Exceptionally clean, convenient location and free parking. Checkin was straightforward and the site was secure.

When we initially booked, we tried to cancel and the property outright refused. If you try and call the helpline, you get put through to a directory that offers no help. Beware that when booking! The on-site facilities are a bit small and need expanding. We could never get in the pool as it was always really full and the arcade area always had teens and kids in it, so we could never use the bowling machine or snooker table. I’d also say the on-site shop is very limited. I have coeliac disease and there was very little that was gf. You really need a Freeform corner for dietary issues.

Loverly Easy check in Linda at Reception was very helpful and friendly Matt friendly waiter entertained our children couldn’t do enough for us Food really good

Sauna ,steam room ,spa were all good ,although we couldn’t book the spa services in advance .

We had slight confusion while checking in as the room we booked in was given to different people out of some confusion ,but they sorted out that with out taking much time .What we would have expected was a short walkthrough regarding the facilities as we missed to book in some of the activities in the pool area which our kid was looking forward .Also the stay didn’t provide any toiletries except soap .We haven’t seen any stays of this standard with out basic toiletries such as shampoo or body wash .

The lodge was spacious and had plenty of storage. It was well placed for reception and the other facilities. It was in lovely quiet setting with good views of the hills and plenty of walks in the surrounding countryside. The bus stop outside takes you in the direction of Wells (ideal for the gorge) or the coast at Weston. We didn't eat in the bistro so cannot comment on that.

The swimming pool , sauna and steam were good but the opening hours were restrictive particularly when we informed that they would be further reduced due to a shortage of chlorine. The bar closes at 9pm which might not suit some but was fine by us, we don't like resorts which are too lively late at night.

Location was superb. Very quiet. Convenient for Cheddar town, the gorge and very close to other locations. The Bistro produced some lovely meals.

The weather, which we cannot unfortunately predict. Could have been less windy.

to close to neighbours no privacy

Amazing stay. Perfect for unwinding. I honestly could have done with another week. Well worth paying the extra for a lodge with a hot tub. All in all a brilliant getaway.

Shame about the time slots for swimming. Would have been better if we could have used the pool facilities as and when we wanted.

Location was great for things we wanted to do/see. Park and holiday home was very clean. Staff were all great.

Having to leave before 9am spoils a good break. 10am would be far more reasonable.

I'd read several bad reviews about Cheddar Woods so had some reservations about booking. However my fears were completely unfounded. First impressions upon driving in though the reception area were very pleasing. The grounds are very well kept with a nice layout. The reception & communal areas are spotless, bright, airy & spacious. The restaurant & bar area's are more than adequate with a good menu selection. The toilets were also spotless. The whole establishment has a very modern fresh feel about it. The staff were excellent throughout our weeks stay. We had a Mendip Premier 2 lodge which was spotless & contained everything you could possibly need. Good size raised decking with patio furniture & sunken hot tub. The water quality was tested by the staff daily. Plenty of space between the lodges & room to park next to it. The park was reasonably busy but not noisy at all. Everyone seemed to respect the park rules so there were no late night noisy parties during our stay.

Only slight issue for us was the double bed was a bit small, comfortable none the less though. We had to report finding ants in the kitchen. These were promptly treated while we were out during the day & we didn't see them again until the day we checked out so had to report it again. One of the showers was too hot & could not adjusted. The shower in the second bathroom had a leaky shower screen which meant the floor got a bit wet. Neither of these were able to be resolved during our stay. Not a show stopper but hopefully will be resolved for the next guests.

The accomadation was great ,clean and comfortable .

The facilities were poor the pool was cold and felt dirty as the bottom of the pool looked grubby .

Sparkingly clean and I’m not easy to please when it comes to cleaning. The lodge has anything you’re going to need, no cheap stuff but good quality pans, utensils etc. amazing location to explore the natural beauty of the area. Hot tub was an excellent feature. Very tasty food at the restaurant! Really can’t get why would anyone make a negative comment for this place. Read comments like “pool closes early at 5” etc - so what? Just get there on time!

The caravan was nice and modern. Location is good and central.

Matresses seem old and uncomfortable. And no welcome pack with information like how to use the heating or appliances.

Close to Cheddar and other places to visit

One bedroom smelled strongly of smoke and was unusable
