cream syrup. Never again.
