Back in my favourite apartment in Barker Lane which is set back off the street down a quaint lane & feels very secure for a lone female traveller. Well lit and very quiet. It’s like a scene from Dickens, especially when it snows, with the street lamps and cobbles. I know I can get supplies with a 5 min walk to the local mini mart, plus it’s an easy stride with a heavy case to the station. I often attend the Cookery School at The Grand which is just at the bottom of the hill and when I’m ready to explore, York is just over the river. I have everything I need in the apartment and it’s warm and snug and the perfect place to unwind after a busy day. The addition of a throw on the sofa this time was a nice surprise and kept my feat toasty as I’d forgotten my slippers.
I’m very sensitive to dust & after sneezing a few times in the bedroom I realised there was quite a lot of it on the ceiling light shade. The part that could be reached from standing on the bed was dusted, but the other side was quite laden with dust.

Great location only a 10m walk to The Shambles. Plenty of places to eat and drink in the immediate vicinity. The building was easy to get into with the door code and no trouble finding the keys to our appartment. The entryway smelled lovely walking in and was very well kept. The appartment was lovely and clean. The underfloor heating in the bathroom was a lovely unexpected surprise. Very much enjoyed our stay and would absolutely stay again in the future.
Whilst the bed itself was very comfy, a couple of different types of pillow firmness would have been appreciated. We had very soft pillows on our stay that had no support, so I did struggle to sleep with these. The TV's were also very slow, and when we tried using the Plex app it really struggled to play anything on there to the point we gave up with it.

The property was spacious and tastefully furnished. The bed was really comfortable and the apartment was quiet - so you get a good night’s sleep! It is in a great location for walking into the city and the main sights.
When we arrived we were met with a really strong ‘fake fragrance’ smell - the cleaners had been very heavy handed with room freshener. Even after leaving all the windows open while we went out for a couple of hours, when we returned the smell was still there. Some people are allergic, or sensitive to these types of fragrances and they don’t even smell pleasant, so they should be avoided, there is no need to use them. Also for an apartment with a full sized dishwasher, there were not enough glasses - 2 large water glasses, 2 wine glasses & 2 champagne flutes (4 of each would have been good).

Lovely property, spacious and clean , good location.
When you check out they won’t keep your luggage for you. They used to and this is a shame when you want to continue to explore York for a few more hours until your train is due. We checked out 1/10/24 and the receptionist was miserable. She didn’t even say how was your stay, hope you’ve enjoyed your stay etc. The room card was just taken, with no communication.

The apartment has everything you need, definitely a home from home, is also nicely decorated. We did find a couple of dirty things behind the couch in the living room and underneath but it didn’t bother us.
The staff on arrival I felt like she didn’t want to be there,( sorry you had to work that weekend love) we arrived early just before 12 and the apartment had been cleaned as we seen the housekeeper finishing off, we were told we had to wait til 3pm i do understand that hotels make money from early check ins and late check outs but I was never offered the option either.

We stayed at The Lawrance Luxury Aparthotel on Sunday 15th September 2024 as part of our wedding anniversary celebrations. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The apartment was stunning, very clean and had everything you would need for your stay. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom has underfloor heating, which was a great added bonus. The location of the apartment was great, as were the grounds. A short walk into the city centre and a convenience store and coffee shop only a minute away. Would definitely recommend it and will definitely stay again.

Property was clean and modern. The bed was very comfortable, possibly the best sleep I’ve had! Easy/efficient check-in/out. Very close walking distance to everything, no need to pay for taxis/Ubers. Very good value for money. Overall 10/10.

Loved the complex, the instructions to enter the building were easy to follow. The rooms were very spacious and the beds very comfortable.
The shower was difficult to use, very stiff controls. It would be nice if there could be some left luggage facility though there is a company just across the road, recommended to us by the apartment.

Customer care was dreadful. Ruined our stay. Two members of party refused to stay and booked somewhere else causing a lot of additional expense and hassle. Missed half the races as Lawrence refused to let us leave our bags. Offered to pay extra but told to take it to a luggage storage unit. More expense, Had to go and get ready at rest of parties changed accomodation .They had no issues. Their accomodation couldn't have been more helpful and understanding.. Numerous additional taxis required. Codes to get in the building changed constantly and trying to negotiate in the dark in the pouring rain was not fun.

The TV in the living room didn’t work. Wouldn’t turn on at all. We rang 5 times and also left messages for reception about it. No one followed up or came to fix. We were looking forward to watching some TV after our meal. Had to sit on the bed and watch a TV half the size of the Living room and way too far away.
