Our favorite hotel in Nozawa, stayed there 3 times already. It's a little further from the center, but staff is really helpful and ready to give you a lift, plus there's a ski shuttle stop just outside of the hotel. Comfortable western style rooms with private bathroom, good value for the price compared to the other places in the area. Tasty hot breakfast is included in the price as well. Will definitely come again!

Staff, location, atmosphere, …

Parking was tight, but staff did their best to accommodate everyone.

It was more than we expected. Staff was super friendly and helpful and all of them were English speaking foreigners from the reception to the kitchen staff. receptionist was very helpful with all the necessary guidance from skiing to walk around the town suggesting good hot springs to checkout and where to eat. hotel offers free shuttle service and they will take you anywhere you want to go within the town. also this hotel situated very close to one of the chair lifts which takes you to the Nozawa main gondola and quite few ski gear rental places are nearby. I strongly recommend this place for any foreigners who want to explore Nozawa Onsen Village.

Food was not the best, but the price/portions are definitely worth it. Staff is amazing, always willing to help and share some great advice. Would totally recommend it and will be back for sure.

The french chef was amazing for the breakfast. Navette service was so nice. Personnel amazing.

Altitude Nozawa is your average Nagano ski resort hotel with all the essentials intact. what has made our stay utterly enjoyable was the company of hotel staff. Our sincere gratitude to Jack, Kleber and Nobu san who went out of their ways to help us sort out the ski gear, picking us up and dropping us off to the slopes, bus terminals and restaurant outings. Paul, upon sudden notice of my diet, made me a mushroom omelette for breakfast, it was absolutely delicious. Such a lovely team, undoubtedly due to the leadership skills of Jack.

My 14 year old son is 1.78m tall. His feet extended further beyond the realm of his single bed. 😂

It was a bit nostalgic for me, smelling food being cooked reminded me of when I’d wake in the morning and my parents were cooking. The aroma of breakfast and dinner made me want to get out the bed and see what it was. Hot breakfast cooked by Jack was available, along with many cereal options, pastries, juices, and a toaster to self service. Fresh coffee which always makes my day! Breakfast was superb. Something different every morning and if I didn’t care for it, Jack offered to make me another option, which is very hospitable. There was also shuttle service to pick you up from bus station and to bring you to the Nagasaka Gondola. The drying/storage room for snowboarding/skiing gear was definitely a great option and it was great that each locker was designated for your room number. Overall, my stay was very excellent and the hosts are quite knowledgeable about the area. Will definitely stay there again.

The laundry facilities, specifically the dryer took 2 hours to dry clothes and some things were still wet after the fact. This sort of hindered time management for dinner. So maybe, get the dryer looked at and have some maintenance done. The housekeeper didn’t clean the room and provide new towels, which I thought was a bit strange. And only provided with one large towel, but no wash cloth.

Altitude Nozawa is a fantastic facility. The Drying room is large with lockers for individual rooms and easy access inside and out of the hotel. The staff was amazing, helping with rides, meal suggestions and great conversation. The breakfast was amazing and got our group in the right mood for a day of chest deep powder.

The only issue with the hotel was that smokers were allowed to smoke just outside the main entrance to the lobby and if anyone was outside smoking, the smell was unavoidable. The beds were not particularly comfortable and we could have used a couple extra pillows but these are, overall minor issues; especially for the price.

The staffs were super helpful, they took us everywhere during our stay. Great location (next to the lift/bus to gondola). The breakfast was delicious too.

Common areas of the hotel were a little cold.

Location was perfect - a short walk from one of the ski lifts and the bus stop is right outside if you need to get to the gondola area. The rooms was lovely and warm. Beds comfy and breakfast was nice. My daughter is vegetarian, and they were able to provide an alternative to the daily special.
