Property has a rustic feel however beds very nice! Flys were a bit of a pest and bring your own toiletries! Kitchen cupboards stocked nicely

Close to lake, but have to drive 30mins to any moderate sized town. Neighbors are friendly and helpful, plenty of room but at this time lake is too low to view.

This was a great place to stay for 5 adults and our dog. The fenced in dog run was really convenient. The house was very clean and had everything we needed to cook dinners and relax after spending the day at Lake McConaughy (which is only about a 10 minute drive from the house). Would definitely stay here again!

This house is great for groups of 5-8 people. We had 6 and it worked really well. The garage is massive, we were able to back our boat and truck all the way in, keeping it hooked up. The TV, WIFI, kitchen, grills all worked great. The blackstone grill was a nice surprise. I had never used one and it was an awesome experience getting to use it for breakfast! 2 beds in the basement main room, along with a basement bedroom. One bigger bed/bedroom upstairs. My bed (basement bedroom) was fairly worn in the middle, sagged there, but was still comfortable. Id suggest upgrading when possible. This house is not going to win house of the year for VRBO. The linens are not top notch, the finish work and details in the house are lacking, or are just getting old but I was not expecting otherwise. This is Lake Mac, and the environment here is not forgiving and there are limited options. Its a great place to stay as long as you go into it expecting a little less than brand new. A couple things to note: Check the lake level. I had been to Lake Mac a month earlier and even at that time, I assumed the lake did not extend far enough west to hit this property. Sure enough, we were at 51% this weekend and the lake is a couple miles away. I knew that going in, so no big deal. Had it been up to the house, it would have been amazing to put my boat in at this house, but I would have still probably gone to Admirals Cove to launch, just due to me being sketchy about homemade ramps, and me getting my truck stuck. So, be aware of the lake, if its late July, and snowmelt was low, dont expect to see a lake out your door. Property manager was always helpful and answered our requests quickly. The directions google gives you are not accurate. Check with the manager beforehand.

Home is spacious and well stocked with pots, pans, even several dog bowls, and fans. Plenty of blankets and quilts. Big kitchen table and has two fridges and freezers. Nice big back yard with a small fenced side yard for dogs. Garage is huge, we were able to back our boat and truck in and keep it hooked up the whole time. Nice front load washer and dryer.

Sorry but we were absolutely disappointed staying here . The host was nice , but please invest in cleaning and declutter if you are charging the going rate there. Also I don’t think there has been any water on this property unless perhaps you go in winter or early spring .

While the humans had a great time and the house was a great size for 6 people, the beds comfy and clean and the views - amazing.... The 3 dogs would like to rate this a 10/10. Lots of floor space to sprawl and trip the people as they are walking. Open concept kitchen and dining room for optimal begging. Huge yard complete with turkeys run away from, smells that we have never experienced before. The grass was soft and perfect for rolling around in and peeing on. Access to the beach for more rolling (if you're lucky you'll find the dead fish and roll on it before the humans catch you). The wrap around deck provides excellent surveillance opportunities. No bad guys could get close. Only downside was one of us got smacked because we tried eating a toad. Also we were not allowed downstairs which was actually fine because we were scared of the giant fish on the wall. Would highly recommend to other fur friends.

Listing stated that there was water access located at the property. This was incorrect, however, a public boat dock and was only a few miles away. House was perfect for our group!

House was nice and clean and had everything you would need (towels, utensils, cookware, etc). I had thought the listing had mentioned a lake view but water levels were way down which was a little disappointing.

Great space for large group and a dog friendly backporch. Well appointed with kitchen equipment, linens, etc. Lake water was low unfortunately but the backyard and view were extremely peaceful. Enjoyed our stay very much. Thank you!

We stayed here in September of 2020 and June of 2021. We especially love this property because of the dog friendly atmosphere which is priceless to us. Water levels in September were non existent which was a bit disappointing being a lake house but improved slightly in June. Still not able to launch a boat or swim. Truly a beautiful and quiet property with wonderful neighbors. My suggestion from our experience is to bring your own patio furniture. Perhaps portable chairs and table to eat your dinner on. My husband, my dogs and I spend all of our time outside and the furniture provided on the deck was inadequate to enjoy the space. For very hot days the A/C automatically adjusted overnight to 85 degrees. The thermostat was a constant struggle to keep it comfortable in 104 degree heat outside. Also, just an FYI, no dogs are allowed in the Basement level. New king size fitted sheet is needed in the upstairs bedroom. It was very worn out, no elastic and time to let go. Luckily I brought my own. Overall, we enjoyed this property and especially the offerings that Lake Mac has. We appreciate the owners sharing this property with us so we could have our precious Labradors with us.

This is a nice property with lots of amenities. There is a fenced in area for dogs and gates on the wrap around deck that keep kids and pets safe. There were some cob webs, but surfaces were clean. I found it hard to relax because there are a lot of ceramics and crocks at toddler level that could be easily broken. The cleaning chemicals are in low cabinets in the kitchen and bathrooms. It would be better if they were higher up or consolidated into one area.

This house was a perfect get away great space. The only think that was lacking was the water level on the lake, thanks Mother Nature. We will definitely be back! Thanks for providing a awesome place to get away!

Location is Great! If you have any allergies to pets or dust its not the place for you. I do not understand the cleaning fee because it really needs a good/deep cleaning. The host was very nice and responded quickly to questions.

We had a small group of ladies stay for a friends birthday. We are all 30 plus and it was a beautiful quiet get away. There was a lot of options for younger crowds with a great marina bar less than 5 miles away with out door seating on a huge patio and great food. The beach is also close by and easily accessible where if you have ALW or 4W drive you can pull up right to the water. The hosts were very accommodating and close by. All the beds were comfy. The TV has dish and Netflix. The decor is cozy and very homey. We would definitely rent again in a heartbeat.

Our group came from 3 different locations to meet at this location. The setting is great. Enjoyed being together after a long absence. The home lacks sufficient equipment for seniors - stair railings & bath grab bars. Cleaning could have been better.

This is a great property with a great lake view. It is in a development area away from the chaos on the beach. However, this means that water levels vary a lot! The lake had many trees in the water and it would probably not be deep enough for swimming even if the water level was higher. The view was great for bird watching. We watched eagles, pelicans, seagulls, and herons feed for breakfast every morning. Although you will need your binoculars for anything up close. The house was quiet, beds were comfortable, with ample bedding and it was as referenced in the listing. We were a party of 6 and everyone had plenty of room. However, we felt it could have been a LOT cleaner. I definitely got the feeling it was a lake cabin and not cleaned to its potential. The kitchen was a nice and open concept. Being an open concept limits the counter space for working, but, they had every cooking tool imaginable. The BBQ grill took some searching for the propane tank and some cleaning. Sadly, we never got it to heat very hot. There were 2 refrigerators, a really nice one in the basement which was a great benefit. We really enjoyed the wrap-around deck where we enjoyed the bird activity, the Milky Way, and the lightning storms. The water was really low which made it a great place for morning walks. We loved being here and we look forward to staying again.

The property was extremely clean and loved that it was pet friendly. It had a great fenced in back area for the dog as well as fenced in deck. We ran out of propane in the barbecue and the property manager was there in less than 5 minutes to refill the tank. We love that there were so many beds in the basement for good sleeping option for the kids. Would definitely recommend this place. We were a little sad that the Lake had been drained so we were not close to the beach however we were able to I have a fire on the beach.

This property was exactly as described. The beach was just out the back door. Loved every minute of our stay at the lake.

Overall experience was great, view of the lake was nice and the accommodations were good. The property manager was very accommodating and helpful! Looking for to making the trip again and staying at this home!

Everything was great except for a few minor issues. I would recommend bringing some of your own pots and pans, however. The ones in the home are worn out. We were misled on the boat ramp access to the lake. The ramp wouldn't have been useful with the current water depth, but it's actually on the adjacent property, not this one. Other than that, nice house and great views!

I don’t know how to put in words how amazing our stay was. Finding the house was a little difficult but once we did the place was beautiful with a huge yard and cute little beach area behind it. The neighbors were very friendly and welcoming and we will definitely be making this an annual vacation spot.

Nice location close to the lake. Only complaint is that we thought the cleaning fee was excessive since it wasn't the cleanest when we arrived.
