Staff serving breakfast is inhospitable and clueless. The regimented approach and stinginess to guests made us uncomfortable. The room is tiny the ceiling barely taller than my head. The window cannot be open and no air could come into the room causing lack of oxygen and headache. The walls are paper thin and one hears every shuffle outside every whisper…I was bitten by bugs in the room. No tea coffee facilities. No staff most of the time so if guests have any problem or any need too bad ! Overall bad value for money

Puerta del lago was a very comfortable stay. The hotel is located 10 minutes away from downtown (if walking you'll go up a slope, nothing terrible but might be a problem for elderly) and located in a very quiet area, despite being super close to everything. The staff was very helpful and the breakfast was complete, with service to the table in a very efficient fashion. The rooms and bed were comfy.

The lack of proper ventilation or AC. If you get the upper rooms in a hot summer day, the room will be extremely hot! There was a fan in one of the rooms we booked but not the other, and despite that a single fan wasn't enough to cool us.

i stayed for 4 nights. the room was well renovated and pretty, but the room was dark, on the ground floor near the reception counter, and I could hear everything… next door, upstairs and ppl check-in and -out. also the room was facing to the hotel’s working area with a washing machine and a storage, and cleaning ladies were in and out at the back, and I couldn’t open the windows/curtains even though the room was dark. the bathroom was smelly. they tried to fix it, but the smell came back after a day…I think the pipe has an issue. i was told there are two choices to settle my a/c: with credit card with Chilean pesos, 19% tax is added or cash in USD without 19%. As a foreign traveler, I think 19% shouldn’t be added with a card settlement.

Great hotel, comfy and calm with a good location as it is only 7min walking distance from the city center with an amazing view on the Osorno Volcano on the way down the hill. The room was big enough with a closet and a huge bed, very confy. And enough blankets for the colds nights. Good bathroom. The breakfast was amazing, more than enough food, fresh fruits, kuchen, eggs and ham every day! And the staff is super friendly and helpful! They were very patient with my broken Spanish and I felt at home for my long stay there.

Welcoming hostel, good location, quiet street, friendly manager. Delicious, generous breakast included. Best (!!) hot water & pressure shower we've had in all of Chile!

The hotel has a great location in a quiet neighbourhood, yet only a short walk from the centre of Puerto Varas. Marcela was very friendly and welcoming. My room was clean and the bed was comfy. The breakfast was superb!

If you have a room to the street, be aware that the school opposite has car-door slamming in the morning with everyone bringing their kids to school. Also, I could hear every single sound in the entire house at night - and there were a lot

It was not possible to pay the rent in foreign currency by credit card ( without IVA ). We had to go to a money exchange. Otherwise we had to accept the rent including IVA.

I feel like the hotel rooms are quite overpriced for what you get. The internet in the rooms is slow/none exiting, the water and heating was cold/off and after complaining it took about two ours for warm water to come.

Host could educate herself about the bars and venues.

The lady at the front desk was friendly and helpful. Closed to the lake and city centre. I didn't have breakfast but it is cool that it is included. It was clean and quite.

A bit small our room and the breakfast was ok

Outstanding service. Cozy and warm. My had no desk for work (and I let them know)... in five minutes my brand new desk was settled allowing me to work breakfast even better. They knowing I’m diabetic prepare and serve a special no-sugar deli breakfast.
