We loved staying at the Butler Manor Carriage House! It was so different to our usual modern rental homes. It had so much old world charm and details in all the furnishing and decor, yet all the conveniences that we require for our family. Kathy was very responsive, and when we had a question about the TV, she sent Shane over right away to sort it out for us. It was an additional bonus that they had a jacuzzi in the yard and even provided robes to keep us warm while we got there! I would definitely recommend this guest house!

This is the first time that we rent an apartment with the bedroom setup at the attic. The main floor is a studio with fully equipped kitchen and a sofa bed. The laundry room is located in the garage downstairs.
Outside of the main floor, there is a balcony with great view of Salt Lake City. The apartment was decorated for the holidays making us feel like our own home. I even made a XMas card by taking a picture of the decorations.
Both Kathy the property manager and Jennifer the owner were very responsive and informative. The place is well maintained and clean. The beds are comfortable and cozy. The fireplace was very charming and useful. We cooked every dinner and entertained our guests.
We will be staying again when we are back in town.

The carriage house was so charming. Absolutely perfect for some quality R&R. Super clean, property manager was very responsive to our questions, zero complaints or issues! Highly recommend and would definitely book this place again. Thank you!

The property is exactly as listed. The reason I say it’s great for a short stay is that it’s definitely crowded for four adults, but we expected that going into it. The couch bed is a back killer. But - it’s a couch bed.
There were issues with their new hot water heater during our stay. It would frequently go out and we’d have no hot water. The property manager was VERY quick to help, and when it was out of her hands, she would immediately arrange for a plumber to come ASAP. But it started happening everyday. She felt awful. They acknowledged the inconvenience and offered a substantial partial refund without us having to ask. It honestly could not have been handled better!
Hot water hiccup aside, it’s a great place!

Just as pictured. VERY clean (there wasn’t even dust behind the couch or furniture). Beautiful views. Good beds. Clean hot tub.
We flew in from WI for a long weekend ski trip and to visit family in SLC. Great location for ski resorts. Used the ski rental shop near-we walked there it’s that close. Two adults for the weekend and my brother stayed one night on the pull out bed.
Will be my first choice for the next SKC trip.

My son and I spent 4 nights at this amazing property for a Thanksgiving holiday. A beautiful home located right on the edge of Butler’s Bench overlooking the entire Salt Lake valley. Walk through double French doors onto a deck that provides stunning views of the valley, Salt Lake City and surrounding mountains.
This is one of the most well appointed home’s I’ve ever stayed in, including a fully equipped kitchen, stylish antique furniture, and a gas stove.
It’s 20 minutes from the airport, downtown, University, and ski resorts.
I’ll be a repeat guest here.

Great stay
I absolutely loved my stay here. My dog also, loved the big yard and the owners dogs that he got to play with. I’m going to miss staying at this beautiful place. The owners and staff were so kind and pleasant to talk to. Thanks for a wonderful experience. Laura

Amazing stay at the Butler Manor!
We had such an amazing time staying at the Butler Manor! Warm and cozy, close to the slopes with mountain views, lots of privacy. I would absolutely recommend this property to anyone staying in the area.

Cozy
Very convenient with Whole Foods and state liquor store being a block away and 20 minutes to Alta. On a main road but only heard noice a bit in morning and happy kids from elementary school on other side of rental. Well appointed and equipped. So cozy. Just used the pull out couch and it was fine. Will go back again. Ask for non perfumed laundry soap.

Great location.
We hiked in several of the canyons outside Salt Lake City which were easily accessible from the apartment. Steps to bed in loft are unique but very doable!

Nicely appointed garage apartment
Beautiful view, convenient location and helpful owner and manager. We took a break from our travel trailer to stay here for a week. The property manager helped with our trailer storage as the driveway is too narrow and steep to negotiate with a trailer. Only issue was the stairway to the loft which was a ladder.

Tranquil and Peaceful
Jennifer and her staff made me feel right at home. The grounds were like I just stepped into a European garden! I loved all the flowers and the main house is spectacular. The loft is above a 3 car garage separate from the main manor. It was so beautiful and the views were breathtaking. It was a Staycation for me and my doodle. My dog Ginger loved playing with Jennifer’s (host) dog Sheba. It was a perfect getaway just for fun! I didn’t want to leave. You won’t be disappointed in the quaint loft that is so so cozy and comfortable. It’s 5 minutes to grocery stores, banks, Starbucks, restaurants and the I-215 freeway. Perfect setting and immaculate grounds. Jennifer is such a sweetheart too. Always available and if she was busy, her son Shane was there to answer any questions too. I definitely give them a 5 Star score. I’d actually have to say they are above 5 Stars. Visit the Manor and you will agree!!!

Convenient location
Jennifer, husband Michael and adult son Shane were awesome. Very helpful with information about the area and generous with anything that was needed for the rental from the main house. Great communication. Highly recommend the hosts and the location. As other reviewers have mentioned there is a steep narrow attic fold down type staircase where the bedroom is located which may difficult for some renters to access. The bathroom is downstairs adjacent to the kitchen. The cleanliness rating was low though not the fault of the owners. The previous occupant checked out late, we were on time and the cleaning staff may have been pressured to be expeditious. We would definitely this location again.

Perfect Getaway
Three of us fit comfortable and happy in this cozy mountain loft overlooking the Salt Lake Valley. We had everything we needed and the owner/manager were incredibly accommodating. Cant wait to return!

All the Right Stuff :)
This property and my experience were nearly perfect in every way. The location is absolutely fantastic between all the major ski resorts. There are a ton of great restaurants, coffee shops and grocery stores within walking distance, or a short drive. The property is really cool and sits atop a hill, so there is a great view of the valley (& really a 360 view). The owner and the property manager were extremely kind, very helpful and super responsive. What I've mentioned is the tip of the iceberg, and it's clear that the Butler Manor House has all the right ingredients. I look forward to staying here again soon.

Great stay at Butler Manor
My wife and son had a fabulous stay at Butler Manor. The place is a spacious loft with a sweeping view of the city and mountains. It is very close to the entrance to Little Cottonwood Canyon and the slopes of Alta and Snowbird, but also very near shopping in Cottonwood Heights. Jennifer the owner is super accommodating and friendly, making sure that we were well and happily accommodated, and ready with advice on the area including getting to and from ski slopes (given all the travel advisories that can occur on snow days in the canyons). We loved the loft, it's location, and will return and recommend it to anyone visiting the area. Great place!

Perfect location, great loft, great views
Spent 2 weeks here in August. The location is perfect if you want to run in cottonwood canyon like me. The loft was so beautiful, clean, quiet and Jennifer was so nice. I love view from deck. Can’t wait to book my next visit!!!

Cute getaway
We loved staying here. The Loft is well-furnished and comfortable, and the owner/family were very friendly the couple of times we bumped into them. The only downside was that they couldn't get the gas fireplace going for us, but it wasn't a big deal to us.

Great father son ski trip, this place was very accessible. It was an easy drive from the airport, 25 minuets from the mountain, and easy access to the bus stop. I would definitely recommend this place for a nice get-away.

Grate property at the grate location
Friendly host, very well equipped condo at the grate location to ski. 2-3 min drive to food stores and restaurants. I'd give this place 5 stars.

Very well equipped carriage house; enough paper towels, toilet paper, bath towels, etc. Joanne was very responsive when we ran out of garbage bags; had a whole new box within 1/2 hr. I would highly recommend this house, as long as you realize there are stairs going up to the upper part of the garage (the carriage house) and the stairs inside there going to the bedroom are a pull down and pretty steep and narrow. Couch pull out is very comfortable :). Very close to the ski resorts; great place!

Cozy, clean, easy access to all attractions
Property is beautiful, plenty of room, very clean, and has everything you need for extended stay. Spent a week skiing with my wife and Great Dane...Both had a blast...owners were awesome hosts...two estate dogs really friendly and our pup loved playing with them. Really having nothing bad to say. Location is great jumping off point for all the area attractions. Thank you Jennifer and Michael we will definitely be back next year!

Quiet loft near the big and little canyon resorts
The property is really great. The architecture and interior design is amazing. Note, the word "loft" in the description. The bed is by itself up a folding ladder. Not for the faint of heart. For the rest of us, its awesome... Shane and Jennifer were great. The dogs fun to meet. The hot tub is perfect for a couple.

Very happy with the rental.
The apartment was well equipped and not lacking anything. Comfortable, views, quiet and spacious. A great location for skiing multiple Utah resorts with easy access to downtown. Good services and amenities in the immediate area.
As presented by the owners, the access to the sleeping area is up a ladder stairs. It was not an issue for us, but some renters may find this to be not ideal.

My son and I met at Butler Manor to do three days of skiing at Alta and Snowbird. The location was perfect, being only about 15 minutes from the areas. (Assuming the canyon is open!🤗�) It is a beautiful spot overlooking Salt Lake with gorgeous views of the Wasatch range. Everything at the Manor was exactly as advertised and simply amazing. It is a perfect spot for 2-4 people, as long as a couple of people don’t have any trouble climbing a short ladder to the loft! The furnishings are quite beautiful, and if you want TV, it appears you can get any channel on the planet! Everyone we dealt with was very helpful and friendly. As the owners made very clear, the driveway is steep, and it can be a bit tricky making a right turn into it. All in all, all I can say is that it was a wonderful experience, and we will be staying at Butler Manor in the future! Thank you for everything.
