Absolutely amazing food, fab staff, total relaxation, beautiful renovations

The hotel is gorgeous. Food was amazing, staff fabulous. Rooms very comfortable. Spa was lovely.

Loved the history of it. Staff is excellent and breakfast is great. location and views are spectacular.

Dinner a little costly for the quality. Lobby/Bar bathrooms need more keeping.

The most incredible food! The vegetarian option was sensational and we would travel there again just to have dinner. The hotel is just on the outskirts of the village so it is lovely to walk in for some afternoon drinks.

Be sure to book the spa (even the steam room/hot tub) as it may be booked out in advance. We thankfully got a last minute cancellation.

I liked the room I stayed in and the Massage I had was amazing and the staff where very friendly

I have an electric car and it would have been lovely to be able to charge it at the hotel also unfortunately the heating wasnt working in my room so it was cold. Though the staff brought me up a heater which worked very well

decor looks a little tired in places

Stunning views from terraces , staff exceptionally friendly and always smiling .Food was really good.

Outside garden was unkempt untidy and uncared for giving a poor impression when we arrived .

The room was a little small. The hallways could do with being updated - the carpets in these areas were quite dirty looking

The view, first and foremost, was beautiful. The staff, for the most part, were also warm and hospitable, particularly Kellie (who offered, unprompted, to help my travel companion with her suitcase) and Mallory from the restaurant. From a fellow hotel worker, thank you for demonstrating five star service. :)

The lady I dealt with -on the phone the evening prior to arrival, and again at check in and check out- was not the friendliest. Her manner was quite brusque, as she seemed in a rush to finish our conversation, even when there was nobody else waiting to be serviced. At check in, there was virtually no attempt at pleasantries or establishing the reason for my stay. The interaction was slightly more positive upon check out, but I was not asked how my stay was (always good to get feedback), and she did not seem particularly concerned when I pointed out that I had been overcharged to the tune of 25euro, just removed it from the bill. Also, there were two bottles of conditioner in the bathroom but no shampoo. Obviously a mistake on the part of housekeeping but a little annoying, all the same.

Relaxed athmosphere throughout hotel, staff contributed to this, old world decor etc pleasant surprise and beautifully quaint, i know lifts were broken but we didnt mind the climb to the room, lovely hidden seating along the way in little alcoves

oh gosh dining service speed ..sorry ..i appreciate it is so difficult to get hospitality staff and the kitchen was probably mad busy but out front were cross hungry guests including my family who gave up waiting for the desert. Food was lovely though, breakfast might benefit from self service counter.
