Le lit

The location is great as it is facing onto the grounds of the complex, and the grounds are in the oceanfront. The garden area is lovely. I loved being able to step out there from the kitchen door to hear the waves at night and watch the roosters in the morning.

Parking was convenient as it is next to the building, but it was also pretty full and we were lucky to get a spot on the evening we arrived. On the second night we got back late and the lot was full so we had to park in the lot which is for the hotel and the hotel bar. We had to explain to the security guards that we would keep checking and move our car as soon as we could. Mind you, they were nice about it, and it was just a minor inconvenience.

Nice big room on ground floor so could open the door onto the lawn and walk down to the little beach for a lovely swim. The host communicated the lock box code about 24 hrs before arrival (earlier would have been better as I was traveling and had limited wifi access). Comfortable huge bed, good wifi, very clean. Long walk to a supermarket but then I was able to cook my dinner & breakfast in the basic kitchen/dining area. Key back in lock box when I left--easy!

I was only overnighting in Guadeloupe because of the flight schedule--I didn't see much because the Residence was far from the town and I was only there for 36 hrs. It cost 30 euros taxi to get from the airport then nearly 40 to get back at 5AM. I didn't have a local SIM so I went to the associated Auberge (nice hotel) and asked them to call me a taxi--almost no English and very reluctant as I wasn't staying at the Auberge but eventually they did call. The room was expensive as is everything on the island.
