Spectacular views

Location, bar and restaurant are great, the food was fabulous 👌

Our room (34) was not good. Toilet extremely dirty when we arrived, reported to reception and promptly dealt with. Room in general was not good, very dated, very worn, numerous bulbs out.

The location was superb

No wifi except on ground floor. Loose tiles on bathroom floor Lack of instructions on how to use the spa bath Plants on windows in bar were all dying from lack of water and a storage chest on our balcony was fully of dead plants? The plants outside the hotel were lovely and new so maybe they hadn't got round to sorting the rest?

The location and view were exceptional

Generally ok, but the hotel externally needs cleaning / painting, especially to the rear.

This property was situated in a very scenic and amazing place The rooms were welcoming and very comfortable

Staff were lovely. So friendly and helpful. That’s why I didn’t complain about our room to them. Stunning views and lovely hotel.

Bedroom was very small. En-suite was so small the sink was in the bedroom. The bedroom windows hadn’t been cleaned in a long time.

A beautiful, quiet location next to a river. We had smoked haddock for breakfast and it was delicious. We also ate our evening meal in the restaurant and the food was very good. The view from the restaurant is outstanding. Our room was very clean with a view of the river. The shower was good. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. Parking was easy. Lots of outside seating with lovely views.

Our room was very basic and a bit dated. No artwork on the white walls and no decoration of any sort, not even on the curtains or bedding. The bed frame was metal and was really cold every time I touched it with my legs. The en-suite was tiny and the door didn't close properly so we could see each other on the toilet. Luckily, we have been together for a long time and know each other well! It felt like you were using the toilet in a cupboard. No phone or wi-fi signal. No lift and a lot of stairs to climb.

Fantastic view of the river from our room with a balcony. Quiet location giving a wonderful restful sleep in a very comfortable bed. walking distance to the falls and town if you wanted

The hotel was very nice, a little tired but the views made up for it. It was in a great location. The staff were very friendly. The dinner menu was a little disappointing but breakfast was great.

Dinner menu was a little limited but the staff were very friendly. We had a suite overlooking the river so a fantastic location with lovely woodland walk to horseshoe falls. Very popular location with walkers. Not sure how you would cope in Winter as heating seemed limited.

My husband wanted a steak but the hotel said they had to remove it from the menu due to chef shortage which was disappointing.

Parking on top car park. Ridiculous arrangement when guests have luggage. Unfriendly unhelpful- rude staff ( except for young woman on reception and the lady who served us at breakfast) Mould in bathroom around tiles and on the old plastic shower curtain Squeeking beds Very chavvy , loud, threatening drunk and aggressive guests in next room. The worst experience ever in a hotel No phone in room to be able to complain to reception about the noise from the people in next room

Beautiful location, relaxing atmosphere, perfect base to explore the area.

Our canal side room was a little small but comfortable and quiet.

Price too high for the type of room and aged property. Mattress old and too soft.

The location is fantastic with a great view of the river. The hotel itself is excellent. The food also was excellent. The staff were super friendly.

Some rooms look over the river. Ours looked over the llangollen canal on the shaded side of the hotel. The room facilities were excellent. The only negative was an air conditioning fan just below our bedroom window that came on at 6.30 in the morning. I think it may have been from the kitchen.

The location

We thought we had booked a riverside room but we had a room looking out the back with a view of the canal and a slate wall. When I bought this up with the receptionist she showed me her paperwork but did not offer any upgrade. We arrived at 3.50 to be told the restaurant closed at 5.30 so we went into the town for dinner. Then the bar closed at 10. There was a motor running, we think it was from the kitchen and that started about 10.30 and then again early in the morning. The paint was peeling on the ceiling in the bathroom and the shelf in the bathroom was held up by bits of cardboard. I was going to raise these issues but there were waitresses serving breakfast but no reception staff so when we left this morning we put the key in a box on reception and no one saw us go. I feel we would have had a better experience in a hotel on a motorway service station.

Fantastic location, nice food, friendly staff, nice sized rooms

Poor facilities, room phone not working so safety issue as no signal on mobile, mirror light not working, no BBC on tv, no heater in bathroom, could not get internet connection anywhere in hotel

Location was great. Beautiful scenery from hotel.

Was not very warm at night. Could have needed another blanket.

Could do with a few things upgraded in the bathroom grouting around bath toilet and sink needs replacing but not a big issue

Beautiful hotel in a stunning location. Beds so comfy and rooms warm and cosy. Water outside very relaxing and the balcony was an added bonus. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Will definitely be returning....thankyou
