The place was perfect for our stay in Ballard. The place had everything we needed and more. The owners were very helpful and super friendly. The garden around the house was lovely and the roses were even in bloom. Its truly a gem.

We needed a house to be able to make both a holiday and birthday dinners with guests. Shopped our ingredients at the sumptuous farmers market then spent the day creating our feast for Easter. The neighborhood was all a bloom with colorful trees even though it rained every day. It will be a special memory for all who shared it with us.

We loved our stay at this beautiful home. It had every amenity that we could need. It was very quiet and well-situated for walking to wonderful shops and restaurants in Ballard. It honestly felt like home by the time we left. We will definitely stay here if/when we return to the area.

So glad I found this property! Less than a 10minute walk to my son’s condo, straight shot to Starbucks on Market st., incredible shower with tons of hot water to warm the blood during a Seattle winter day, and a nice, comfy bed. The only suggestion would be to include instructions to lock the door when leaving. Maybe it’s just me, but it was not obvious until the host gave me instructions over the phone. Thank you for the quick response and remedy when I called.

This property and its kind hosts were exactly what we needed for a 30-day stay. The home is expertly equipped with nice quality cookware and linens. It is very spacious, including more-than-adequate closet space. Gorgeous gardens, outdoor furniture, and the walkable neighborhood let us park the car for days at a time. Mary and Bob were available and responsive. 10/10! Thank you Mary and Bob.

We were delighted to discover this beautifully redone house in a very walkable part of Ballard, especially since our daughter and granddaughter live only 5 minutes away. The quality of the house was exceptional, beautiful kitchen, easy entry through the well-lit back yard using a door keypad, numerous windows throughout and so much natural light! The bedroom had a spacious closet, plus a dining room and separate living room that allowed many options for comfortable seating and eating. The front and side yard were enclosed by a white picket fence, and we were able to enjoy the massive flower garden, watch hummingbirds at the feeder on the front porch and a variety of birds happy to munch at the feeder. Convenient to walk to a QFC, Bartell’s Drugs, and only four blocks to downtown Ballard with shops and numerous places to eat. This incredible property will be our go-to choice whenever it is available for our future trips to Seattle! Mary and Bob were delightful and we visited with them in person a couple of times when they stopped by to work in their garden. Bonus: a private parking spot in the driveway was definitely a big plus!

Yellow Victorian House in Ballard
We were delighted to discover this beautifully redone house in a very walkable part of Ballard, especially since our daughter and granddaughter live only 5 minutes away. Beautiful stay in a wonderful location
Lovely hosts and an amazing place! Well-appointed rooms, comfortable spaces, lovely kitchen with everything you need including a breakfast table, bay window dining area for games and socializing, beautiful gardens and an outdoor dining spot, robust wi-fi, great TV couch with cable options.
We loved the location, walked to brew pubs, coffee shop, French bakery, restaurants, fave ice cream shop! You can catch public trans in to sightseeing in Seattle like MoPOP and Pike Street. Looking forward to our return!

The Ballard Victorian is The Best
Everything about The Ballard Victorian is excellent. The property is beautifully maintained, super clean and tidy, while being comfortable and feeling like home. Everything we could have wanted was included. Great Kitchen, well equipped. Same for living room, bathroom, dinning room and bedroom. The location is great. The reserved parking is convenient to have in a rather crowded neighborhood. I hope we are fortunate enough to be able to return again and again.

Ballard Victorian House
Enjoyed our fourth stay at the house…this time does three weeks. Very comfortable and convenient to Ballard dining district, Golden Garden Park, and other locations. Super local bike/walking trails.

The house was spacious, clean and well appointed. Very comfortable for my wife and myself. It would easily work for a group of 4 or even 6 people. The owners were readily available. Great neighborhood within walking distance of multiple stores and restaurants. We would strongly recommend it and would stay here again

The apartment was wonderful. Exactly how described in the listing. Both my wife and I were working and the internet allowed both of us to do video meetings. Location is terrific. And they have a parking space! would certainly stay there again.

Warm and homey. Well located for walking to good restaurants or groceries if you prefer to cook in the well equipped kitchen.
And while eating in the dining room enjoy the view out the south facing bay windows of the rose garden and the pedestrians strolling by.

This is the beautifully restored and updated spacious first floor of a Victorian era single-family house in the residential Ballard neighborhood in the northwest of the city. We had the use of the eat-in kitchen (with upscale appliances), dining room, bedroom, updated bathroom, and living room with flat-screen TV, as well as a parking place in back of the house. We had no trouble using the WiFi. The owner was very conscientious and friendly. There are a drugstore and upscale supermarket (with parking) within 2-3 blocks, and the Market Street retail area is within walking distance with boutiques, a bookstore, and eating places. The fabulous new Nordic Museum is also nearby. Driving into downtown Seattle is not difficult.

Location was great and the apartment very comfortable. The kitchen was well stocked...allowing serious cooking. We cooked a full Thanksgiving dinner for eight people.

Lovely home base in the heart of Ballard
We spent two and a half weeks at Mary and Bob's house in Ballard and had an excellent experience. The house is perfectly situated - close to transit options, the Market Street and Ballard Ave commercial corridors, etc. It's in a quiet neighborhood but close to the hubbub. (We were there with our toddler, who loved walking down the street to the Ballard Branch Library.) The space worked really well for our family of three. It's nicely updated, exceptionally clean and has everything you need for either a short or long stay. Mary was fantastic to coordinate with and clearly puts a lot into ensuring that her guests have a great stay.

Another great stay!
We had another wonderful stay at the Victorian Retreat this past week. The house is in a great location for walking to the library, farmer’s market, and all the shops and restaurants in Ballard. You have easy access to Seattle Center and downtown via the Rapid Ride and it’s a quick drive to the zoo, or to play at Greenlake or Golden Gardens. The apartment is super clean and well maintained and has been in all the years we’ve stayed here. We love this place!

Wonderful Home!!
We came to Seattle to meet our two month old granddaughter. This home was just terrific for my husband and me. Lots of space to spread out in, so much better than any hotel room. I’m sure this home is better than most other VRBOs around. There were only two of us, yet four people could stay here with out being on top of each other. Great equipped kitchen, large dining area and then a nice sized living area, not to mention a bedroom and bath..and laundry! For another extended Seattle stay, we will stay here! Owners were accommodating prior to our arrival. We didn’t need them once here, but I feel they would have been attentive if necessary. No noise from the upstairs renter, surprised me. PERFECT PERFECT PERFECT

2nd Time Renting here, Love It!
We came last year and had the upstairs, which was wonderful, but no longer available.
So, we (2 friends) stayed in the downstairs unit this year and it was fabulous. The owners
show they are detailed oriented and deliver a very comfortable homey house. Close to Old Ballard; a great bakery down 2 blocks; has a parking spot this year; comfortable beds and nice bedding. Even in the rain of Seattle, you could easily stay put all day in this house and relax.
