Sand Cay is a wonderful property in an ideal location. Everything you need for your stay is provided: free laundry facilities, beach towels, beach chairs, umbrellas, and also toys for the beach as well as items for other activities. Staff is incredibly friendly and helpful! The resort is well cared for and has a nice vibe. Grocery stores and restaurants are easy to get to from the resort. Our unit had everything we needed to prepare food when we wanted to. The unit itself was in good, not great condition and slightly dated, but the view was spectacular. The A/C, thankfully, worked really well to keep us cool! The beach is an absolute GEM, truly paradise!

When you walk in the door, you are in paradise! The view of the beach is breathtaking. Unit 204 is very comfortable and convenient, along with the view!! The office girls are wonderful! The are so helpful and friendly. Reservations are so easy to make online. Sand Cay has all we need. Looking forward to our next visit!!

Spent the weekend in unit 204 and it was the perfect set up for a relaxing weekend with family. The unit was comfortable, clean, and the view was perfect. Not too fancy and just what we were after. We played cards in the living room with a view of the gulf; sat on the porch to watch dolphins swim by; cooked great meals in the modest but well appointed kitchen; and had an easy time heading to the beach for walks and lounging. Staff at front desk were very welcoming and helpful. Got the sense that this is a place that people come back to time and again. We will!

Great location! Well maintained grounds. Unit was a bit dated but we spent very little time inside anyway. The view from the balcony was fantastic and we did spend a lot of time there in the evenings.This beach is so beautiful and one can walk forever.

Overall, it was great! Our particular unit could use a little update. Bedding and furnishings were old. The tv in master bedroom had a loose wire or connection. We had trouble getting it to stay on. Moved the tv stand around and got it working so left stand in middle of floor to not mess it up again.The view we had was awesome!

Out of all 3 of our stays now this unit had the best view. But the unit itself was the worst inside. The air conditioner unit needed to be flushed when we arrived. The whole week it could not keep up. It ran at 74-76 the whole timeNo matter what it was set to. The wifi had issues. Around 10:00 every night it seemed to go out. Maintenance was replacing it the day we were leaving. The inside was old. Water damaged that had been caulked too much. Kitchen needed to total remodel. Even a fresh paint job could help. Appliances old. Fridge and freezer stayed just cold enough but everything in fridge was just barely cold. The unit was clean it wasn’t dirty at all. It just really needs some love and a good remodel. I recommend sand cay highly but I wouldn’t Recommend this unit or stay at this one again.

While the view is fantastic, the rental has a lot to be desired. The staff and ground crew do an impeccable job keeping the grounds clean. However, the inside was not good. Nothing on the cleaning people really, I mean what can they do with things like this:. Musty smell, moldy showers, old toilet seat with wear marks, cabinets that don't close, leaks in the ceiling dripping down walls and floors, old mismatched dishes, rusty light fixtures, lights with bulbs out and non matching colors. I mean the public bathroom at the Anna Maria pier was cleaner! Totally feel like I was mislead, over paid.

We loved our most recent stay at sand cay. The beach is stunning and the location cannot be beaten. The unit where we stayed is in need of repair and a thorough cleaning, but we did not come to stay inside so it did not bother us that much.

Family Vacation stay
Location of property right on the beach! Enjoyed that the property wasn’t by touristy area but a short 5-15 minute drive from shops and restaurants. Overall a great stay. My only recommendation would be to update the interior. Specifically the leather/vinyl coach peeling. Other than that, enjoyed everything!!

Girls Get Away
Great spot for a short girls' trip. The condo was great for 4 adults. There was a broken chair on the balcony so we weren't able to all sit and enjoy the sunrise or sunset together sitting however it didn't ruin the trip. We would have liked additional entry carpets to help with the sand but other than those small things everything was great.

We felt very fortunate to have found this place. Although there were some minor things that needed updates, we were thrilled with the view from our balcony. Beds were comfortable. In the listing, it says two full beds. This is inaccurate. It’s two twin beds. We were still ok with that. Wish we could have stayed longer. Would definitely stay here again.

Fabulous views of the Gulf!
We had a lovely time, very spacious unit. Great location at the end of complex- short distance to the beach. Could use some drywall repairs near the ceilings where a previous leak was evident in areas - rather rough looking patching there. Updating the unit to todays standards would make a definite return trip. Unfortunately the red tide kept us from going in the water. So that was a disappointment but no fault of the owner of course. Overall, it worked well for our family!!

A bit disappointed
The condo had a wonderful view which we enjoyed each day. The property is in need of a face lift feeling very worn. The twin bed mattresses were extremely worn and hard on our adult children
The kitchen was not great for cooking as supplies were limited and very disorganized there were 2 umbrellas in kit unit and both were broken. When we asked for another one at the office they did not have any and we're unresponsive with a solution.
TV area was the bright spot, lots of room and a great TV.

Beautiful view!
We absolutely loved our Gulf front view at this rental from our balcony, as well as the huge living room window! Condo was clean and well supplied- only issue we had was a problem with our refrigerator staying cold, but the property managers were wonderful- sent someone right away, and they brought a replacement refrigerator the next day! Also provided us with a space to keep our refrigerated items cold in the meantime. Naturally appliances break down, but the way the staff handled the issue was above and beyond!! We would 100% recommend this property! Longboat Key is so beautiful and quiet, but still just a close drive to popular attractions- an absolutely perfect vacation for our family!

Hidden Gem on LongBoat Key
Our stay in unit 204 at the Sand Cay Beach Resort was perfect. Our unit was clean, well furnished, and had every kitchen appliance and utensil we needed for cooking. They even had a starter pack of extra paper goods to help you through the stay.
The view was phenomenal and access to the beach was quick and easy.
The best part was that the resort has beach chairs that are included with the unit we stayed in. And the beach was never crowded.
For first timers: If your unit is not on the first floor the resort has an luggage carts and elevators so you don’t need to lug things up stairs.
We are already discussing a trip for next year because we loved it so much. I could write a small essay for my review because of how happy we were with our stay. So if you’re on the fence about booking, take the leap of faith and do it!
