Enjoyed staying for a family vacation. House is roomy and within walking distance to restaurants, shops, and attractions. Also close to Whiteface mountain. Would stay again.

Location of the house and the front porch were our favorite parts! It was also well stocked with household items. Most of the outlets were two prong outlets so make sure to bring an adapter if you need it for laptops and whatnot. Overall, a nice stay!

Our daughters family lives in Lake Placid, but there was too many of us to fit in her house. This house was in a great location and could easily walk downtown. The house was quite comfortable, but very dated. We had a great time.

Sam was really great about questions and requests we had. Probably the best VRBO owner I've dealt with over the years. House is old and needs updating but it was very clean. No problems. Great location. We walked to dinner every night because parking can be challenging. Teens were able to walk to town on their own. Felt safe. All around great trip. Thank you Sam!

The house is perfectly located in the downtown so it's mere minutes to walk to everything to do on the main street. Whiteface is just 15 minutes away too. House is spacious but cozy and has everything you need for your trip. Highly recommended!

Great location. Very comfortable home for 7 adults. Bedrooms and bathrooms as expected.
Other than a little updating , the house is perfect. We had plenty of room and so enjoyed gathering in the living room and the dining room.
Would definitely stay there again.

We booked this house for our Ironman Race. The location was about as good as you can get. Close to main street, walking distance to Mirror lake for swim and the Ironman event. We utilized virtually all of the house between the front porch that we lounged in through the day to the side area with Grill where we cooked out virtually every morning and night. The house had everything we needed for cooking, grilling, relaxing and being ready for the race. It was nice to have a close location for the family to go to and from during the day and also easy for us to get home after the event. The property managers were very responsive to all needs and was always quick to to respond to any communication. Overall, it was just a great location that had everything we needed for the week.

Spacious house in a great location
Perfect location for a Lake Placid visit in a wonderfully spacious and comfortable home. Everything was exactly as pictured and described, the owner was very communicative and responsive, and the house exceeded our expectations. Would definitely stay next time we visit LP.

Quaint house in great location
We stayed for a week in this house in a quiet, residential neighborhood just two blocks from Main Street in Lake Placid. The web site was very accurate in portraying the property, including all of the 5 bedrooms.
The owner was particularly responsive and helpful. We cracked the coffee carafe while cleaning it, and he sent another one right away without issue. He helped with another minor issue, quickly resolving it remotely. Overall we had a wonderful experience and would stay here again.

Holiday Break
This is an older and dated house. This house has a lot of advantages. The location is very good, short walk to main street, has good parking, close to Whiteface and the attractions (Mt Van Hoevenberg, Ski Jumps , Saranac Lake and more). The house is clean and well stocked. Sam is easy to work with and he is responsive. We had a comfortable stay.

Amazing location close to downtown Lake Placid
Great location - just a short walk up the hill from Main Street. Sam was a super friendly host and easy to communicate with. Great wifi for those looking to work remotely. The house itself is low frills but had everything we needed to be comfortable - we are a low maintenance group. There's an apartment below the house but I never saw/heard the people who live there (we just had to make sure there was room for their car to get in/out of the driveway, which had plenty of parking space!). Overall great experience and we would definitely stay there again.

Perfect location and great spacious house!
We had such a great time, the house was just a couple of blocks from town, we had plenty of room to spread out (with 2 adults and 4 kids), and we loved the playground down the street. We also made many great meals in the kitchen, it was so well stocked with everything you need for cooking. Can't wait to go back!

Walk to town, quiet neighborhood!
We had two adults, 4 teens, and a dog, and there was plenty of space for all! It's a short walk just down the hill to town (even little kids can walk it), and my teens were so excited to head off to go skating both on the lake and on the oval and then go get crepes at the Big Mountain Deli all on their own. The house is older, but clean and well stocked, with everything you could need and plenty of towels! Sam was one of the most responsive property owners we've experienced, even having a spare key when I had trouble with the lock box at first (only because of my ignorance--I had never used one, and was trying to open the lock, rather than the front panel on the box itself!). Kids walked to town to catch the shuttle to Whiteface for skiing--a great get-away! Lake Placid seems really careful with COVID; masks are required on Main Street, and still a friendly, welcoming place.

Great location, very comfortable. Very well stocked kitchen, plenty of towels and bedding. Owner was wonderful to talk and deal with.

Family fun in Placid
The location is our favorite part of this house- we usually park the car on day 1 and walk everywhere. Our college kids are able to walk to and from nighttime hotspots, our teenager walks to a fishing spot on Mirror Lake and my husband and I walk the lake as well as downtown for great restaurants.

Great Stay!
We enjoyed our stay (5 adults and 3 kids under 6) for my sisters wedding. Close to town, with a decent hill to climb back up. Public swimming close by, beautiful location. Great communication, everything we needed was there. Easy check-in/out. House was clean.

Nice house!
The house was very clean. It is an older house but it is in great condition. I love the sun room in the front. Homeowner responded to emails asap. Plenty of items were stocked, sheets were clean and beds were super comfortable. Love the location. It is on a steep hill so you have to walk back up the hill to get to house after being in town. It was a nice visit.

VRBO missing the mark, Owner Stepping up
Great House in a great location.
We missed the deadline to make our final payment ( my fault). Contacted VRBO and the owner and tryed for over 2 hours to make the payment. VRBO was insistant that nothing was wrong with there payment system. I tryed for 2 hours with the owner taking time away from his vacation and VRBO. on hold .Nothing the owner or I did could resolve this issue. I finally made a paypal payment directly to the owner and he said he would sort it out with VRBO.THe house was ready on time. The house was on good shape. stocked in a welcoming fashion when we showed up. The owner reached out to make sure we had everything we needed and wanted. I would highly recommend this home and I would also highly reccomend that you make a final payment to VRBO when required ( they do not seem to have a way of accepting your money after the due date) .

Perfect spot for a family reunion!!!
Sam's house was a great location to have a family reunion with families from Massachusetts and Michigan. The house had ample options for people to sleep comfortably. He provided lots of helpful information about the area and was quickly responsive to any questions. The proximity to downtown was great. Easy to get to downtown shops, restaurants, and the beach. It would have been helpful to know how steep the hill is to climb. My mother (who is 79) had a tough time doing it more than once in a day but I think the exercise was good for her.

We had an amazing time in LP for the Thanksgiving holiday. This home was a perfect choice: it is walking distance to town, the kitchen had everything we needed, and there was plenty of room for us to play games and watch a movie.

Great setup for my group!
I loved staying here with my small group of skaters. The house layout was perfect so that we were spread out enough that we were able to have our own space but be together. The porch on the front was perfect for the MANY storms that we had while in LP. We got to watch the rain and lightning from there. The kitchen had plenty of space and the bedrooms were comfortable and clean! THANKS!

Great location!
I have been going to Lake Placid my whole life and it's one of favorite places. The location of this house is perfect. You can walk into town for shopping, activities, and restaurants. This is a huge plus because parking is difficult on Main Street. The house was cozy and great for a friend's getaway weekend. Had a great time!

Beautiful home, excellent communication
Sam was there to answer any questions ahead of our trip; we had four houses in this neighborhood and Sam was, by far, the most communicative owner. You can't beat the price here, or the value. Walkable to everywhere you'd want to go; lots of parking; and 20 minutes to Whiteface. If you're thinking of this house, you would do well to just go ahead and rent it. You won't be disappointed.
