This home boasts a picturesque location and ample space, ideal for group gatherings. We particularly enjoyed the bonus room upstairs for game nights. However, our experience was marred by property maintenance issues and problematic communication with the owner. Signs of water damage are evident on the ceilings and walls. Some outdoor benches and patio chairs are deteriorating, limiting seating options. The hot tub's overchlorination was a concern, and its water was unclean. We found dirty laundry and towels left inside. Alarmingly, a bunk bed collapsed during our stay. The owner's response lacked understanding and felt accusatory. Engaging with the owner presented challenges. He insisted on a separate rental agreement from VRBO, causing confusion and potential check-in delays. He was on the property longer than expected upon our arrival, and we were not provided keys for security. His interactions felt distrustful, aligning with previous reviews we'd read. It's evident he resides in the house between rentals, and personal items remain. There is still an expectation that guests clean linens despite a cleaning fee on the rental. There is also a damage deposit that I suspect won't be returned due to the state of the house itself. For small groups planning a brief stay in McCall, this location may suffice. However, for larger groups seeking a relaxing retreat, the property issues and the owner's demeanor might detract from the experience.

Beautiful place to stay. Had everything we wanted and needed. Enjoyed access to pool and tennis/pickleball courts.

Highly recommend. The house is beautiful, stocked with everything and anything you could imagine needing, very clean, it’s close to the lake and shopping. Beautiful scenery, quiet location. Communication was a 10 out of 10. We hope to definitely come back one day. Rent this house if you can!!

We truly enjoyed the place. Very spacious. Lots of sleeping choices. It was close to golf, town, and a walking path. Liked it SO much we booked for next year. The only issue we had was finding it. It’s difficult to see the number on the house because it’s behind trees.

Very nice home. Two master suites - one on the main level and one upstairs was an added bonus. There are two other bedrooms upstairs besides the master. One with a queen bed and the other has multiple beds in it. There is also a bonus room upstairs with couches. The home was very clean and had many amenities. Wifi is spotty. We could not get any stations on the T.V., but that may have been our fault.

Everything was in order, and clean. The layout of the house was perfect for our 6 person reunion. It’s quiet and situated nicely even though it’s more of a city neighborhood. We would stay again! The only downside is the requirement to launder towels and get them dried. That in and of it’s self isn’t a big deal but getting everyone showered packed and the towels in the washer by 9:00, with a larger group can be challenging.

We had such a great time at this wonderful place. Cant wait until next time!

Justin’s property was perfect for the family as our niece was getting married. The house was close to town but yet has a nice quiet atmosphere.

Very spacious and family oriented. Love the location close to town

Prior to our arrival but after payment the owner sent us an additional contract that differed significantly from the contract we had already signed through VRBO. This contact occurred through my personal email outside VRBO. He then withheld the door code until we sent him a copy of our drivers license, signed the additional contract, gave him personal addresses and contact information and called him directly. On calling we were informed that we would not have access to the fireplace. On arrival the home was not clean, the garbage cans were full, there were balloons, and toilet paper rolls on the ground. Following our stay the owner continued texting us. When I reported this to VRBO he proceeded to attempt to send us additional charges of greater than $150 because the towels in the dryer were not dry enough.

Very easy overall. The house was perfect for our multi family group, we were all comfortable. Close to town, well appointed.

Our annual winter trip to McCall to ski, snowboard and snowshoe. The whole family loves this house. Was our third time staying at the Drake House. Good location and owner is very good to work with.

Very clean and accommodating! Space for everyone! Would highly recommend this location! We have family properties in McCall where we usually stay but with many out of town family attending our nephews wedding we tried to find a place for our out of state children to be together! It was perfect!!! Thank you so much!!! Very gracious for a family to share their beautiful home with strangers!!!

The house is beautiful and conveniently located for pretty easy access to downtown, golf course, and the lake. My elderly parents were with me so the downstairs bedroom was ideal for them.

Beautiful home, close to the lake and activity options, fantastic for family get away and family get-togethers/reunions. Plenty of room for sleeping, two "master suites", great kitchen and central gathering area.

Juston was very quick to respond when needed, kind, courteous and has a beautiful home! Super easy to get to town but remote enough for wildlife to walk through the yard. We had the best time and felt right at home! We will keep this in mind for another vacation for sure

This property was perfect for a large family of all different ages. The location was perfect with lots of walking areas and just a short 5 minute drive to town. It had lots of privacy and all of the imenities needed. We would definitely rent again if we are ever in the area again.

Wonderful cabin comfortable and clean for our family

Drake Lodge is beautifully situated in a wooded lot that is conveniently close to town and yet still feels private. The home has wonderful amenities, including a private hot tub protected by a roof, which came in handy in the rainy weather. The open floor plan on the main floor was perfect for gathering for eating, games, TV, and kids' play. We enjoyed the second TV/play/movie room upstairs where other family members could get away from the main floor, watch shows and still have room for little kids to play toys up there too. The kitchen was well-stocked, won't need to bring my own crockpot next time.

We had an amazing time over the weekend at Drake Lodge. We come every year, and this is probably our favorite property so far. Definitely going to save this property to rent again. Plenty of room for my family.

This spot was perfect for all the various ages in our family. It was close to a grocery store, ski hills, and just so lovely and comfortable. Great kitchen so necessary for our teens! And the fireplace worked!!!!

Our group stayed at Drake lodge for a Christmas get away. It was the perfect layout with space for everyone, yet felt cozy and welcoming. Juston our host, checked in with us and was available to answer any questions we had. We would definitely recommend this property.
