Fantastic hotel, food gorgeous and great value for money. Staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel spotless clean and well kept. We loved our stay, will definately be back
a bit hilly but thats Crete.
3.5
Close to main street and great staff overall!
Rooms need upgrading and AC could have been updated!

Breakfast was excellent and plentiful. A variety of items were offered such as eggs and omelettes, cold cuts and cheeses, fruits and yogurt of four different flavours along with many other items.
Our bathroom was a bit tight.

Staff were great, really helpful and friendly
Breakfast was very good and plentiful
Staff are a big asset to this hotel
All in all we had a great holiday and stay at this hotel
We would definitely stay at this hotel again
many thanks to you all
The rooms do need brightening up as they are very dull, dark furnishings and bed coverings
Pool area beds and parasols need replacing as are old and warn out.
These changes would make this an exceptional hotel as all the grounds and pool area are very pleasant
5.0
the location of the property just a few steps away from the beach situated on a small hill providing excellent view of the sea. Very clean property including the pool and infrastructure. Staff very polite and doing their outmost to make a guest’s stay very comfortable.
1.5
Comfortable bed, good breacfast
Very noisy from the main kitchen, the hotel is up on the hill, if you don't have the car it is hard to walk to the beach, it is not close to beach. Dosen't worth for the money. Also, be careful when make reservation, because when we made reservation the for the hotel the price was 614 eur for 7 nights, and when we payed they took 1044 eur from us. Very disapointed, we made complain to Booking but they wanted a print screen from the 614 euro price (i can go back in time and make a print screen, i never make one when i make reservation)
3.5
very clean, good breakfast, good location, polite and helpful staff & we got a free room upgrade
room furniture needs an upgrade to deserve 4 stars & it is not value for money, we paid a lot
2.5
pros:
nice view of sea.
good room service for cleaning regularly.
clean.
comfortable bed.
AC works well.
champagne provided.
local amenities and restaurants in walking distance and good bus line to main bus station for chania town.
hill climb to the room, breakfast area, pool and main reception area are not mentioned in the description. not suitable for people with mobility issues as it is very steep, tiring for even healthy people. if I knew I wouldn’t have booked Theo
hotel.
old facilities, basic and dull compared to main reception area. the only nice thing was the view. room itself is not impressive.
bathroom light is not bright enough.
small TV
no coffees or teas
not sound proof, can hear neighbours.
reception staff initially were not helpful regarding excursions, told us to find out for ourselves elsewhere. but later on our last day a different member of staff was helpful/too late.
Showers had cool/cold water no hot water and on our last day was just cold

The staff at the Theo Hotel were very pleasant and helpful.
3.5
It looked as though it has recently been refurbished. The food was what you expect from a continental hotel
Our room was dowdy. It needs refreshing and brightening up. Who puts a shower head 3 feet up the wall when we are considerably taller! Surely on ommission; no wine glasses in the room, after all it was a self-contained facility.

Great location and beautiful view. The staff was very professional, warm and friendly. Our special thanks to Edison and Sofia.
3.5
Good breakfast, amazing venue, good service, good pool area.
Old and noisy beds, rooms need updating. Almost every night fireworks (next hotel). Lots of stray cats fighting and hotel cat had kittens (and mother was on the heat again!! )
3.0
Breakfast is alright. Big selection. Pool area looks alright, although in May we were unlucky with the weather.
The rooms feel quite dated. Very uncomfortable, hard bed.
3.5
Views of the sea and mountains. Calm environment.
Breakfast.
4.5
The pool was amazing! It was very quiet when we went so we had it to ourselves for most of the time!
Breakfast could have been better. But it did the job!
4.0
The room was great, the bed was perfect. The toilet had the small pressure of water so it was a bit problem sometimes, but we have found the way :-)
The hotel is on the small hill so walking back to the hotel was a bit challenge, but I think this would be problem only for old people. The staff was very nice.
The breakfast should improve. The coffee was really terrible (the worst compared to other hotels where we have been on Crete). Also there was no fresh juice as in other places.

Catering staff were very welcoming and friendly
Charge for a beach towel of 5 euro plus a security deposit was not appreciated

The hotel was very good. You get what you paid for. The view was amazing and the location is very close to everything!
BUT, the staff were EXCEPTIONALLY nice, friendly and helpful! I have never experienced such hospitality and such a helpful staff. Adam who works in the reception made our lives so much easier. Thanks to all of you :)
4.5
Nice breakfast.
Confortable big double bed.
You have parking inside the hotel for the car.
You can walk from the hotel to several restaurants or parts of the village.
The air conditioner location, it is just in front of the bed .. when is on you get frozen!
1.5
The staff are extremely professional and friendly but not flexible at all.
Noisy (constant noise from crickets)
Hairs in the shower cubicle and leaking sink in bathroom (which was fixed)
Extremely dated, rather small room. The layout is abysmal. Plug point on only one side of the bed. Including cheap furniture, a random kitchen station and yellowing mid size (not mini), fridge.
Average size bathroom, again including another yellowing shower cubicle. Once the bathroom window is closed (at night due to the noise from the crickets), it's impossible to open the window again without help from housekeeping/reception.
The bath towels provided are on the small side and just about cover the body.
Checkout is at 11am which is a little early.
The wi-fi connection is intermittent.
The portable AC units in the hotel lobby are constantly switched off which in 30+ degree heat makes for an uncomfortable seating area.

Our room was large and very clean with a beautiful patio area. It was equipped with a small stove and basic kitchen equipment. Soap and sponge are available for free at the front desk. There is a THEO market right across the street for food, water , miscellaneous things. Location was excellent near lots of restaurants and shops. Parking available. The Food was fresh and good. The pool was perfect and very clean. Traveled with 3 adults , an infant and a toddler. Crib available. Staff was very friendly and the cleaning staff always did an amazing job. We will be staying again.

Disappointing... It's clearly not a 4 star hotel. They gave me a room on a - 2 level. It was very dark and there was an intense moldy smell. The bathroom needed an upgrade. Toilet seat, as shown in the picture, was placed almost over the shower cabin with no room to place oneself. Not comfortable at all! Besides, the toilet cover was broken. The telephone set was also not working. I asked for a technician intervention but it didn't happen during my 5 day stay... It may seem a small detail, but if you take into account the steep ramp to reach the reception, it becomes a significant question for your legs...
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, cleaning services were reduced, which is understandable. Nevertheless, they were available if requested. Unfortunately, when I requested this service the moldy smell persisted and they didn't replaced the amenities in the bathroom. I had to climb again the steep ramp just to ask for shampoo and shower gel because the telephone was not working...
I wish the hotel was as concerned with COVID-19 safety measures within the restaurant as it was with the cleaning services. I initially booked an half board meal plan. However, the dining room was extremely crowded, tables were placed without adequate distancing, waiters were wearing masks in their necks with their mouth and nose uncovered and dining period was too short for the amount of guests (only 2 hours) which promoted crowding. Besides, the guests were not wearing mask when they went to the buffet to take food and the staff of the hotel was permissive about this. I complained about this non compliance of safety measures and Greek law but the hotel staff didn't seemed very concerned about it. I decided to ask for a refund for the dinner meal and have dinner elsewhere and the hotel did so.
Finally, check-in and check-out procedures were very slow and the staff seemed very unprepared. A simple receipt issuing was an herculean task...

Loved the pool and outdoor areas, very well kept and plenty of space. The pool was perfect temperature for an escape from the sun. It was fairly quiet which was good. The eating areas all lovely and very clean. Balcony with sea view was beautiful, defo with paying the extra for it as looking at other people’s balcony, we would have not liked some of them. . Beds very comfy and Staff very friendly. The pool area and outside was definitely the best bit.
Location was good, 15 mins on a bus to chania centre and only couple of euros. Was far enough out to not be constantly in the crowds.
Get buses to places.. much cheaper than taxis who tend to add a good few euros on.
The food wasn’t great so ate out as much as possible. Balcony could have been set up nicer as so much space and nothing on it.
The bathroom was very basic and tatty for a 4 star hotel, it had a few repairs needing doing and had no air flow so it wasn’t a nice experience having bath or shower.
The worst bit was the air conditioning unit…. Just one small one in the corner of bedroom and that somehow needed to cover 3 rooms. It was 40 degree heat through the day and 30 at night. One unit was not hugely helpful.
As it was covid, we did not get room change (our choice). We had supplies of our own l, however; there is kitchen pots etc but there is not any cloths or towels to clean up - the pots were not very clean either.
