Good location, almost right next to the beach. Many shopping options next door - both SPAR and Intermarche. Multiple restaurants in the area. Clean, big apartament, nice TV, modern bathroom. Electric outlets in abundance, so no issue with phone charging. Fast WIFI.

The fact that check-in time is between 2 and 6 pm. My plane landed at 11 pm, so if I didn't ask someone else to collect the keys on my behalf, I wouldn't be able to sleep there.. despite paying. Coffee machine didn't work, as it needs to be descaled. No kettle, even though there was supposed to be one. Wardrobe had an old place smell.

Apartment is nice, big and central (at least for our staying)

The apartment is advertised with a sofa bed, however this is not the case. The sofa has not a mattress. The back cushion opens to form a "bed". however, as cushion are really soft, the long middle steel hinge is in the way making impossible to use the sofa as bed (see picture). We asked for a mattress, we got an inflatable one. However as our staying was 10 days long this was uncomfortable. Also we are no happy with the fact we had go through booking.com (we were using whatsapp) to get an answer about the bed. It took one day.

Location central for Playa du Roche. Center of tourist area.

We really needed written instructions for washing machine, stove, etc., as appliances different from US and we were being respectful and cautious. Also for where to deposit our garbage, and other expectations. We read what was on the Booking website, but when a host asks that you keep things clean but provides no cleaning supplies --- not even a bar of soap, or spray cleaner when COVID is still present, or 1-2 tablets for the washing machine? (Did provide a small bottle of dishwashing soap.) People who come in cars can pack up what they buy, but we flew. We left some basics (tea, coffee, sweetener, laundry cleaner, spray cleaner, etc.). but host expectations did not match supplies. Closet in bedroom was filled with a big vacuum cleaner. No welcoming space to unpack. Little to no space to store things and we stayed a week. Lived out of suitcases on the floor. Dining table and coffee table are clear glass -- sharp edges and dangerous if you have kids. We were provided one bath towel each for adults for a week stay. After first day we never had a dry towel. It could also be that we stayed a week just before this week in an identical apt. in the same building (but 5 stories up) and it was a very different experience --- overall, that felt much more welcoming and thoughtful: Ample towels, beach towels, furniture and bed a lot more comfortable, much more 'storage', basic supplies provided, responded to texts quickly, TV options, Wi-Fi better....

The apartment is very close to the beach, literally 2-3 min walk. It was clean and had the basic equipment. A big TV provided (need to log in in your own Netflix account) and the flat has two balconies.

When we first entered the apartment it smelled a lot like cigaretes, although it says non smoking.. the equipment is basic (has the furniture and kitchen equipment needed, incl. microwave but no oven) and the hosts do not provide any hand soap, toilet paper, oil or even soap for dishes. Just one trash bag for a week.. This means, the first thing you need to do once arrived is to run to the shop to get all those - were very surprised about the hospility, although it is really not the cheapest flat in Portimao. Also need to pay extra for early/ late check-in which is really not client friendly. This attitude of the hosts very much spoiled our experience, needing to think as it you just moved in somewhere and not arrived for holiday. During the weekend and evenings, it was quite loud in the flat, as it is close to bars etc.

- No soap, even for the hands - Only one paper roll in the WC for all the length of your stay - Later check-in (18:00h) and check-out (10:00h) would be valuable (later check-in is permitted paying a 50€ extra fee)

The owners gave great service. The apartment wan new and had everything we needed
