Was my first time back to Bali in 13 years and pondok ayu was the best place to come back and rest in would definitely come back and recommend to family to stay

The owner occupies a room there and has claimed half the pool, put strangely placed plants in pots all around the pool so it looks very messy. She was always calling staff to attention whilst you’re trying to relax around the pool and spying from her net curtains. Very invasive and very weird

Excellent facilities, comfortable bed, huge room and closet. Had a kitchen which was handy for tea making. Huge bottle of drinking water. Staff excellent, the entire property was spotless, lovely breakfasts.

Nice and clean room. Very friendly staff. Just a 15 minutes walk from the beach, market and restaurants. Swimming pool in the beautiful garden is very nice. You could stay here longer. The room is big enough and facilities are great. Much storage, good bathroom

I had an incredible and wonderful stay in Bali for the first time. The dedication and impeccable service of the staffs, the very beautiful house and garden with many flowers, the clean swimming pool, the bright and well-maintained large room, everything was perfect! Mrs.Sari, Mady, Kady, Ayu, I miss you!

nothing. Yes it’s tucked away from main area, as some would say the wrong side of the bypass, but easy to get taxis costing $1-3 to beach or Main Street. This is what makes it so peaceful.

Have stayed at Pondok Ayu before and will stay there again. Very comfortable, lots of hot water, pool with nice surrounding but most of all everybody who works there are wonderful.

Nothing. some people have commented on the walk to the beach. It only takes about 10 minutes to nearest beach. I also used the Gojek car service on their App which I found very efficient and from a UK perspective ridiculously cheap.

Pondok Ayu is a 20 minute walk from Sanur centre but taxis are plentiful and very cheap

I loved Pondok Ayu! It's great that they provided a taxi pick up as well and the driver Made was very nice and friendly. The room is spacious and clean, it has got a bathtub which was a nice addition. The location is not too far from the main road and restaurants in walking distance but yet tucked away nicely so that it's quiet without the traffic noise.

The only thing that could be better is the curtains in the room. It's such a comfortable room, it would help to have blackout curtains or at least thicker curtains to keep the light away in the morning.

Lovely small guesthouse, with small swimmingpool and super friendly people working there. This is what we are looking for in Bali. Thanks for the hospetallity.

I loved that driver picked us up at the airport and helped with the luggages. Everything was so smooth and easy for us. Breakfast was good and they are so nice with children. Pool was clean and there was oppurtunity to take a good massage next to it. Really loved staying there.

Perfect place to stay in Sanur, with friendly owners and staff, a relaxed atmosphere and a cosy room that exceeded our expectations.

Pondok has a changed of management. The new owner who runs the place. I have observed how she treats the staff. the new owner treats the staff as servants. The previous owner looks after her staff very well. Treated them very well. I made an appointment to have a massage and the owner then asked the masseur to massage her own daughter first and asked that I wait. I’m the hotel guest here.

Comfortable and quiet residential location set in a compact attractive garden. Felt like staying in a Balinese villa. enjoyed the casual wicker seating on the balcony. Pick up from the airport was appreciated. I agree with other reviews. Pondok Ayu offers a homely stay in Sanur.

this place feels like home for us. Very friendly people and a clean stay. Behind the walls it is beautiful and quiet. We would love to come back.

Let's address location straight up; Lonely Planet says 'do not stay west of Jl By Pass Ngurah Rai'...rubbish! Take LP's advice & you would miss the wonderful gem that is Pondok Ayu Yes, crossing the highway can be...er 'interesting' but it is by no means a deal breaker. Pondok Ayu is an oasis. It's in a quiet residential area but still an easy walk to all Sanur amenities. It is a beautiful property with large rooms (only 5 in total) & the staff are lovely; from Gede's smiling face at the airport to the breakfast & cleaning ladies. The pool area & garden is gorgeous. Breakfast was delicious & a wonderful start to your day. This place is a winner...highly recommended!

I had no hot water both mornings but with Bali heat, it wasn't an issue. I didn't even mention it to the staff...I'm sure if I had, it would have been rectified.
