There wasnt anything to not like

My room decor was to a very high standard - I was frankly amazed at the quality for a town pub, it was way above my expectations! The ensuite shower room was also to a high standard, and well cleaned. Generous selection of biscuits and drinks on the hospitality tray.

This is a very lively town pub and the loud music went on till around midnight (it was a Saturday, to be fair). Hence it was quite noisy in the room and wouldn't suit people wanting an early night. Breakfast.... oh dear! We arrived downstairs at the earliest possible time we had arranged when we checked in, to find our breakfast had already been served to another guest who hadn't paid for it! Furthermore, the sole member of staff on hand told us she had only enough provisions to cook that one breakfast and had nothing left for us! Eventually she managed to cobble together some cereals, coffee and some egg & bacon sandwiches and she was genuinely apologetic for the mistake. But a hotel shouldn't make an error like this, so I have to mark them down for it.

I had a lovely cooked breakfast which I hadn't realised was included. The staff went out of their way to satisfy me.

No complaints about the late noise as it was lively.

If they did evening food

The Red Lion is convinient for the centre of Cardigan and is a lively pub in the evening without being intrusive from the bar. The proprietor was friendly on arrival and gave me the key to one of the 4 rooms they have. There's very limited parking around the hotel and there is no on-site parking. I parked my car on the main car park by the swimming pool and it's only a 5 minutes easy walk and the fee was just over £3. All in all I'd recommend this hotel.

was arriving late and contacted the hotel direct to inform them of this and they were very helpful and waited around till I arrived (sorry 2am) i would highly recommend this hotel to anybody who is going to the area and I most definitely would book it again so Thankyou very much again for staying to wait for me to arrive

The staff were pleasant on arrival but there was nobody to be found when we left. We just left the keys on the bar but I would have liked to have spoken to someone. They gave us fresh milk when we asked for it and the rooms are a good size.

No pillow or mattress protectors. There was blood on a pillow. No social distancing in the pub and it was jam packed. I expected some noise but it was very loud(it didn't bother us as we were up late ourselves). Half the light bulbs needed replacing!! 3 out in each room.

The stay was ok, the staff was friendly, and the room was sparkling clean. Great breakfast btw.

We did not like the bed or at least half of it. The mattress was worn out, so it felt like we were sleeping on a slope. In conclusion not the best value for money.

The barman was really welcoming, the bar was a little off putting on entry but once there was good and the beer was excellent. Rooms were really good, comfortable bed, bathroom well appointed.

Due to a last minute change in the booking I was over charged and despite several attempts I have not been able to get my money back. I have e-mailed and had several phone calls, and apparent agreement that I have been overcharged, a promise to do a bank transfer then send a cheque have failed to materialise. This has overwhelmingly influenced my opinion of my stay which would otherwise have been positive.

Good -fine

1) The room was lovely, comfortable and clean with a very good shower. There was milk supplied in the fridge. 2) The location of the Red Lion is good, tucked away down a side street but still central. 3) Breakfast was good.

1) There was loud, pulsating music downstairs to midnight on the Saturday. I expected some noise as I was staying above a pub at a weekend. However, it was extremely loud and vibrating even in the room. After midnight, the music was turned down but there was still some general noise and music. 2) Unable to access the free internet from my room. There were three SSID networks depending upon which bedroom or downstairs. Downstairs worked. 3) I found the proprietor abrupt although the staff and locals were friendly.
