Cadre en pleine nature agréable. Présence d’une cheminée dans le salon . Gîte très propre.
Lodge un peu froid et humide certainement très agréable en été moins en période pluvieuse. Équipement pour la cuisine un peu limité et vieillissant.

Have been in Log cabins a few times, and love them, but this time it was disappointing
The property was cold and there was a lot of mould on the blinds, And had a musky smell, the shower in the ensuite was Crap, and in both bathrooms, there was nowhere to hang your towel, they really need a makeover for the price that they charge . (But Maggie was a lovely lady and very helpful )

Lovely quiet rural setting with plenty of attractions within an hours drive. Lodge had everything we needed, dishwasher, washing machine, dryer etc etc
Nothing really, a little upgrading needed here and there but perfectly adequate.

Quiet, secluded, ideal for walking holidays in the countryside. Peaceful, plenty of wildlife.
Electricity tariff is quite high, we were aware that we paid for the usage at the end of the stay, be careful with your appliance usage!

Loved the log cabin secluded location. Comfy beds loved the open plan

It was so cold! The overnight storage heaters weren’t working. There was a log burner, and extra (costly) heating. Other than that we had a lovely week.

2nd time staying in lodges in 3 months. This time we stayed in No 13. It was a very well laid out 3 bedroom lodge with ensuite in each room. Nice patio outside for bbq and solid fuel fire inside to keep lodge warm. All mod cons on site. There was even some nice touches like a Christmas tree set up in lounge. Manager as usual very efficient with information and for check in / out.

All rooms have en-suite bathrooms.
Well equipped kitchen. We stayed here over Christmas due to building renovations in our own home. The owner had a fabulous Christmas tree in place in the living room on arrival. It was really relaxing and our kids loved cosying up to the stove in the evening time.
It is fantastic that the lodge allowed our dog to stay. Dog walkers paradise. We will be back!

Stayed in lodge 10. All was very clean and tidy on arrival. As it was November in a lodge it could be cold as you would expect . However the wooden stove and electric heaters meant you could have it as warm as you want. The wooden stove made it nice and cosy in the evening and was enough for us after a days mountain biking in the nearby Ballyhoura cycle trails. Nice to lookout in the evening and see the stars overhead even if weather was not always great. All mods cons required were included. Would definitely go back again. Our small dog even loved it. Lots of parking on site.
Teenage children didn’t like the poor cellular reception in area. There was wifi in parts of house which could have been stronger. This did however help with less phone time.

Beautiful location, amazing log fire, playground right outside the front door 2 others within the small complex of houses - one with a zip wire and the other outdoor climbing frame.
Only downside is having to pay extra for the electricity you used, the appliances are not the most efficient - ended up being 25 euro for 3 nights. Not much, but also not the nicest way to end a holiday.

The location was unreal.
The looped walks were amazing.
Maggie, the host, was lovely
Dogs welcome...and they loved it as much as we did.
Very clean
I've never slept so well!
The musty smell ☹️
Make sure you bring the following...scented candles, firelighters, Firewood, cleaning wipes, basic cooking items such as oil, salt pepper, extra teabags, coffee, sugar, etc. toiletries and food! No takeaways in the immediate area bar a chipper 5km away. Local Centra and Supervalu 11kms away but I'd recommend bringing food.
Ask how to work emersion and storage heaters on day one.
Unfortunately if you get a disabled bathroom you will need to use towels to dry floor.
Would still recommend staying here and will undoubtedly be back!

Ballyhoura Mountain Lodges is a lovely place in a beautiful rural area.
On our arrival we were very well received in a friendly manner by the host. And she was available and helpful whenever we needed something.
The cottage is equipped with whatever you may need for a long stay. Washing machine, dishwasher, a fully equipped kitchen - you name it, it's all there. The combined living room and kitchen is spacious with comfy furniture, so we felt very much at home.
The place is situated in a quiet and peaceful rural area with plenty of possibilities for hiking and activities in the nature.
The pictures give a good impression of the cottage and surroundings, but in reality it's even more cosy.
The beds were very nice and comfy so we slept well all week.
The cottage was clean on arrival, but its in need of some TLC as there are some wear and tear (we had to mend a couple of nails sticking up from the floorboard)

Super property with everything needed to make our stay comfortable. Plenty of space for our family of 5 and dog.
Maybe some outdoor seats in addition to the picnic bench for reading etc.

The location was pretty. Very remote.
Lovely forest for a walk. But not very big. Have to double back or follow a road to get back.
Only 1 small pub within walking didtance. No little shop., which would have been handy.
The car and a min of 15 mins drive is required for anything.
Although, we did enjoy exploring Limerick , Cahir castle, Mitchelstown cave, Rock of Cahel from here. Its right on boarder of Limerick, Cork and Tipperary.
The cabin looked lovely......at first glance.
Great kitchen. Full size fridge freezer, washing machine, tumble dryer, dishwasher, over, hob and microwave. The kitchen was the best part. Well equipped.
The accomodation lay out was fab...3 bedrooms, ensuite and bathroom. It could have been amazing.
For younger kids there were a few little play ground areas, which are lovely.
I reckon the host is missing a trick here. There is an office area which could accomodate a little shop and even officelicence. A bbq area would be great too.
If the interior was fresh and comfy beds, we would have enjoyed it.
No excuse for shabby in this day and age, no matter how cheap it is. Basics are hugely important in my view.
The cabin badly needed a deep clean and paininting inside.
There was mould on the window sills/ledges, especially in bedrooms.
The heaters in all bedrooms didnt work...host did arrive with seperate plug in heaters when requested.
The double bed was extreemly uncomfortable...and noisy.....everytime one of us moved , we woke the other up.
My hip hurts from a bad spring poking through.
And do you know what the host suggested when I told her the bed was bad?,..."did you try a single bed". No, i didnt, as I prefere to sleep beside my husband rather than in a room with the kids, but thank you all the same !
By night 3 , our bed in particular, was extreemly damp. Had to plug in a heater for a full evening to try and dry the room out.
I developed a chesty cough from the damp.
In both bathrooms the towel ring was broken off....no where to hang hand towl near the wash hand basin.
One big gripe I have is the extra charge for electricity. Why is it seperate?
We stayed 5 nights, (checked out 2 days early as our own home is far more comfortable)...and was charged and extra 23 euro for electricity.
Now...surely no one is ever going to not use the electric shower, or turn on a light or tv, or , heaven forbid, try to stay warm....grant it, it is July...but it is Ireland.
Im really upset that although we checked out 2 days early, and host was made aware that the bed was extreemly uncomfortable, she still proceeded to charge me the rate for electric.
That is not good business. She never offered anything to make us stay apart from the suggestion of using a single bed.
The outdoor space was ample with a picnic bench....which was not usable, as it needed to be powerwashed down or clothes would have been destroyed, and a clothes line.

The small playground was right across from our lodge and it had a sandpit, there was also an obstacle course at the top and a zip line at the bottom next to the forest walk along with a basketball hoop. Forest walk was really beautiful with a tiny waterfall. Lots to do in the surrounding area, really wonderful place for families. Maggie who looks after the place was so helpful, even called into let us know we could have a late check out.
Nuala’s pub is a must after the glenroe fairy village walk along the river. She was welcoming of families for crisps and refreshments.
The nearest town was about 10/15 mins away which had a centra, the next town was 20 mins with a SuperValu. But we found out you can get Tesco to deliver and you could book a time slot for after you arrive

The house was fabulous. It has everything you need and very comfortable. The outside areas are beautiful. Highly recommended and we can't wait to stay again.
