Very comfortable room, spacious, AC!

I only wish the hand shower could be mounted on the wall

The location was good. The building was furnished in a cozy elegant, albeit not too functinal way.

I stayed at the third floor of this ancient building. I didn't know it hadn't any elevator. The old wooden stairs were incredibly steep and it took quite an effort to reach this floor with and without the luggage. I do not have any physical impairment and I am not particularly old (nor young: I am in my sixties) so I accepted the room but if I knew the stairs were these steep and the third floor so high I would not have accepted. The owners should definitely highlight this failure.

The hotel and location was perfect with excellent views of the beautiful Metz Cathedral. In addition, the staff took care of our every need!

Staying the Hotel de la Cathedrale was such an amazing experience that I can only wholeheartedly recommend. We were greeted with a warm and friendly smile upon arrival and then personally escorted to our magical room on the top floor under the wooden beams of the ancient roof with the most perfect view of the stunning 14th century Cathedral. We had requested a view of the Cathedral and a view we got. The breakfast buffet was nice and varied, the service impeccable, and the fruit display a veritable piece of art. There was a bit of noise from the street in the evening, but that's to be expected when one stays in the heart of a lively city. There's an impressive choice of restaurants within walking distance from the hotel and then of course all the amazing historical sites in and around Metz. I fell in love with Metz and will definitely stay at the Hotel de la Cathedrale next time :-)

the authentic place, the young girl at the reception was very gentle. they offer you an espresso before you leave.

some noise from the night club. it was a week-end and you are in the middle of the city. you can't have everything.

The staff was great. The view of the church was lovely. The location could not have been better for walking around the city.

Having to hall my very large luggage up 4 sets of stairs. Maybe it was stated there was no elevator, but I would have brought less to the room if I know I would be hauling it up 4 flights.

Very good location. Old fashioned hotel but in a good way! Character but with all the mod cons. If we would have had a better room my rating would have been better.

We had a tiny room adjacent to the smoking terrace. All our windows opened to this smoking terrace. We could not even open the curtains without having people looking right into our room and the smell of smoke.

no lift…… ok for me but my friend struggled with stairs.

There is no way to be closer to the centre. Super nice building and squeaky stairs!
