Just returned from 8 days at the beautiful Sunflower Guest House. On arrival we were greeted by our fabulous hosts Bev and Graeme and were immediately made to feel welcome. Our room was ready when we arrived and we were put in the Sunflower Room which was clean and bright and the comfortable bed and pillows made for a great nights sleep. There are several options for breakfast and I highly recommend the full English with the most delicious homemade pork sausage. We enjoyed most of our evening meals there and there are so many choices from a wonderful roast chicken dinner to a traditional Bulgarian pork dish. Everything is made fresh , and well presented. Nothing is too much for these wonderful hosts. The gardens are well maintained and there is plenty of seating area to soak up the sun read a book and just relax. This is your home away from home and I can honestly say we made some wonderful memories and left Bulgaria having made two great friends. Thank you so much Graeme and Bev and we will be back soon.

The room was very clean and comfy, The breakfast was delicious and the dinner exceeded our expectation. The owners are very nice people and we will definitely come back for a longer stay.

We stayed in this wonderful place for one night on our way back from Sofia. The place was so quiet and peaceful away from the city noise. Beautiful and well maintained garden. Various activities are available to the guests - darts, billiards, outdoor pool, sun terrace. I am in love with the style of this place - natural materials are used, the architecture of the past has been preserved. Bev and Graеmе are wonderful hosts, hospitable, ready to meet any wishes of the guests. We pre-ordered dinner and breakfast. There is a great selection of international dishes and Graеmе has excellent cooking skills. Everything was presented with care and beautifully arranged. We are so happy we found this wonderful place and will be back again and again.

What should I say? It was awesome! We stayed here for a night, it was really only for a break on our way back to Bucharest. We booked last minute, literally 30 min before arriving but have been welcomed so dearly. It felt like we stayed in a B&B in the middle of Cornwall and tasted like we were in the heart of India (beside some other dishes we didn't try, Graeme creates most delicious curries and also the porridge in the morning was superb!). Bev and Graeme are very kind hosts and it was enjoyable listening to their stories from around the world. As they told us, some guests are coming for a weekend and not leaving the premises once, which I can very well imagine. It is a retreat for the whole family. You can relax in the garden, jump in the pool, play table tennis, darts or table football and as mentioned before enjoy some home cooked dinner. Thank you for the pleasant stay! I hope to come back soon!

For me everything was delightfull. The room was very coasy and clean, food excelent and surroundings very relaxing.

Very friendly and welcoming hosts. Graeme adapted his menu's without asking, once he knew our taste. Calm and yet easy to meet the other guests who also felt home. Setback : the water was shut of regularly. Beverly provided us with jerrycans of cold and on demand hot water. The location was very good with lots of interesting points within 30 min drive.

The breakfast was delicious and there was a good variety of options to choose from. The location was quaint, the furniture inside the rooms was gorgeus and the hosts were really friendly and helpful.

There was a lot to be desired as far as cleanliness goes. The yard was full of dead bugs and dried leaves, which would not have bothered us if the room would have been clean. However, this was not the case. The furniture looked like it hadn't been dusted in a while, the floors were rather dirty and the bathroom was extremely unhygienic: there was dirt in the shower, spider webs in the corners and the toilets were miserable (I don't want to get too graphic, but it was clear that they hadn't been scrubbed in between guests). It's really a shame. =(

This place is a true gem - such a beautiful location, thoughtful and tasteful design, extraordinarily welcoming hosts. Fantastic breakfast, too! We enjoyed every bit of our stay. And the starry sky at night was just the cherry on the top. Idling on the swing, sipping wine, looking at the stars, listening to the night countryside choir and talking - isn't that a definition of romantic. Thank you Bev and Graeme!

I didn't like that we had to leave so soon

It is a charming country house greatly renovated with all modern facilities. We stayed in an apartment and the rooms were big, bright, comfortable and causey. There is a nice yard with garden, relax area and great entertainment tent with a nice choice of games. Boys loved it. It is so relaxed during the day and quiet in the night and the stars are bright and many. The guest house has a dining room where you can try the delicious food prepared by Greame. Everything we tried was so tasty, that we couldn't resist eating it, although the size was bigger than we can take. Don't miss the breakfast it is just great and will satisfy all tastes. The owners are sweet couple and we really enjoyed spending time with them. Thank you, Bev and Greame for your hospitality! We enjoyed being your guests and hope we meet you soon 😊

The place is really laid-back and clean. We really loved the home-cooked food and the peace and quiet, Easy to get to, good roads to get around the region as there are places worth visiting.

Absence of Bulgarian TV channels. Netflix, Youtube and so on - this is great, but we still love evening news broadcasts and shows the old-fashioned way.

If you're looking for a comfy, clean and homey accommodation in a quiet corner of nature, this place is perfect. It has everything you need, from a recreation area to tasty, freshly prepared meals, plenty of spaces for chilling, on-demand decorative painting workshops, beautiful pets and even an above-ground pool. Plus the owners, who seem to have a bag full of interesting stories to tell to their guests. There are plenty of places you can go visit within an hour or so by car, with Veliko Tarnovo just 20 mins away.
