A quiet and small place located near ocean, although building outside is old style but room renovated modern. Room has good view, you could see the sunrise too. Food is excellent, firstly was afraid breakfast would be the same as I stayed 2 nights, but found out was diffident and delicious. Hotel provided shuttle pick up from station. Staff is so nice. It was really a relaxed trip.

I loved everything about my room, the bed was amazing, the bathroom was super nice and clean, and the private bath was SO GREAT. There were huge windows in the room looking out to the forests and ocean, and the birdsong was so amazing. I paid extra for dinner and breakfast and that was an excellent decision, it was some of the best food I've ever had. I felt so pampered while I was there and the staff was not only very gracious, they also told me about local events in the area I could visit and shuttled me to and from the train station.
I was on the 4th floor and as it was an older building, there was no elevator. The staff took up my luggage without having to ask, but it was still a lot of stairs for me. Also, and this isn't really a complaint because I didn't actually mind, but despite it being "Isaribi (No Children)", there WERE children?? I think they should change their title...?

Incredible view from our 2nd floor room of the ocean! The Kaiseki dinner and the breakfast was some of the best food we had in multiple weeks in Japan and was served in our room, delicious across the board. Loved having a private soaking tub in our own bathroom! Also with amazing open-air windows with ocean view. Staff were so incredibly friendly and accommodating. Got picked up from train station. Excellent communication on Booking. l. Of note, Booking did not let us initially choose a room with meals, and so the ryokan reached out to us personally to ask so we could add on meals! also there was someone with nut allergy in our group, and they were very accommodating of that for the meals.
The bathroom vanity and faucets are a bit dated, but this is pretty minor and our stay was outstanding still.

Friendly staff! We were spoiled throughout our stay.

Great meal, offered lots of food. The private hot spring feels good. Friendly staff and spacious room.
4.7
Great dinner and breakfast, and super accommodating and kind to allergies. An amazing room, and the beds were so comfortable. They had a great system for checking if the “rentable” larger baths were available and they were amazing and super clean. All the staff were super friendly as well.

Out of the way resort, relexing, quiet environment.
Dinner mainly related to fish dishes which may be not suit all guest.

comfortable bed, quiet, very substantial meals.
relatively isolated. not too much to do w/o a car

clean, beautiful, service is really great. More privacy than other hotel. You can just locked the door after you go inside to the 風呂 you dont have to share with anyone else.
not including dinner and breakfast. The location of the hotel is really bad. There is only one convenience store near the hotel and its quite hard to find. I asked about dinner price after I booked the hotel. They said it needed to be 9000 yen. I think it quite expensive so I looked around the location but theres no restaurant surrounding the hotel. So I checked with the hotel again and this time they said it needed to be 11000 yen. It confused me why the price of the dinner is so expensive and variable? So the end I didnt choose to dine in. The 風呂 open so late. Like 1500 - 2200 as I remember. The location is really bad cause I have to wait for the train for an hour to get here. I think I wouldnt go Izu again. Such a waste of time of waiting transportation. But the view of Izu was good tho.

One in a lifetime experience. I wasn't expecting the quality and type of service that we received. The service from the staff was excellent and the facility was amazing. Everything was clean and the ambience/scenery was amazing.

The private baths in the room and the facility were excellent. The private bath comes with hot and cold water knobs (that adjust the flow into the rock waterfall into the bath) and a stirring paddle you can use to tune the bath to your exact desired temperature. During the pandemic, the facility has shifted to a first-come, first-serve reservation for the large public baths. It was an unexpected boon of my stay. There are two large baths that your party can use, no matter which room you stay at. They both include outdoor areas that are very nice. All the meals were very delicious. The room was modern, relatively large, with a very comfortable king sized bed.
It was not immediately apparent when booking that not all rooms have breakfast/dinner served to the room - if you do not, you will eat in a joint dining room (with privacy shutters between parties). The food was excellent, but be prepared to leave the room to eat, and pay a corking fee if you decide to bring any of your own alcohol to consume during dinner.
Not all rooms have an ocean view from the bath. Technically the ocean is visible from the patio.

decor, room rotenburo and other hot spring was good

Beautiful property, huge room, extremely comfortable bed, fantastic private baths, exquisite food and friendly, warm and kind staff with excellent English.
If the curtains could have been black-out, this place would have been perfect!!

This Ryokan is a subtle fusion between Japanese and modern style. the decoration of the whole venue is breath taking. beds are confortable, the view is stunning, the food incredibly high quality and abondant. The service is worthy of grand luxury hotels and the staff is simply amazing and welcoming. English language is spoken by some of the staff and if you need any arrangement for a special date or occasion, they have plenty of options (flower bouquets, personalized birthday cake…)
I have been to a bunch of Ryokans and onsens but Isabiri is at a higher level.
note that the last 100 meters to the venue is tricky if you have a big car or a van. but this absolutely not a bad point or an issue.

The service was superb starting from we checked in. Matsui-san did an excellent job. He gave us an idea where go around places in Shizuoka. This is not his job but he made us so feel at home. We had a memorable weekend there.

The room was amazing, especially the in-room onsen which is MUCH bigger than other typical in-room onsens. Also the dinner/breakfast was extremely good and they used high quality ingredients. The larger outdoor onsen (reservable one) was amazing as well.
The building is definitely older, and although the rooms have been upgraded/updated the hallways/corridors have not, the carpets and decor in those areas need to be replaced. Also although the service was good, it was not as good as I expected given the price paid for the room, I would say it was polite, but not overly friendly or warm, almost to the point of being cold and businesslike. The person showing us to our room needed a note card to remember what to tell us, and they forgot basic things like informing us of check out time, and the wifi password. We have stayed at similarly priced ryokans before, and so we felt the overall value for this place did not live up to expectations.

The private outdoor bathroom in our room was really beautiful and relaxing, it did not make us want to go to the public onsen. Which btw, it’s actually a private onsen on a first come basis. Really great set up of you ask me. Two beautiful intimate onsen overlooking the sea with a calm atmosphere in design.
The staff was really nice, professional, and spoke multiple languages (Spanish, English, Japanese).
The food was also very delicious and they were able to accommodate our requests. They also provided us with the option of wéstern breakfast which was yummy!
The tv in the bedroom was not located in a friendly place. We had to sleep horizontally to be able to watch tv from the bed. This is our only problem which was not a big deal given the king size bed which was very comfortable. This place is magnificent.

Unobstructed view of the sea, room was spacious and comfortable with a long size western bed. We were greeted warmly by staff member that spoke very good English.
The mountain road to the property was. Little intimidating for a medium size vehicle.
